  1. You do what you've got to do to get it in the shot! haha
  2. My business partner and I have come up with something that I don't think I've seen on the scene before, and I'd like to share it in order to test the waters to see what kind of interest we might have in the product if we were to go into production with it. It is an infrared remote control system we call AtariRC. Designed for the 2600 VCS. It includes the pause modification, select, reset, and two joysticks (no paddles), all controlled via the IR transmitter that is powered by a 9 volt battery. It is very much a prototype right now, but is completely working. We're unsure if we're going to sell them as completed products or just kits. We're unsure what all we are going to do with them in general honestly. We're still working on design and trimming the costs down, as right now a finished product would be rather pricey (probably about $150 a set, $180 if we install for you.) We hope to drive that cost down, obviously. Finished product will probably be vastly physically different from this prototype. Would any of you be interested in such a setup? (forgive my southern Indiana redneck twang...) Thanks everyone -Tim
  3. I may have to go out and look around my area for these...very cool.

    7800 emulater

I like EMU7800 also. It is a bit tricky to get it to load lesser known or homebrew ROMs though, as it wants to only load known ROMs by design. I'm sure if I studied on it a bit more, that wouldn't be an issue.
  5. Very, very nice display! Those kiosks rock!
  6. Most certainly. Don't play radio as much as I used to though. I mostly just work
  7. On a couple of my consoles the Color/BW switch tends to have dirty contacts internally...sometimes wiggling it will make it switch to color, or pushing it the right way. The best option is to get in there and at least use some high-quality contact cleaner on it.
  8. Stella is excellent. Pretty sure it will always be my prime choice for VCS emulation. Good work!
  9. Need cofffffeeeeehhhh...

  10. I am curious if anyone here knows how to assemble some of the original 7800 games from the source found at http://www.atarimuse...les/7800/games/ using DASM. I found the information in this thread (http://www.atariage....ation-and-dasm/), using the stuff in "compile.zip" that is in there, as a good start. As the game source found over at Atari Museum are in separate files, how do you assemble them as a group to create the .bin file that can be executed in emulation? I am more or less looking for the syntax necessary when running dasm to compile the game. I get how to sign the bin with the 7800 encryption and whatnot. I'd love to be able to start with one of the classic games as a beginning to learning to program the ol' ProSystem. Thanks!
  11. My light sixer is the same, with some silver label carts even. Most will go in, but it isn't much fun to force them, of course.
  12. Miner 2049er II, given to me in a collection by a co-worker in 2008. He was planning on trashing the whole box. Cart is in great shape, too.
  13. Lightning and Cisco...not a good combination. Makes for sharp router skillz though...

  15. This thread is great, I always figured I was among the youngest, having been born in the last pre-crash year of Atari awesomeness (1982)....guess not!
  16. QD is excellent, It can truly bring dead electronics back to life. I'd definitely try it on the switch. I've been meaning to try it on jittery paddle pots too, I'm betting it can clean those up.
  17. No, it's not. These are called Gray Labels: http://www.atarimania.com/screenshots_games_atari-2600-vcs-p_total-page-step-label_111-1-200-434_2_G.html They form a seperate category that's much bigger than the Silver Label category. That would be accurate I suppose. I still think in the 90s idea of the label varations I guess, where those weren't usually separated. I, of course, have noted the older carts actually being silver/glossy and the more matte look of games like that mario bros cart.
  18. That is a variation of the silver labels, there are those type (also found on cartridges like some pole position carts and Ms. Pac-Man, as well as the type pictured in the guide.
  19. ...you think a C compiler for 6502 processors is junkware? Quite a powerful tool really.

    WTB: Atari 800XL

Hey guys, thanks, I think I've got one on the way now though. Forgot to hop in there and update. Thanks!
  21. True, they may not contact, but it is a good way to get a feel for at least some of what's out there, and with enough participation, you could actually eventually get a good feel for how many of them still exist, or at least how many are out there at this moment in time. Granted, only enthusiasts will likely add theirs, but still...oh well! Mine, which has been through a hard life (rescued from the landfill, literally), doesn't have the serial number tag, but it did have the internal piece of paper inside on the mainboard with the number "99 14300026" on it, does have the A/B Channel select switch on it, and has the speaker slots in the top. Had it since 2002.
  22. Is the console itself still available, or is it now on ebay as well? Thanks!
  23. Yeah, think melted electronics on the main board. Blown capacitors and fried resistors. Bought it off ebay, so I don't really know the details. At the time I didn't have this awesome original 2600 service guide, it was probably fixable, barring dead ICs of course.
