  1. HA! ive had that as well, but worse..this guy wanted $20 for pac-man and $30 for frogger!, and both had a label on it saying rare item! of course i didnt buy them. his other carts were reasonably price 3$, he even had a polais there for $3 and thats rarer than forgger or pac-man. I understand people wanting to make profit, but in this case ppl should do thier research first.

  2. Hmm..Around Here in adelaide there is not much to find..my local casgies only has a few games ( which i all have) and the local gametraders has nothing, one about 30mins away only had 3 that i dint have (out of the 5 they had). im not the noly collector in adelaide but we are all facing the same problem - lack of 2600 stuff. so now i turn to ebay..at least so i can get ones cheaply, like red label defender ii for $2.50 CIB.

  3. Just got this game, and all i see is empty room after empty room, some have items, but i cant take the left or right exits, just continously going up. Yes i have read the HTML manual on AA. no help there either.

Look at me im pressing up on my joystick for the next 1/2 hour. What great fun. NOT! Spider Fighter Time.

Im glad i just bought a CIB red label secret quest off ebay, it looks to be a promising RPG, unlike this piece of crap.

If someone can explain this game to me ill refrain from using it as a coaster after all.

  4. Just picked up Robot Tank today, and i have to admit it is quite fun, and done from a first person perspective - rare in 2600 games. The enemy tanks actually look like tanks up cloe, unlike blocks of colour like a certain game i know. The explosions, and that static effect when you get hit are cool. It would be better if multiple enemys were attacking at once though. What do other ppl think about this game?

  5. Does anyone actually have a complete set of 2600 games?

Probably not, but are some people close?

How many Games do ppl have?

Im only a modest collector, im only aiming for one of each game ( No label variations)., However if i cant get a NTSC motoreodeo im not going to throw a fit and scream.." Its not Fair! Why did they make it!" lol :)

  6. I dont know about your challenge, but HES is Defo australian, i have several that are the same design label. i also picked up a U.S games Commando raid NTSC game here in australia. So how did that get here?

Possibly some australian came over to usa and brang their 2600 system with em and sold it. or something like that. If you think thats unlikely, then how did i get my NTSC U.S games commandor raid, yet im in australia? and no, i didnt get it off ebay.

My other HES carts say the same thing about difficulty switch, ill try changing it and see what happens.

  7. why thank you. seriously, the defender noises and surround noises scared me to the point of not wanting to turn it on, but i did it anyway. Guess it was a love hate relationship. A kind school counciler gave me a bunch of games when i was 8. River raid 2 and a yellow labled HES clone of empire strikes back were just a few of em.

The thing i find odd now is back in the 90's i remember 2600 bieng common at garage sales etc but are not now

  8. I can saftley say im younger than you lot, bieng 19.

My route is a little different, i like so many others, had( and still have) poor parents. As a result i didnt grow up on ps1 etc.

I had to be content with reading books, until Around 1994 when a retail chain in austrlia called john martins(now defunct). My cousin was working there as a clerk manager. anyways, they discoverd a store room of still sealed 2600 Jr's, with the 32-in-1 bundle. along with some complete blue label defenders, asteroids and combats. So me him and another cuz got one.

Mine lasted about 3 years, i had amassed a collection. i was only 8 then my power connection died :( saddest day of my life,as at the time i had nothing else.i foolishly sold the lot for $70.

I then had a c128D and played that, and still do, then i got my first pc. and about 7 months ago i was walking past a GameTraders, and saw a vader, i recognised it as a 2600 from pics i saw, and memorys coming back, particularly me bieng afraid to play defender and surround cause the noises scared me at that age. lol, and the vader screamed out to me" Buy Me, so you and i can live again!", so i bought it, and restarted my collection, and have 114+ carts and growing strong.

anyway, to the point, my gaming time is generaly balanced between pc, sega master system and 2600. i have the SMS and 2600 sharing the same TV. Genrally im drawn to the 2600 cause most games dont have a 'end' and just get harder and complex till you can take no more.( Space Invaders, Challenge of Nexar, missile command...need i go on?)

Most pc games have a end, but can be fun too, but its the sheer "How Long can i last?" that keeps me coming back for more, and playing my new aquisitions, which im happy to say havent pissed me off (Barring Airlock, pissed me off, until i figured it out, and that its far too easy, i like EXOSET missile(better known as Cruise Missile) Better, and ilike it i dont.)
