  1. So...... I have to go to bed in a bit to get up at 2AM for an EARLY day at work tomorrow, so I am posting this now in hopes of having some answers when I wake up. If all goes well, my 800XL goes under the knife for surgery tomorrow afternoon to have Lotharek's Ultimate 1MB Revised 2K14 installed. The following picture is of my personal motherboard. From what I can gather from pics on the net, this is the 4 solder points to connect correct? The one I have the most trouble seeing from pics posted is the PHI2. Am I correct that it get soldered to the right leg of R20? Are the other 3 spots correct for the 2K14 revision? I know that the 4 wires can be soldered to the CPU itself, but I read other places that said it was not a good idea. What is the disadvantage?

    Thanks in advance.

But on a on topic note, Scotty did you have either an ST or an Amiga, the reason I ask is that I do remember a Pretty woman sample but I'm pretty sure it was on an Amiga disk, it could be just coincidence but I just don't remember an Atari 8 bit one and I'm not bad at remembering the stuff from that time (with the odd minor error)

Yeah, I actually had both. I had the 800 and C64 side by side, then sold the C64 and got the ST. Then after a wile, sold that and got the Amiga. I was well versed in all four of the major platforms back in the day.

There was a wheel of Fortune game for the Amiga, when you played solo, the computer players were 'Amiga Red' and 'Amiga Blue'. It used software speech synthesis similar to SAM, and would say "Go Ahead Amiga Blue". A friend and I say that to each other all these years later. Sticks in our heads like an old movie quote.

  3. Back in the early 80s, I had two digital audio demo's where you would pus the start button on the computer, and the screen would blank and play roughly 10 seconds of digitized audio (although it sounded terrible) of a song. Who would have ever guessed back then that this would be the norn for listening to music years later. :) Anyhow, there were two of these demo's floating around back then, each taking up a full disk. One was "You Really Got Me Now" by Van Halen. The other was "Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison. I have Van Halen as an XEX file. Does anyone have Roy Orbison?

  4. Is the Ultimate 1MB compatible with the 130XE? By compatible, I do not mean can it be installed in the machine, as I already know that to be the case. What I mean is... Is the Rambo or Compy Shop bank switching compatible with what the 130XE uses, so software intended for the 130XE will run no problem?

Antonia has a 128MB XE listed in its config screen, whereas Ultimate 1MB does not.
