  1. I watched an informative video recently on this, when the wrong polarity PS was plugged into the Jag, didn't know a sound chip is also blown sometimes too as he explains, dude reversed polarity too so it doesn't happen again(making it a normal center positive), not bad work here:

  2. Damn, I know I know! Its a letdown, can never have it all I guess, the Jaguar CD Player also in clear would have been just awesome. I don't know why they threw out the molds for it, too much for shipping to sell online i guess, I would have used them, big blocks of steel for a glass coffee table base or something at least. ;-) And then they would still be around. They prolly currently are non-existent either being melted-down or rusting away somewhere, or buried in a landfill.

  3. Ok! Sunday night here in Arizona(9:10pm) and time is short to the deadline. I have placed my order, finally!

I have ordered 8x(eight) clear Jaguar cartridge shells & 1x(one) clear Jaguar console. :-D

    That's: 8x cartridges.

and 1x Jag Console. - I put this same quantity info in my paypal payment to: [email protected]

Thanks Parrothead, I've been waiting for this for years, this should make our Jags look really cool!!

  4. Well, yeah bro -its a mod job, unfortunately. From what I read, you gotta slice off each of the four posts as close to the bottom of the case as possible with a dremel or something small and thin and then relocate each of the four posts exactly so it lines up with the hole on the other half and super glue them into place evenly and correctly, hopefully not losing any height. Other than that, the case is a go, the back being open is of no consequence. So your going to have to think about how its going to work out and use the proper tools and Crazy/Super glue. The Jaguar logo not being there is a trade off for the clarity, but something cool could always be added later. These are definitely do it yourselfer projects, doing the work slowly and a little at a time it shouldn't be a problem. They will look very cool when done, I'm sure, and I expect to see some great custom console jobs' pics in here. ;)

  5. Well, I like all my Skunks Versions 1 thru 4 to be nekkid and in the raw, but I have some regular Jaguar cartridge(various official releases) boards(about 8 games or so I think) that I bought off someone here a long time ago that scavenged their shells, so I can finally put those in some clear cases. As such I'm considering buying 8 shells x $8.00 apiece = 64 ...perfect, lol. :)

Then again I could always just change out those regular Jag games and put Skunks in the clear shells, since I like looking at the boards anyway, it will be perfect! - as long as the skunks don't heat up too much in the cases. ;-)

64x tears for no CD Player shell :_(

Very much agreed on that ^ - The JaguarCD Player would have been awesome in translucent, its really too bad Imagin discarded the moulds for it. :( :(

Oh well, now I have decisions to make, I think I'm a least going to get some cartridge cases, but should I get a clear Jaguar case and try to fix all the screw/support post positions?(there's only 4 tho) and hope I don't super glue it in the wrong spot and that the MoBo doesn't move around/snap a post off when I firmly press a cart in? Idk, i guess if I took my time I could do it. Doesn't really matter about the back being open though. Of course for this to be coolest the console will have to be run without the top shielding in place so all her inside parts, lol, Tom & Jerry & MC68000/RAM/Bios chip, etc. can be seen. :-D Does anyone think it'll heat up more without all the shielding?

  7. Yeah, it happens, I usually get occasional grinding/clicking sound from a few units rather than a high-pitched squealing and I have one JagCD that will not be fixed by soldering in a new CD Transport as it goes clickety-click-click with the old or new transport in, lol, so i have to send that one to Best Electronics soon for a hopeful repair by someone that knows how to fix parts on it other than just the basic CD transport changeout which I can do -its just 6 wires on a little harness.

What type of music is it?

Kreator is a German Death metal band(Speed, Industrial & Gothic elements), they are very heavy and a bit thrashy/punkish even noisy sometimes but quite melodic, nice songwriting with beautiful guitar riffs that have exceptional sustain(when you let a note ring out on the electric guitar). I really like the band, was introduced to them by a friend in 1991 with their album Terrible Certainty. Some of my favorites albums by them are Renewal, Endorama, Violent Revolution, Enemy of God. In the mid 1990s I was listening to Renewal many times while initially getting my 1956 Oval Volkswagen Beetle shell of a car running -was great!, a classic Duetshelandic car and some of their great heavy metal. Recently been viewing some of their live performances on Youtube, like the European Wacken Open Air Summer festival.

  9. I like Dino Dudes too, it's a neat puzzle game and quite challenging. Had to ask someone in the AA high score club how to complete a level(38 or something), as I must have missed in the manual that the spear angle can be altered before throwing. I also made a printed up Dino Dudes portfolio of DD stuff, trying to learn all I could about the game with net researched playtips, tricks, reviews, etc. as the PC, Amiga, and other formats UK game, "Humans (1)" is basically the same game so there was decent amount of info/reviews on it.

  10. Good then. Yeah it has a slightly different label, but to me the rating box looks very very light, I wouldn't put it past him trying to erase it somehow to make it "rare" or unusual or an off print and trying to sell it to the have to have everything jag fan. No worries I'm sure the rom is the same.

  11. Hello! fellow Jaguar fans!,

I wanted to share with you another cinepak I did for the jaguarsector, in case anyone doesn't already have it. The Atari Explorer Online- 1995 Electronic Entertainment Expo, its an interesting piece of Jaguar history you can add to your JagCD collections. The three discs are not encrypted, so you will need an bypass cart or the Reboot ULS disc to run it. The images are in .cdi format burn to high quality CD-Rs on the lowest speed possible and you should get good results.
