My job allows me to play hand held systems while I work so from someone who has owned just about every game at one time or another heres my top five picks.(in no specific order)
1. Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow - you need this game
2. Tetris DS - Even though its yet another Tetris release its worth it, damn good game.
3. Mario Kart DS - Nothing special here except for wi - fi, everything else is classic Karting.
4. Trauma Center Under the knife - Something different to really show off the touch screen
5. Advance Wars Dual Strike - So much easier with the touch screen, nuff said
Ive never been into Animal Crossing or Nintendogs, I like games with an actual ending or point (Im sure someone will not like that statement) but I here a lot of people like those 2 games as well, I also have to give Princess Peach an honorable mention but the difficulty is just way to easy.

Are Nomads really this hard to come by? I sold mine on Ebay about two months ago, it was nice with the battery pack and I only got one bid for $50.00. I would have gladly traded for a lot of you stuff.

So, here's a pair of eyeballs for someone who's been here as long as me, calling me a "noob"...
Time spent at a message board VS weather or not your an ATARI n00b are 2 totally different things all together. Thats like apples and oranges. You could be on the forum for 2 seconds and 1 up everyone with know how where as you could be a board member for 5 years and still be a n00b.

I completely understand and agree with what you're saying. Not sure it has any bearing here, however.
I'm only here for one reason, and one reason only. To try and learn more about a system that I've decided to collect for. I've been collecting video games for over 15 years, just not the 2600. Fact is, I'm not new to the 2600, just collecting for it.
My point was that I'm not attacking or saying anything derogatory about anyone.
That guy just felt like butting in, and stated that I was a noob - based on what? The time that I've been here?
Regardless, I have no desire to get involved in a pissing contest with anyone.
I asked a simple question and all I got was a response like I'm bothering someone.
To which I basically said, if you don't want to answer, then don't. Responses that don't help are unnecessary.
I simply don't understand why some people feel the need to interject without any positive content.
Shawn - your first response above was helpful.
Thanks,
Steve
I wouldnt take the comments so seriously, I also have collected games for over ten years but it was NES games and I managed to collect a whole set (o.k. I never had NES championships or the adult games but 4 short is pretty damn close) anyways I decided to collect for Atari 2600 within the last couple years and I am still learning alot also. I dont think anyone tries to be overly rude but they probably get tired of answering the same questions over and over. I know I heard some like "Nintendo made adult games?" to many times to count but people should remember that this is not a hobby we should look down on people for there lack of knowledge on it, new collectors should be welcomed in to the sport. I think your question was valid, I asked the same thing a few days earlier. If we dont ask how are we supossed to learn, this would be the place to ask right?

Doble sided tape and rubber cement? Points for creativity, I will have to try those methods one of these days.

I went to a friends house yesterday and played with a tv RCA hookup doohicky he got from walmart for a few bucks. I never played with one before. I must admit, when I first saw it I thought it would probably be cheesy. but I was proven wrong! Ms Pacman was just like in the arcade & it had great sound and picture quality. I also played 3 awesome games that I never played before. I was surprised that I never heard of these before. I was very surprised that their not in my huge collection, for that matter!Rally x was real neat. I drove around and got flags and stuff.
Bosconian another cool game
Mappy. I didnt know what the heck I was doing here, but it looked pretty neat.
Although the games were cool, I didnt like the joystick at all. So question is, are any of these games available in disk or cartridge format and if so, for what systems?
I know Mappy is availible on the NES

In case anyone was wondering or uses this thread for reference in the future it sounds like 3 copies are accounted for, chances of finding this one at a decent price sound slim.Where did you get that number from? Not from me.
Looks I read it wrong, 4?
Sorry, not to get technical, but you're making a VERY big assumption here.
There's nothing in this thread that supports or even implies that there are only 4 Mangia NTSC carts accounted for.
Sorry about the assumption, I have no idea how many. I was under the impression it was 4 but I will go out on a limb and say under 10? Who knows. So if anyone looks at this for reference I have no idea nor do I know anyone who knows how many confirmed copies of Mangia' are out there, anyone know what the few exsisting copies went for or how/where they were found?

I cant believe I wasted time reading this story, I dont get it

I have always used a cheap glue stick that I bought from WAL-MART for fifty cents and it has never let me down, they always look just like new again. I think some people may disagree with my methods though. Give it a try on a common and see what you think.

I got mine a couple years back and I think it ended up costing about a hundred bucks with two controllers, one of the controllers ended up not working though, when I play Minestorm with it the ship just spins around in a circle without touching the controller at all, kind of weird, anybody ever hear of that happening to a Vectrex controller?
-
Turns out the sears picture label games are a little more rare than I thought so if anyone is still intrested you can subtract these off the original 75.

Why do I get the feeling that there's a stash of NTSC Mangia's out there in a warehouse somewhere? No company would make a production run of 10 or less carts. I assume the NTSC Mangia's that have been found to date are ROMs and not EPROMs?Tempest
Anyone know how many Mangia' carts (loose or complete NTSC) have been accounted for to date? And yes CPU WIZ, I checked the search function and did not find the answer. Thanks.

The machine from "The Last Starfighter" You know the one where the dude comes to pick you up if you beat it and you get to go save the galaxy, I think that would be my pick.

No name on it and it has a 9-pin plug (ala Atari, Genesis)I have this exact gun and I got it with a strange plug and play system that has 10,000 games built in to it. Yes ten thousand although its only about two hundred the rest are all graphic hacks. It has some weird games on it like NES Badminton and Devil World to name a few. I'll dig it out of storage this weekend and show it to you.

Cool Idea, Its motivated me to take some photos of my stuff so I'm going to post now to reserve a spot up at the top. BTW-nice collection of mags, I dont see those very often. I dont know how rare they are but its cool to see stuff like that. Seems like most people just threw it all away, I know I did, Damn if I only would have kept all my patches. My Mom sewed them all on a jean jacket for me and I ended up selling it in a garage sale some time in high school for twenty five cents!!! Someone got a steal.

Sorry, this is a very late response but I got side tracked on my E-Swat machine (had a button not working) I tried your advice by finding the brightness knob on the flyback and turning it down. My screen looks excellent now its not so bright like it was before but the problem is still there. The Game works fine for about two hours then the picture goes out but the sound and gameplay still work. Any other Ideas or do I need to replace the monitor? Thank you.

150 Atari 2600 commons you say, if they are in mint or near mint condition and on my list you could score my PSP and a PSP should get you a Nomad in trade for sure. Check my thread currently in marketplace.

Nova, did you correct his spelling of 'Curios' in the quote? That bugged me too.
Sorry dude, I thought it looked wrong. guess I should read more and play less Video Games, nah.

I know it got bad reviewes but the mags always dis the classic re-makes, seems like if its not a completely new idea they score it low, what do they know anyway they probably were still in diapers when Rampage came out.
