What about the Thurst Theme? thats wonderful and is the best music i have heard on 2600 ( I have NOT hear pitfall II music so if someone wants to attach a wav or mp3 ill listen to it) but as it stands thrust is the best i have encounterd

True. Comment retracted. Still as you said he axed the game developers to make it look more serious so why fall back on the 2600? i think because they had nothing and were just trying to stay afloat

"Jack Tramiel saved the 2600"...but not by concious choice..if atari had something nes like. they would have axed the 2600 after a small while, way before 1991. but they didnt and i think he was just riding on the popularity/cheapness of the 2600 as a stop gap till they had something. If he had a good console developed i doubt he would have conciously let the 2600 live as long as it did he would have axed development all together along with the console. He did axe alot of development when he got in to mke way for the 7800 (5200?) or some other project. given that logic, if he had something, and given the date i think he would have killed the 2600 as he was so sure the (5200, 7800?) was going to succeede but it wasnt the smash hit he hoped and so fell back onto the 2600. thats my theory. and its as you said they were too lazy to make a proper attack against nes and so used the 2600. what if a better ceo got in and made a proper nes competitor and axed the 2600 anyway? perhaps it could just be a side effect of tramiels poor business skills that the 2600 got to live. Look what Jack did with commodore! and look what his sons did with the jaguar! like father like son. Ill "eat my shorts" if someone gives me proof he let the 2600 live out of goodness. Quite possible Warner would have killed the 2600 in '85 but anything is possible, however, what's done is done Meh, anything could have happend really, we can only speculate.. but is sure is fun!

Never mind, found one myself in the AA homebrews section. Challenging game, a uniqueo ne for 2600 as well.

Where can i ger a rom for Astar? i wish to try it before i decided wether to purchase the cart or not and the AA link appears to be broken. Thanks for any help

ill consider my collection complete once i get one of every game, boxed or cart only. my reasons are as follows: A) i dont have 5-6 digit figure of funds to play with here. B) With each passing year it will be harder to get boxed games in good condition from NON-COLLECTORS/ PLAYERS. it is cardboard from 1980's and it does degrade easy. C) If you can get a boxed complete water world and have the cash go for it. but if i didnt have the funds but if could get a cart only instead with the funds i have id get the cart only waterworld. The cart is still a R10! Im not colecting for value, only to get as many games as i can lay my hands on. If i see say, a cart only game i dont have and a boxed one of the same game ill go for the boxed first. depends on rarity of game and current price tag. but i will NOT buy a boxed version of a cart i already have simply because it is boxed. I save money this way which i can then use to buy other carts. What im picking up on people here is akin to saying :" Ah you have 300 carts and buy more each day but not all are boxed so your not a collector"
