TAC-2 If you want one that will last 20+ years if daily hardcore gaming abuse...i have one its over20 years old and im its third owner and it hasnt been serviced once.
-
Im 17 buy my experiences were similar, in the middle 90's a cousin was working at a department store and they found a storage room full of 2600's and blue label defenders and asteroids etc nothing rare so he got one and a copy of each game that was there for himself, me and my other cousin. I remember Defender noises scaring me ( or was i actually afraid of the game, like if i played it it would become real?) i was very young still bieng born in 88'...

-
Yeah i thought i did good..and i dont know where i pulled the cash from to get it all either but im glad i have em

-
I concur with the above. As i read some where some atari employee(david crane) while he was at atari overheard the managment say : "we can put crap in a box and sell 3 million copies..." or something like that. the suits only cared about the profit margin
-
Thanks all. i also have a Crossbow, battlezone ( Red label), skatebordin, bomb wall defender, zaxxon, tutankham, 2 pack special, donkey kong, river raid 2 and Joust pending arrival in the mail
A significantly large portion of my collection was found locally---one game store alone had somethingl ike 30 games which he sold to me at $2.50(AU) each, then when it all ran dry locally i used ebay. -
It is a bit surprising considering some of the stuff they did. I guess they did it to avoid law suits? after all they wernt some small taiwan company that made pirates

-
Hmm yeah maybe prices are on the decline and i just piched up a bomb wall defender for $1.25!! i was expecting competition off ebay but i got it dirt cheap, appears only casual buyers saw it and didnt think it was worth it hahaha

I have no idea what the last paddle based game was, but i agree about off the wall. Its a great game and that delay before the ball gets served is more than bareable, and to those who disagree, go cry under your bed
. Would have been great with paddle supptort...the whole concept of power ups in the game reminds me of arkanoid -
This is my 2600 collection. For those who dont know im only 17, have no offical job( i fix computers on the side occasionally for cash), and have been collecting for 2600 for about 5 months and somehow have netted me all this.

1x 2600 Jr
2x Light sixers
1x vader
3x paddles ( only one set functioning)
2x atari joysticks(both defunct, way too brittle)
1x TAC-2 controller( NOw this is a controller built like a tank)
Not bad huh and ove only been at it for 5 months..must have spent about $250AU on it all. Dunno where i pulled that kind of cash from

Just out of curiosity what game would you say is the rarest in my collection?
-
Hi mates, im in australia and alot of my activision games are the hes versions. I know HES did some fairly illegal things like piss off nientndo by making unlicensed games for NES, but did they have activisions permission to distrubute thier 2600 games like this?
-
Bah.. i wanted ti cimpete in this but was out of town, Ah well.. Looking forward to the next game

-
The game looks interesting but ill pass this week...
-

-

Thanks shadow and larcen for your tips
and yes the actual hardware is a must

-
ok ok i get it, people really stole from each other back then
(and still do? if your copying todays homebrews and flogging em like so many companies did then please call 911 and ask for an ambulance..your gonna need it after im finished with you
)So do we have a POSITIVE id of anysorts on the last one?
the interesting thing is the system appears to have a valid atari manu.facture tag, but it cant be a licensed product with so many 3rd party games right? maybe someone modded it after they got it? another odd thing is games have no order to them..you change games you get what you are given & the games are of mixed sizes( 2k + 4ks +8k's)>
If anyone wants an attempted dump of it say so now because the unit is dying i think.
-
ok thanks every 1 for your help, so what exactly is the last game? the backround reminds me of marine wars
-
I dont think ther is an asteroids in it cause the one that looks like asteroids has bigs like from spider fighter in it
