That's fine but he can't talk to people only read. Sabateur and or Tursi need to talk to Matthias in order for a Jagcode500 CD to be made by Matt. I'll send Tursi a PM on JSII directing him to this thread. So he can let Matt know if it's OK to use his game on a Jag bootable CD image.

I am offering the JagCode500-staff my help for creating an encrypted CD, but: A decision needs to be made by the JagCode500-staff and the 2 contributors whether the 2 games should first be polished up or if they should be used in the state they are currently in. Kind regards Matthias That would be great! to have a cd, since it's a little easier to deal with, I wonder how Tursi feels about his game being put on CD?

Can you tell me where you purchased the controller box like yours or the company name so I can get started? What does MAAS stand for?, something, something Arcade Supply? If I don't have to make the box, It'll help jump start such a project. Any info would be great!

Atari Jaguar Flash Cart For Sale
ovalbugmann replied to jaysmith2000's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
If you have a couple of them, I'd like to get one too - flash carts are great! -
That pic is from Shaggy's staticgamer.com link in his JSII posting signature. I thought it was appropriate. There a bunch of pictures of cats in unusual predicaments, their pretty funny.

It's all good now!
-
There's a lot of different games that the Jag is missing.
-
It will be on the JaguarCF not CD or cart.
-
Much Thanks for the extra info , that's not too difficult a mod, I could probably do it. As for the switch for the fans, does it work? Or do the fans just power on when the jag is powered up and the switch is useless like you said?
-
Yes, the keypad placement would make using it on the fly very easy and quick. Good point. Better than looking down like on Atari's controllers. That's why I said you never know how it is to use until your playing a game. I'm sure it's a fun controller to use, and the lower you place the unit near you when playing there would be less likelyhood of your wrist contacting the keyboard inadvertantly anyways. It's just a matter of getting used to it. Too bad you only made one.

I've got three pro controllers, and several regular controllers. So when I'm playing 2 player games or more, people don't say, "hey how come you get the pro-controller, that's unfair and probably why you are winning" So I have some extras on hand to even up everthing.

I wish you had sold it to me, Jay has it now, I inquired about your BJL Jaguar and if you still had it for sale, however that was 4 months after you originally posted your JSII auctions, so I was too late to buy anything from you. You made that unit wow! man that is the best arcade controller for the Jag I've ever seen, the buttons are placed superbly (very important) and it looks like it works very well. I wish you made those per request. The case is cool, did you fabricate it? From what? That unit's just fuckin' tiiiight! dude. Now I want to try to make one!

Yup, I am not able to goto JSII. Maybe an animal/gremlin is stealin' our Dataz!
-
Lest we nought forget this: It's a very nice beast! True arcade action!
-
Hi, The Jaguar regular and pro controllers are adequate, however it seems like gaming would have an added dimension with a controller like this bad mutha : not just because of size and arcade feel but the button placement seems good! I think this is/was Gunstar's? P.S. Anyone have any info on this controller, name of it? who made it? can't remember was on JSII, but it's niiiice.
-
Hey! I noticed that too, if your using those buttons you would have to have your wrist raised up which could get uncomfortable, of course you never know how it feels in a game until you actually use it.
-
The Jag needs more RPG games.
-
That's Great! Man. I really like that mod, extra cooling is always good, and will probably make your Jaguar last longer. Did you have to cut holes the top of the metal "cage" that the board was orignally in to make the fans fit? What did you use to make the copper sinks stay on the chips? I might like to try something like that, maybe you could you write up a few notes or details about wiring connections, soldering spots, & parts if you have time.

The Jaguar Pro-controller is great to use as a default controller for all Jag games. It seems to have a better D-pad on it. There is the Chaos Rains rotary controller for Tempest2000. The Rapid-Fire controller for games like Tempest and Raiden & Trevor McFur that Carl had. Some people have made a regular Jag controller into one that has a raised 1 or 2" small joystick. The GoatStore has the Jamma & JammaLX Arcade style controllers. Steven Moss has made a cool Flight Stick controller for the Jag out of a PC one for use in flight games like BattleMorph & BattleSphere and hopefully will release instructions on how to do that mod. And then there's Visual Demensions 3D who has made a cool flight stick controller. And on eBay right now (4-20-07 ) JaySmith2000 has two unique Arcade style controllers up for auction. So there are several controllers for use with the Atari Jaguar.

There are two Eerievale Demos released by Starcat so far Ocean Depths & Lost Treasures the one on LT is farther along, he said the engine and graphics are more developed. He recently said he is working on it when he has time as well as the EerieVale novel and that he is determined to finish the game and it will be on the JaguarCF Compact Flash unit to be released by French Jaguar programmers, working with the JagWare team. Lars said, it's the only reliable and large capacity format. Considering his past difficulties with the JaguarCD and of course for such a large game cartridges are out. I suggested using the cdstop and cdopen registers for making a multiple CD title like the PSX's Final Fantasy games but he said the JagCF will have other nice functions like video streaming he can make use of.

Thanks for the links to the Tempest 3000 videos on uTube, makes me want to get a Nuon player, a Samsung DVD-N501 unit will play homebrew games also I've heard. I saw one for about $60.00 on ebay a while back.

Why isn't Towers II a real RPG?
-
Flashback: The Quest for Identity, is really like an RPG. It's a good game even if it is a port.

I like reading reviews too, but you know what they say about opinions, everybody's got one! Doesn't mean anything. ProtectorSE is great, especially for Defender/Stargate fans. However, you are wrong about D2K it has three modes many people find the Tempest Plus mode very enjoyable. Your making a mistake passing up on famed Atari coder Jeff Minters' work though, and even if he said improvements could have been made with the D2K mode, it's still very nice work. Pick up a cart only D2k on ebay! You won't be disappointed.
