Building up my Sega stuff...
warmachine replied to nathanallan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Surley, it can't be as bad as the super scope 6? -
The history channel created the documentry "world war I in color" which I thought was really good. They colorized a lot of WWI footage and pasted it all together in a way that works really well. I ordered the box set, it takes up about 4 dvd's and is about 10 hours long.

My little brother had a mortal kombat 3 cart that would sometimes boot to a debug menu with a red screen on it's own. I thought it was strange at the time since I hadn't seen anything like it before. It didn't look anything like that though.

The N64 works great, .....untill the crappy analog stick breaks, then it's $25.00 for a new one. It's too bad stunt racer 64 isn't emulated cause I'd ditch this peice of crap otherwise.

help decide my next gen console!
warmachine replied to blastermaster's topic in Modern Console Discussion
this pic should help people out I agree with the chart. I had the cash in hand, so I spent a week trying to decide on one or the other. In the end, I decided to build a new computer. It's the best money I ever spent. -
Because it is more important to gamers that a video game company profits on hardware rather that have decent games who's franchises haven't been run into the ground.

Some older stereo recivers have counter-weighted tuning knobs which would be perfect if you can find one at a thrift or in those old console stereos that alot of people seem to be throwing away. I had a pioneer reciver from the 70's that had a counter-weighted tuning dial, I could zip from one end of the FM spectrum to the other with just a flick of the wrist.

It's a good book. I've read it three times.

I converted a wwf superstars into a tetris. It's not the best conversion ever since I don't have the proper marquee, control panel overlay, or the monitor bezel. I've seen worse conversions, though it still needs t-molding.

Guitar hero: Cannibal Corpse edition! They'd have to include a tougher guitar though.

Here's an idea... don't speak for "us gamers," because we don't all share your opinion on the subject. Are there a lot of shitty games for the Wii? Absolutely, and that needs to change for the benefit of everyone who owns the system. However, I applaud Nintendo's decision to reach out to mainstream players. Prior to the Nintendo DS and Wii, the store shelves were a dreary wasteland of Grand Theft Auto and first-person shooters. There was nothing else, for anyone else. Now that there are games for a wide range of tastes, some gamers want to turn back the clock and turn the shelves back into an oppressive wall of grey and brown. To those gamers, I say this. You've got two outlets for the "hardcore" games that you want to play (ie even more Grand Theft Auto and Halo. Really, aren't you sick of this shit by now?). Why deny everyone else who wants to try something different? Stop being so selfish. STOP. BEING. SO. SELFISH. You're kidding right? We have always been flooded with the types of games that are on the wii and the ds, it's just that they were much cheaper to the point that they got released straight to the bargin bin section at $20.00 and $30.00 price points instead of now where these types of games are released on nontendo platforms for $40.00 and $50.00 price points. Nintendo's just cashing in on a gimmick and is just riding the wave untill the novelty of wii sports wears off. It's really too bad the xavixport didn't do better.

The Ugliest Looking Game System Ever!
warmachine replied to fdurso224's topic in Classic Console Discussion
This one should rank pretty high. -
The PS2 had sold twice as many units as the PS3 by now.
warmachine replied to homerwannabee's topic in Sony Playstation 3
I find it hard to give a crap that a company turns a profit on their hardware. It just doesn't really seem to matter at all. Microsoft never made any money on xbox sales and i'm pretty sure that sega never made any money on dreamcast hardware, but they have between them a larger library of quallity games than nintendo's last two consoles combined. I think that the whole "nintendo makes a profit on hardware" statement seems to be thrown out as some kind of an excuse to justify the maybe 3 or 4 non rehashed quallity games that the nintendo fanboi may get to play each year. -
This site should should have all of the information that you need in helping you decide what to do with your control panel. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/ As for your monitor bezel. You could just get a peice of smoked glass or maybe windo tint for your existing glass that would do a decent job of hiding your monitor.

what do you think of my new paint job?
warmachine replied to theking21083's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Given the story behind Tetris, I find that one to be surprising. -
Is the xbox 1 now unsupported?
warmachine replied to BSA Starfire's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I don't think that it would make sense to keep dumping money into a console that's security was so severely compromised. While it may have been a boon to the homebrew community, It probably hurt game developers quite a bit. -
Nintendo fanboi's are scary! *shudders*

Questions for DS owners.
warmachine replied to PressureCooker2600's topic in Modern Console Discussion
*Cough* Cart full of teh romz for the win *cough* -
Or it could be that EA just sucks and anyone who buys games from them are fools.

Isn't that just promoting one evil over another? I don't think i'd want some kind of monopolized steam like content distribution program clogging up my computers valuble resources with clunky DRM protections that would prohibit me from moving my content to another computer should the need arise to upgrade, or more realistically, preventing me from converting said content onto a portable device without purchasing another liscense to do so.
-
My comment wasn't directed toward you directly, but rather more toward this one. I'm pretty sure that if I "couldn't stand" a certian company, I probably wouldn't want to spend any of my hard earned money on their products and therfore wouldn't care if they were selling a product that I could get cheaper from another company since I wouldn't buy it anyhow. I wouldn't doubt that sony is selling the memory stick for much more than it should realisticaly cost, possibly to offset somewhat the lost profit potential created by people downloading pirated software to fill those memory sticks with. That's just my viewpoint and I could be wrong, but it's fun speculating. I also wouldn't doubt that nintendo is doing the same with their antiquated cartridge format, selling the games for much more than they should realistically cost in order to recoup the lost profit potential caused by people downloading the games off the internet and playing them on their ds with the many piracy enabling devices that are available.

Technolgy usually gets cheaper, smaller, faster, and more powerful as time goes on, so it won't be too long before it decreases to a price that we are willing to pay in spite of whatever negative things that the "sony bashing is the popular thing to do since nintendo is doing so well" crowd repetably conjure up.

Sounds predictable to me.

I just got a FREE VS. Super Mario Bros arcade!
warmachine replied to theking21083's topic in Arcade and Pinball
So from what I understand I can swap out the board with the different Vs. game boards. It also sounds to me like I can swap the board with Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Popeye, and Mario Bros. boards. That would be awesome cause I would love to have Donkey Kong. If anybody knows anything could you please help fill me in on this. You can swap out the vs. boards easily since they conform to the JAMMA standard, but it would be extremely difficult to swap with any of those other boards since they dont conform to that standard. However, if the original wiring harness is still in the cabinet, you might be able to connect the Mario Bros. board without too much trouble. -
