  1. WMCJ is like playing half-court B-Ball in the hood (on some courts). It has good control, action, a not too hard learning curve, you can hit! :) other players, steal, and everyone has smart ass comments to say while playing. Also, has good replay value, it's enjoyable I thought, you will like it.

  2. "Queen now open"

    LOL!! :D Yeah, I wish Ultimate Brain Games was released by Telegames, since it was just about completed. That would take care of having a Chess game on the Jag. Damn, they should have released all their other mostly completed games on the Jag to get some kind of return on their developing costs. :x

    For those of you who haven't seen any UBG pics - check this out!

  3. WMCJ is a good basketball game despite some bad reviews, if you won that new WMCJ from goatari today, I was the other losing bidder on it. Congratulations :) it's a fun game. I also bid on that Jaguar baseball cap , it had the cat scratches on it, I lost that auction too, it went for $20+ dollars. I have a Jaguar hat, but it doesn't have the red scratches on the top of the sun visor.

  4. Bubsy: Fractured Furry Tails on the Jaguar is really TOUGH!, but is also a fun and challenging game. The first time I saw Bubsy stomp his feet and knock on the TV glass, while no controller input is recieved, I thought it was very funny! :D

  5. I've been ordering Jag stuff from goatari since 1997, I believe they are the original phone/web/mail Atari dealership that Atari themselves used to own & promote. Hence the name - Go Atari. They were in business when the old Atari was still around. You can't order by phone anymore and they are now independently owned. I'm not sure if "Pete" the guy who handles all the orders is an owner or worker, but all their stuff is new, pristine, and all perfect originals. They have at least one, if not two warehouses full of most of the remaining stock Atari tried to liquidate upon the JTS merger. I think Pete is trying to liquidate some of his more plentiful stock, in the best Atari Jaguar market these days, eBay. Some of their items are the store returned Jaguar stock from when Jaguar stuff was taken off the store shelves(I've noticed a few store stickers and worn, slightly damaged boxes on larger items). I'm only seeing select items at reduced prices on eBay, not much of the rarer items, probably because he doesn't want to mark those down for quick sale. His prices on goatari.com are very high.

  6. Waits for a "piracy flaming" from the nutty crowd

    Really man! :D , Piracy/copying - it's the taboo subject in the Jaguar forums that is for sure!

    :x AND ARE YOU SUGGESTING THERE IS SOMEONE SELLING COPIES OF MANUALS!!! AAARRRRHHH!! :x

    --- HA! gotcha - just kidding :D :)

  7. a compilation title of many different board games would be nice

    Definitely!! :)

    If someone wanted to play chess, I doubt they'd prefer the jaguar to their home computer

    Yeah, and you can do anything on the computer, the whole point is to play it on the Jaguar, also the Ultimate Brain Games cart or CD that was never released did have very nice shaded Chess pieces.

    I like action type games too, and there should be more on the Jaguar, but chess would be niiice!

  8. Yes, myatari.com, Bruce and Cathy Carso own this business and they (as well as Best Electronics) both have one of the largest inventories of vintage Atari stuff in the world. Bruce used to be partners with Brad Koda (I think) of best-electronics-ca.com These people have bought pallet after pallet of Atari stuff and both are near "Sunnyvale" (former Atari HQs) California and silicon valley.

    Why don't you go to myatari.com and send Bruce an email with your request, I've found both these people to be very pleasent to talk to and deal with. Real gems of the Atari community. :)

    So myatari.com has boxes and you can just download whatever manual you want here at AA's Jaguar section

  9. To me, making board or card games for the Jaguar seems kind of pointless. No matter who slick and polished the presentation, it's still not as good as "the real thing".

    Yeah, I hear what your saying, however, I think you must enjoy chess to begin with, to appreciate playing it against a computer, it would be really cool to play chess against the Jaguar via a computer program! I think a chess game is definitely needed on the Jaguar. I wish all those Tele-games releases would have made it out the door!, DAMN, DAMN DAMN! :x Ultimate Brain Games had Jagchess on it. Also, competing against the computer at the classic, midevil, and worldwide known game of Chess is a great! concept to begin with, it's your brain versus a machine, who is smarter? If any board game was to be converted to computer (Jaguar) my first choice would be Chess. :) To take such an old and well known game and to play it against a computer is really a gaming match made in heaven! New vs. Old. :)

    Also, I heard recently, the current World Chess Champion has recently lost a Championship series of chess games to a computer AI program constructed on a mainframe computer. This is the first time in history that this has ever happened to a World Chess Champion. So, a computer is now the champion!

  10. A prototype game is like concept or a work in progress, something that could be made into a game, if desired. Right? Now, further along when a game is actively being designed and built, what is the difference between an Alpha and a Beta? Just wondering.

  11. You can use it with an unencrypted CD in the JagCD unit it will encrypt it and transmit the encryption to your pc via a cable to compile a fully encrypted CD to burn.

    I asked Matthias about it and he replied,

    "the program that is on it does calculate the HASH-table

    used in the Jaguar-CD-verification process.

    In other words, it is used (by developers of a Jaguar-CD)

    to encrypt an un-encrypted CD. The mentioned HASH-table

    is either transferred via the printer-cable to the

    host-PC if you are using the Alpine and the Alpine-version

    of the encryption program, or if you use my program via

    a serial-cable (that's the reason you see at the end the

    "transmitting, transmitting,...".

    You can learn more about the whole CD-creating-process

    by reading the info i have on my website in this

    section:

    http://www.mdgames.de/jag_eng.htm#CDCREATING

    Browse through the 3 documents:

    * How to create Jaguar-CDs

    * CD-Encryption basics

    * The encryption-process"

  12. Supersross 3D is a decent looking game but takes a lot of practice to get the controls right, I still like it though. As for BuBsy, man that is a TOUGH one for sure, one touch and that's it, however I still play that one too.

  13. A while ago (maybe in a previous discussion here) I remember reading that Rebellion tried very long and very hard to get the control right and finally Atari told them to just ship it.

    Whether or not this is true, I don't know. But if it is true, it may be an indication that fixing the problem would have required a massive code rewrite and everyone eventually just said "screw it".....

    Yeah, this is what I seem to remember also, and that Checkered Flag was initially just a demo but Atari needed games fast, so it was thrown out the door, so the Jag would have some games soon after launch.

  14. Thanks [ProToS], I saw this thread and tried to download the programs here, but the file was gone and I tried at the Yahoo Jaguar Homebrew group TNG mentioned and couldn't find it there, so thanks very much for putting up the file four years later! :) :D
