  1. Yes, I was going to try to make a disk image of both Cds with CD Clone and reburn to see if its a problem with the cds/media itself but FABombjoy already did that so, that points to something wrong with the bootcode on Topaz and the cinepak intro movie on Elansar. Kind of puts a damper on this otherwise awesome and rare Jaguar double release , but we don't live in a perfect world , that's for sure so hopefully the source of these two problems can be found and corrected. Of course, the Jagcd being so finicky doesn't help at all. Phila, seems to work fine along with the other Jagcd releases in recent Jag history. That Reboot ULS loader on Full Circle: Rocketeer and Kobayashi Maru seem to pop up quickly!
  2. Whew!, just read this whole thread, took about two days. lol. Eh, not to bad a read, for someone waiting for their cart. Took down a few links I thought were good throughout the thread for people(below), and added a few videos at the bottom to see what Heart of the Alien and Heart of Darkness were like. I'm not sure if I got a, your on the second run waiting list, return email when I asked after just missing out on the first fun so to be sure I sent three emails out, one each to: [email protected] & [email protected] & [email protected] - so I will see if I get any notice that I'm on a list. If not I'll have to see if I can find a response to the previous ones I sent out in my over full slow webmail folders, as I don't have MS outlook or Firebird or the like hooked up to the POP3 email servers of my isp. lolz. http://retronauts.libsyn.com/retronauts-pocket-episode-17-another-worldout-of-this-world http://www.anotherworld-themovie.com/ http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/06/17/classic-platformer-another-world-coming-ps4/ http://www.yaronet.com/posts.php?h=73&a=18&s=153060&p=3#73 http://www.jagware.org/index.php?showtopic=1053&st=0&p=15857&&do=findComment&comment=15857 http://venturebeat.com/2013/04/25/consoles-that-wont-die-atari-jaguar/#8RJ339QithiyDdQC.99 http://mleguludec.free.fr/product/AnotherWorld_Jaguar/ http://www.mobygames.com/game/fade-to-black http://www.yaronet.com/posts.php?s=153060 http://removers.free.fr/AnotherWorld/ http://mleguludec.free.fr/assoRGC/index.htm http://youtu.be/GTb6zX7Hd5I?t=4m33s http://youtu.be/XkOCkNxv6Ow?t=53m30s http://www.yaronet.com/posts.php?s=153060&p=2#31 http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=heart+of+the+alien
  3. ^ This is exactly what is happening with my discs as well. I ordered one each Elansar & Topaz Jaguar CDs from Orion_ & one each Elansar & Yopaz: Icestar JagCDs from Console5 - that will teach me to Jaghoard, lol. But I just figured I was adding extra support for this developer, because buying an item is like voting for something, oh well. I tested both my Elansars on two different good running Jaguar CD players with both K and M 60hz. base Jaguars, unmodified, with and without the B&C Bypass cart, and in all instances (15 to 20 or so attempts w/different configurations) the CDs froze at the same very spot every time -during the intro just about as it starts to zoom into the island, after a small frozen pause then it goes into the gameplay mode. So deduction says its got to be that cinepak clip, I don't know if other cinepaks in the game freeze as I was too busy testing discs. I tested both my Yopaz: Icestars on two different good running Jaguar CD players with both K and M 60hz. base Jaguars, unmodified, with and without the B&C Bypass cart, and one of them just shows a black screen on all hardware configuration attempts -just will not show anything not even the Orion spiral galaxy/constallation/nebula, but I do get audio. The other Yopaz cd does run sporadically I can get it to boot up about 7 out of 10 times, sometimes it'll boot without the bypass cart plugged in, sometimes it wont and the same with the bypass cart plugged in. Sounds like what zero said in that it will or won't boot depending on the various particular code snippet chunk it tests -idk. Ok so off now to send Orion_ an email.
  4. Thanks for posting this sh3-rg, it looks pretty cool! That's great that you included the download link and not just the video, I will be testing it on real 60hz hardware as well, Nice demo they did.
  5. Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story is a goto game for me, when feeling angry or frustrated and the need to hit the bag. lol. I've always liked it, its not a button masher its all about timing and strategies with the different opponents. It's quick, challenging, has a decent amount of moves and after some time spent with it, can be enjoyable. Its nothing like the 7800's Karateka, or Jags' DDV, yeah you can get beat down in Dragon but the more you play the better you get at it, each character has a fighting style programmed in, after days and then a few weeks at it you can kick ass in it. What I like about it is the fast, precise controls, and Bruce Lee's victory yell is funny, I like fighting games tho. At least its playable, hard but playable and has depth, not like many of the others on that list -I sometimes play them just cause they're on the Jaguar, lol
  6. Sorry to hear you go, JaguarGod, I liked your artwork on the fight for life betas at JS2, and the cool Jagpad with joystick, if I'm remembering correctly?, if not o well, I did enjoy reading your posts at JS2 and remember you as being one of the nicer members there, not feeding into the chaos. As far as money issues go, I made some bad mistakes with credit cards in the past and I still face financial counseling, monthly repayments and consolidations, and likely some form of bankruptcy for my poor financial management and living beyond my means in the past -never thought I would be like that, so i feel ya and know what your facing(not saying the situ is your fault either). Sorry about the divorce and financial/credit status woes. When some doors close, others open - cheers to a better future.
  7. Looks pretty cool, nice to see things like this for the jaguar being made. My jaguar is well below the display and the blue lights face down so it wouldn't be too distracting. I dont think I really need this tho, I like using a scart cable to component to lcd. I like that xrgb thingy on Solaris japan site but it is like 300 $ + Anyways, nice find on ebay.
  8. Thanks for bringing this expansion out for ProtSE Carl, and explaining the small differences with the CGE version. I won't be able to make it to Vegas but I will be eagerly awaiting the general release and will definitely order right away! That's also great that you put in ProtSE when you released it, what was needed to run an expansion cd with the cart today! Nice surprise this is.
  9. Awesome Orion_! I just ordered both games from you. Thank you for the quick conversion of Elansar to cd. Will be looking forward to playing it soon.
  10. Like many around here I am tired of the badmouthing, negativity and fighting. My personal rule in posting here is - if I don't have anything nice to say I don't say anything at all! -too bad others aren't like this. But in this case I do not like developers being run off and feel the need to say something: Nice going shamus and ravard, your lying inference & trolling negativity -respectively sucks -lets chase off another jaguar developer before they even get started. Now rpc_games you need to understand a few things about the jaguar community in order to preserve your sanity around here. The Jaguar community IS different from the other retro forums here and that's because of the gameboy H8ers(haters) that it attracts for whatever reason, and that's really truly unfortunate. To me it seems the people in other forums here look down on us Jag fans because of this infighting. RPC_Games first of all you need to be developing for the Jaguar for your own enjoyment and pleasure -because YOU want to do it for your own personal reasons alone,.. if not one other person plays your Jag games except you and your team you should be content and happy with that -you do this for yourself only, or perhaps for the challenge of coding for Jaguar. If others do get to play your game and enjoy it and they tell you its cool that's great!, if not who cares!, it shouldn't get you down. Second you better have a THICK SKIN around these parts bro, you need to ignore the h8ters & keyboard warriors types -whatever they say needs to go in one ear and out the other, its just dudes around here and there will be fighting - accept it. Third if your Jaguar game does get released, be prepared to hear others negativity about it, such as this game is not 64-bit you ripped me off or it's not 3D wtf man?? or its sub-standard 'cause you just used the Motorola 68000! why?-that's lame or why didn't you run your code in main???? etc. I'm telling you this in advance RPC so you know the score around here, to minimize any bad feelings conveyed to you about your jag game. This jagfreakdom comes with the territory, this is what it is around here people endlessly bitching and complaining about this or that. On a positive note most jagfans are cool and don't jump the gun with negative ass-u-mptions about that which they do not know. Lastly if your rom gets dumped and you find it on a Russian games site I'm sorry but that's the nature of the beast that is Jaguar.(if that happens don't freakout and close up shop, talk with other developers before release -there are new ways to id roms and to prevent that from happening) RPC: Good luck with your Jaguar development, I'm glad your here and I look forward to your game!!! Peace out. Now if some keyboard warrior wants to have a go with me, type away, my skin is quite thick now, I can take your best shot and your not real your just words on my tv screen. lol.
  11. Great to hear theres a new a new Jaguar developer in town!
  12. Just found this thread lol, and ordered a copy of Philia for the JaguarCD, thanks Orion_! Looking forward to Elansar on JaguarCD soon as well.
  13. Thanks orion, your really coming thru with the Jaguar games bro!!, I was expecting to have to wait till Christmas to play elansar on jag in the third run. Looks like it will be a lot sooner now. Really nice work, look forward to purchasing.
  14. Glad to see this project is still alive, would be just awesome to play this top Atari classic on the Jaguar. Great conversion idea here, interesting jag development read, a skilled Jaguar enthusiast - lets hope this game comes to fruition.
  15. Very nice work Orion_! Been following this Jaguar development with anticipation. You made short work of this conversion , will be great to play it on the Jaguar, thanks for your efforts.
  16. Thanks, I'd like to do a few more movie cinepak releases and forgot some important details of the process, hopefully this will help me remember what to do in those areas.
  17. I definitely will try to get in on the next run of Downfall+ when it happens...
  18. I really hope Carl will fix/finish and release Virtual VCS for the Jaguar!, that would be great man!, to play 2600 titles on the Jaguar. it would be the Jaguar's first emulator, I believe. Bring on the Virtual VCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Very nice vintage Radio Shack PC keyboard!, in good shape and clean too. What year is it from? early to mid 80's?
  20. Whew, finally found them! Thanks for keeping these up Belboz, I was looking for your two Linux Live CDs as I couldn't find the files I had previously downloaded or burnedCDs atm. I want to use them with my skunks. I couldn't find your other site only the youtube minecraft crew page and the crew forums that I couldn't readily see jaguar goodies. Thanks much!
  21. Yeah, I've found it very tough, with cool graphics. Big learning curve. Yes, it was around $50 usd for a good while, it's $100 usd now damn! Well, I'd just try to find a used loose copy unboxed maybe? Wait a bit and search regularly for it as a loose cart. Put wanted ads in the marketplace for one possibly. Might be worth a try before dropping a Benjamin. idk.
  22. Oh wow ok, so that's what all happened over there, I finally find out today, should have checked my Reddit post sooner. I just now looked at my question, which was the same as Gulfman's that I posted on reddit.com/r/jaguarsector/ asking what happened at the now infamous Jaguar sector for Jay to close it down. I had actually gotten an email from Jay/management over there late in 2013 asking where I've been and inviting me back on the site as a valued member. I didn't make it over there though, came straight back to my AA group. lol Remo, your breakdown of events is hilarious dude!
