  1. Alex, I was hoping that it was you that won that auction!! I wish you all the best in getting that label off carefully. I wish I could give you some pointers on how to do it, but that's something I haven't done. Can't wait to see pictures of the inside of it and finally solve the mystery on this damn cart once and for all! Hey mike!!! Yeah just 3 months ago we talked how one would never show up, then BOOM!! Good news is there might just be one screw and no need to lift label. Either way some sort of answer, pics or progress will begin tommorow
  2. I still think Its Good Ole USA in origin. Someone would have found one in brazil by now!!! I might get the cart tommorow but my hair drying skills arn't perfected yet
  3. There were not that many. Where did you get those numbers from? I believe there were half a dozen. Dam Mint in the Box Video Lifes ? Yum Anyone selling one?
  4. I just felt mine and I do not feel a screw!! On another note....if it is found that this a pirate cart or one of the PAL arena, the cart will still be rare because there are simply only seven accounted for. I'm not trying to protect the value of Air Raid, but in my book, that equals extremely rare. Well i hope its just one screw . Because if its like a parker Brothers cart, that crap is sealed shut short of cracking it open like a Glass piggy bank Good news "Air Raid will be packed and insured for the amount of 1500. FRAGILE, FRAGILE, FRAGILE will be stamped. Thanks for bidding. Got the payment. Thanks. I will ship your item tomorrow via Express mail, insured for $1500 with delivery confirmation. Thanks again for bidding and I hope you enjoy your rare find." Will Have it tommorow . ... .......(gets chainsaw ready)
  5. I have never tried a hair dryer before, I use a heatgun. This one, to be precise: http://www.etool.ca/eTool/RENDER/1/71/390/3144.html Hmmm so do u heat a corner till it lifts ? Then slowly pull while heating the exposed lifting label ? I just tried it again .Also i noticed parker brother carts are totaly sealed while the activision carts and atari are screw closed and can be opened. I hope the Airraid isnt sealed like the parker brothers carts I just zoomed in very close on that pic of your Air Raid, there may be no screw under that label at all, the one in the handle may be the only one. LOL no way then someone must have opened one up.

  7. Ummm, I do it ona near weekly basis to more carts than you want to hear about. Trust me it works. I wouldn't give false advise. It is a proven method. I have removed AT LEAST 2 or 3 HUNDRED ATARI labels this way. I have also used this method on hundreds of carts successfully. I am well into the 4 digits, using this method. Hmmm i must be a BoBo i just tried it on a coleco Intellivion cart Donkey kong .? I blew the hair dryer a good 30 sec on corner to see if it would lift and nothing happened except short of burning my thumb off
  8. I don't think this method would work well considering the age of the glue...Its probably hardened, but probably the best way of keeping it intact. I re-apply (if needed) them with this: LOL how the the hell did u find that =O Looks perfect tho http://www.stickermaker.com/xyr500bab.html

I assume one that won't eat away at the label or turn brown after a while ?
  10. depends on what glue was used. Atari lables melt like butter Guess ill do some test on a few coleco and intellivison carts first . Kinda like a Sacrafice to the atari Gods =P
  11. So say it gets opened up and it says "MADE IN THE USA" or something like that to confirm it is made in the USA or Canada, ect whatever its NTSC and it has a production ROM stuck on on it. Does it go way up in value or is it just confirmed to be a big money cart? Also on the other side of the coin, it gets opened and says "Brazil" and its a 10 cent 2752 or 2732 or whatever EPROM? Does it go way down in value as it is 100 percent confirmed to be just a pirate cart with a sketchy PAL-M line count? I think opening this cart will be the fate of the blue demon for sure; For better or for worse. I been hearing about this cart since 92 - 93 and its unknown history has bugged me ever since . Back then chase the chuck wagon was thought of as super rare and a holy grail =O How the times have changed Im still confident its USA, the cart looks decently made not like those crappy little t-Carts from brazil.
  12. Its so wierd that they turned up all over the US and none have turned up in Brazil or other potenial places .It has to be a US release, by a compnay that went bellyup in a week
  13. Yeah Millipede !!! just fell in love with this game, Started playing it when i found a cool Atari CD with the 20 Best Atari Arcade Classics. Crank the speakers up and its awesome arcade bliss =O Funny thing is , i was a Missle Command whore now the game doesn't do it for me anymore.
  14. Yeah sure if he wants me too. I thought there was a dump already ?
  15. How many Video lifes were found ? Where magic Cards found too ?
  16. Heh Woonder007 Is correct!!! 4 days taking in the fact its coming from Georgia and i paid for express Mail. I just hope there something printed inside on the eprom =O .Either way from pics im sure someone here will know the answer ,maybe CPUWIZ or Sku-u . Congrats on getting an amazing deal on Air Raid also!!! 1500 is a steal seeing the amount it normally goes for. And also big ups for you and taking it apart to try and solve the $3k mystery. All the best of luck!! Yeah thank God it didn't cost too much. I know a painitng restorer and he might know how to lift the label with out damage , otherwise my Airraid will have a giant hole in it .I will post the HiRez Pics up as soon as i open it Im not too good with the technical side, mostly like the games and memorabilia . So if it Isn't to obvious someone here will be able to figure it out. Could even say Canada inside, kinda looks like artwork for alot of those canadian store release.

  18. I still kinda think its a good Ole USA Release from a dying start up company during the video game crash.
  19. Stay tuned for the end to one of the greatest Urban Legends of the Atari 2600 =)
  20. Um theres alot out there =P Believe me when i say that.
  21. Seriously they were in the FBE sets along with some othere rares i cant remember at the moment, maybe silver gravitars ?
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Nice lot on EBAY with no mention of rares i can see a spikes peak, stragety X and others!!! GO GET EM BOYS!!!
  23. Mean 18 for 7800 ? Thats not rare is it ? They came in the FBE sets back in 1990 . Fully mint along with 39 games They definitely did not come with all the FBE sets. AA rates Mean 18 (NTSC version) as a 7, which is fairly accurate, and of course this is a title where boxed definitely increases the value. Although you may question the overall accuracy of AA rarity ratings, do you bother to check out the title here before asking about rarity? Or is this a leading question so you can drop a pic of your huge pile of them all shrinkwrapped? Just for that no pic of a giant load of them shrinkwrapped
