On more detail, they are very light, no way there's an eprom in there. I guess it's an epoxy blobb.

Im not really an Atari 8-bit guy. I like consoles more. I'll put them in the BST and hope they end up at someone how will enjoy them more.

Could be for an Atari ST? I remember the first ST's had huge power supplys, though maybe not 3 times the XL one.

Here's a picture, the power supply on the right is a normal 1050 adapter (110V).

I found an Atari power adapter while cleaning but I have no clue what it's for.

It's about 3 times as big as a standard 800XL adapter, outputs 3 Amps of 5v and +-12v to a female DIN.

Built in 1986.

 

Any ideas?

I've been wondering about those myself...that guy from Argentina has been listing a few lately for $50 apiece (that one you linked to has now been raised to $100). There's also an Argentinean CBS Time Pilot for $50 (which is trashed). I have no idea what the combo carts are, but they look like pirate junk. If they're anything original, I can't imagine them being of any decent quality. I'd ask the seller, but it doesn't look like his English is very good and I don't speak Spanish. Oh well.

I've been talking to this seller and I can't get a straight answer from him, mostly because of the language barrier (he seems to be using an online translator when trying to communicate in english). In particular, I tried to know more about the games on those combo carts, and he can't seem to remember enough to give me an accurate description of those games. This implies two things: 1) He hasn't tested those alleged CV carts recently so they may be defective and he doesn't know it, and 2) he's either unable or too lazy to test them right now. With a feedback rating of only 5, the required leap of faith is too great, IMHO.

 

Hmm, I have a box of Argentinas Coleco games, about 15-20 I think. Expensive as hell
