I'm one of the ones who doesn't care. I will pick up a boxed game if it's affordable, but there's no way in heck I'm gonna pay three times the asking price for cardboard. I prefer them loose just because they're easier to grab and play, which despite the whole room devoted to piles of games, is still my primary motivation.I do understand the impulse to get the boxes, I just don't share it. I think it's just a personality thing.
Amen Brother.
If i see a cart only R9 i WILL BUY IT. Granted, the boxes make em worth more, but that dosnt the overall rarity of the game.
Also i dont like some of the implications skunkworx made That poor people are noobs because they cant afford to go after the boxes or dont think its that a big a deal) or live your life style. A complete collection in my eye is one of every game boxed or not or some boxes and some carts.
i define complete as one of every game boxed or not, so boxes are irrelevant. thats not to say i dont like em. for example if i run accross a game i dont have, and its boxed, i will buy it, but i refuse to buy boxes for those i already have unless they are part of a lot . i bought a boxed reactor and qbert along with pole position, space invaders and robot tank boxed despite having the carts already. i bought the lot for the qbert and the reactor. the boxes for the others was just a side bonus.

can someone describe indian battle in more detail other than the KLOV description?
-
Yeah thats good.!
ive also noted i can get past most levels wwith out touching the octopus as it just wanders aimlessly. i was thinking maybe if you added metal loving sharks that pop out of the water randomly combined with the octopus it would make it much harder. the sharks woudnt move, just pop up randomly

Interesting "The proposed memory configuration is 8K bytes". So was that a preliminary write up of the plans for the game, and it got released as the manual?Looks like it or they didnt know how to write a manual

Pretty impressive for ol' StellaIndeed.
Best golf game on stella!
-
It is a FANTASTIC golf game by HES (thier only orginal release i think)
it is sort of comparable to word class leaderboard on the commodore 64.
I have a spare complete copy of the game if anyone is interested

Yo, im in adelaide, 2600/ SMS / SMD / Commodore 64 collector.... although havent seen anything in the wild in my area for a while but im going to do a city wide combing soon.. so i resorted to ebay but now even that has dried up for me so i bought some new homebrews instead while waiting to find something.

i dont think i did anything at the title screen apart from hitting F1 then F2..is it possible to trigger it during the game? i think i may have done it then...
-
What about slowing the missile down by at least 3 times its current speed?
i concur it is a bit much to keep track of

BUG: Unlimited Lives.. while playing normally in the current build in game mode 2 about the 3rd mase i kept crashing but never got the game over screen. the lives counter was stuck at 3. i tried to get some video footage of it but accidentaly closed stella in the process.
. i have been unable to reproduce it since. -
Octopus: Maybe make it home in on the player when the player is close by and when the player escapes or dies have it wander off again and speed up it movment per level or naybe make it so you can touch the octopus a certain amount of times before you die.(healthbar for the ship?) these are just ideas im throwing around here

Im still waiting for my Toyshop cart to ship
but ill bet its gonna be great fun. I know Al is doing his best under a LARGE workload. Well DOne indeed. -
.it involved me finding a War of the Worlds and V by 20th Century FoxI hear that..
-
Thanks Al. must be your full time occupation! i cant imagine anyone working a full time job and constructing THAT many items and then posting em out. YOu'd have months if not years worth of back orders to fill! i hope your getting a good commision
. -
tell me if it's too easy, just right, or too hard. Its a bit easy you can pass right through the octopus with out it killing you! Perhaps as the player progresses through the levels you can speed up the octopus and, over the course of many levels, get it to home in on the player improving its homing skills each level that passes. that would pose a greater threat
-
The octopus is only in game mode 2. Hit 'select' at the title screen to change the mode. (F1 in Stella.)Ah thank you!
-
When i play it the octopus dosn't seem to be in the game. Is there a level where the octopus starts or is something wrong?
-
Thanks Al for all your hard work!

Yuck Golf! Id rather listen to nails on chalk board, at least that way there is a chance the nails might break and silence prevails, unlike golf. Might give it a go but i nver likes sports games or sprots for that matter.
