  1. It didn't make it through the 1st quarter of a game of Super Challenge Football.
  2. Is there any possibility that in the future the Harmony Cart could be upgraded to fully function with the 2600+?
  3. I have no idea who that is I just clicked on this because your avitar is so funny:)
  4. The 5200 version of Star Raiders works great. There is zero slow down when the action heats up.
  5. I agree. I remember thinking that Paperboy could have been better.
  6. Try number 2 and difficulty A will put the UFO's on.
  7. I remember watching a good friend of mine playing Crypts of Chaos back in Atari's hayday. You REALLY had to use your imagination when playing that game. I remember when you first started the game you could spin around and move one spot forward and the game would just end. It was like the game was saying did you change your mind and decide to exit the dungeon ok game over then.
  8. I kind of liked Porky's. You must admit that it is definitely different. I'd love to know how the programmer came up with the crazy pole vaulting thing in the swamp!? Plus the way the guys hair kind of floats off of his scalp when he runs looks funny.
  9. The month of February marks the 41st anniversary of the release of Swordquest Fireworld. I thought this old thread with the winner of the Fireworld contest Michael Rideout was really cool.
  10. I really enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim so I was so pumped before Starfield came out. If it was as good as they were making it sound I might would have bought an Xbox just to play that game. But what you said about the format becoming stale seems so true. I loved the first two Resident Evil games on the PS1. After that I kind of lost interest in the series. I think part of the fun was that I had never seen or played a game like Resident Evil before so it was a totally new gaming experience for me.
  11. Games by Apollo 🤮🤮💩💩 Does anybody remember Skeet Shoot?
  12. I had to think about this for a while but I finally thought of a couple. D on the PS1 had cool graphics for its time but it hasn't aged well. My friends and I had a blast playing Herzog Zwei back in the early 90s. The slow down was horrible when the screen would get crowded with all your and your opponets armies. Both games were actually fun but really not playable today.
  13. I know its f-ing nuts! And all three of these were auction listings not buy it now!
  14. Based on how the current market is looking that was probably a good idea. How much did it cost to get both games graded and what was the turnaround time? Thanks:)
  15. Ignorant question but is there a way to play these games without buying them?
  16. Yeah Atari just doesn't get the attention that I feel like it deserves. It REALLY gets under my skin when younger people talk like retro gaming started with the NES.
  17. I've kind of been out of the loop for a while on retro gaming but I've been looking at completed listings on Ebay recently across several platforms. The prices especially for CIB sealed games that are graded is nuts. Even common titles like 2600 Pac-Man are going for a lot.
  18. Are y'all buying these off of Ebay? Those Avalon Hill games look fantastic.
  19. Yeah, you're right about the slowdown. Unfortunetly, lots of 5200 games had that issue. I loved Star Raiders but damn it would lag really bad when several enemies were flying around. Defender was really bad also. We all know how horrid those controllers were but they worked well for this particular setup.
  20. Hello everybody:) I've really enjoyed reading this thread. From 1982-85 ages 12 to 15 years I was very fortunate to be a member of a home video game rental club in the town I grew up in. They had all the different gaming magazines at the store and I could take one home with the game I rented for the week. My Mom snapped this picture of me napping in my Dad's Lazy-Boy in 1983 when I was 13 years old. Notice the reading material on my stomach? As far as gaming magazines go the two I read the most were EGM and Gamepro. I had a subscription to EGM from the early 90s until probably some time after the PS2 came out in the early 2000s. I heard lots of trashing of the review crew but I enjoyed the reviews and that was one of my favorite parts of the magazine. It seemed thick and the April Fools gags they did were always funny. At some point a new editor came in and I noticed an immediate drop off in the quality of the magazine. It kept getting thinner and thinner and the final straw was when they started interjecting political views in the magazine. I didn't renew my subscription after that but for many years I always looked forward to it arriving in the mailbox. Great times my friends great times:)
  21. I remember playing Space Dungeon on the 5200 a few times back in 1983. I remember there being a caddy that held both of the 5200 controllers so it played kind of like Robotron. It was a pretty fun game from what I remember.
