  1. Yeah, I hear what your saying, however, I think you must enjoy chess to begin with, to appreciate playing it against a computer, it would be really cool to play chess against the Jaguar via a computer program! I think a chess game is definitely needed on the Jaguar. I wish all those Tele-games releases would have made it out the door!, DAMN, DAMN DAMN! Ultimate Brain Games had Jagchess on it. Also, competing against the computer at the classic, midevil, and worldwide known game of Chess is a great! concept to begin with, it's your brain versus a machine, who is smarter? If any board game was to be converted to computer (Jaguar) my first choice would be Chess. To take such an old and well known game and to play it against a computer is really a gaming match made in heaven! New vs. Old. Also, I heard recently, the current World Chess Champion has recently lost a Championship series of chess games to a computer AI program constructed on a mainframe computer. This is the first time in history that this has ever happened to a World Chess Champion. So, a computer is now the champion!
  2. A prototype game is like concept or a work in progress, something that could be made into a game, if desired. Right? Now, further along when a game is actively being designed and built, what is the difference between an Alpha and a Beta? Just wondering.
  3. You can use it with an unencrypted CD in the JagCD unit it will encrypt it and transmit the encryption to your pc via a cable to compile a fully encrypted CD to burn. I asked Matthias about it and he replied, "the program that is on it does calculate the HASH-table used in the Jaguar-CD-verification process. In other words, it is used (by developers of a Jaguar-CD) to encrypt an un-encrypted CD. The mentioned HASH-table is either transferred via the printer-cable to the host-PC if you are using the Alpine and the Alpine-version of the encryption program, or if you use my program via a serial-cable (that's the reason you see at the end the "transmitting, transmitting,...". You can learn more about the whole CD-creating-process by reading the info i have on my website in this section: http://www.mdgames.de/jag_eng.htm#CDCREATING Browse through the 3 documents: * How to create Jaguar-CDs * CD-Encryption basics * The encryption-process"
  4. I really like racing games also and I guess that's why I like SC3D, but I play WTR & Super Burnout more though. And the Teque F1 racer versions (WTR betas).
  5. Thanks Matthias, You've done a lot of great work for the Jaguar community!
  6. Supersross 3D is a decent looking game but takes a lot of practice to get the controls right, I still like it though. As for BuBsy, man that is a TOUGH one for sure, one touch and that's it, however I still play that one too.
  7. Yeah, this is what I seem to remember also, and that Checkered Flag was initially just a demo but Atari needed games fast, so it was thrown out the door, so the Jag would have some games soon after launch.
  8. Thanks [ProToS], I saw this thread and tried to download the programs here, but the file was gone and I tried at the Yahoo Jaguar Homebrew group TNG mentioned and couldn't find it there, so thanks very much for putting up the file four years later!
  9. Hellyeah Dude!!! That's what I am sayin'
  10. Bummer, That sucks man, sorry to hear that. 23.93 GBP for shipping is a bit much. Order from telegames.co.uk next time.
  11. Zylonbane: I'm not a console only gamer, I have a decent PC & Logitech Cordless controller and several PC games I play when I have time. I just seem to play my Jaguar & Dreamcast more though, because it's what I'm used to, I've only had my PC and internet since Mid 2004.
  12. I thought it was a great! game - especially for the Jaguar, it showed that with correct programming using the limited development tools available, a great game could be achieved on the system. I think the effort produced very nice results.
  13. I'm waiting for Songbird-Productions to get their shipment of DF#1 from Matthias. Any updates Carl?
  14. With all the talk about the fabled BATTLESPHERE it does seem as if you have empty hands if you cannot afford a copy. Battlesphere should be available to everyone, in a perfect world. It's not the 1.75 million dollar Atlantis II, or the ten thousand dollar Nintendo GOLD summer games cartridge. But at $500+ it's still out of reach for people on a budget.
  15. Yes, It would be nice if a compromise could be reached to make it more available for people to play.
  16. CD-Rom media for the PC would probably be fine for BS considering the advanced hardware the Jag doesn't have. But I think the developers for BS were originally going to use the JagCD but had a hard time with making everything work, there was a lot of slowdown with the JagCD, some aspects such as networking would not work at all, so they switched to the cartridge format on Jaguar to keep the 60 fps speed, and network ability, and other aspects of the engine that simply would not work as well with the JagCD's 2MB? of RAM availability. P.S. I know the Jaguar base unit has 2MB of RAM, but does anyone know how much RAM or buffer the JagCD has or has access to?
  17. Those Tiny Toon screenshots look awesome!. There are people that have done Hi-res static screens on the Jag for Bjl. Indiana Jags would have been great! on the Jaguar, I wish that one was finished, - as well as Tiny Toons. TT was in development for at least a few years it seems, the picture is on the box back and poster.
  18. I voted for a 3D shooter, but that may be a lot of work, so a 2D shooter will be just fine.
  19. If you made the cable yourself and the sound is cutting out, then there is most likely a short somewhere in the cable, something's probably touching something else or there may be a break inside a wire casing/sheath. Double check all your solder joints. Yeah, the RF connection for the Jaguar sucks ass, I read Atari was disapointed with it too, there was not enough shielding on the cables so there was a lot of interference. I noticed a lot of Jag RF units show a visible pattern on the left hand side of the screen.
  20. It's nice to see a sale for Jaguar games. I ordered my Towers II and IS2 carts from Telegames.co.uk and it was hella expensive $140.00 each!!!
  21. I thought he might be the only one to have any version of it in his beta/prototype registry, I wonder if it's playable. Where did you see screenshots of his?
  22. Yeah, an LCD TV & composite cables make it a lot clearer. You should try the S-Video cables since you have an LCD monitor.
  23. Man, Battlesphere is a sore subject, supply and demand is responsible for this situation. $500 is a lot to pay for a game.
  24. I wish Atari would have been able to release this game, they were advertising it very early on - on the console box back and the poster that was in some early console boxes. It looked like it had pretty good graphics, I haven't even heard of any protos or alphas, betas around. Seems like they had plenty of time to get it out I wonder what happened?
