  1. I don't think they are prototypes, they generally have EPROM's inside. Especially if it's a small blob, right? I mean, ROMs went to the smaller sizes, but not EPROMs, at the end of the Atari era, correct? I know the pirates at least are using the smaller chips today...
  2. Right, Hawkes... My memory ain't what it used to be...
  3. Huh, that's pretty interesting, I've never heard of this. Now I'd like to see this scene as it sounds amusing. Yeah, I'd like to know what that is too... The closest I can think of was the "tank" guy on Space: Above And Beyond getting a Ramones CD.
  4. I'm not expert, but they might be -- if they're assuming a straight 4K size, and the same kind of EPROM inside, I think they'd be compatible. Yes, same as the VidCo copy carts, since they're the same thing. Righto. That used to be one of the cool things in my collection -- I had a Homevision Repro Cart since ~1989, before the stock turned up, so it was relatively unique for a few years.

    Best joystick ?

...Duh, the Netherlands... Forget my question, but I'll say that it might not have been sold here in the US. Looks neat -- anyone got any extras? :-)

    Best joystick ?

Any indication of who made that? And where do you live? I've never seen that stick before...
  7. Do you mean that no one bought them, or they were never produced? Because I was ready to buy one... Also, at least ResQSoft got NTSC Klax out, so there's ONE hobbyist release to point to, other than the High Score Cart.
  8. Actually, I used a Starplex button controller for Decathlon... I was impossible to beat in a straight sprint. :-)
  9. I'm also familiar with the PS2 version... Not a great game, but I found it very captivating, both human and dragon missions. But man, has anyone been able to kill the bull? We beat every other mission but that one...
  10. I assume you mean the newer one and not the one from 1972? Yeah, interesting book...
  11. Not to go way back, but... I'm not sure I follow you on this one... If Commavid wrote the games, who would they need to secure copyrights from? Commavid would own the copyrights. I'd been talking to Joe Biel of Commavid off and on, and he mentioned to me that they had all the rights and might be interested in selling them. John et al just beat me to it (well, I don't know if I could have afforded it, but I did inquire).
  12. Mystique? You're thinking of something else man... And no, I'd take it if you PAID me to, but it would take some filthy luchre to get me to play it.
  13. Groovy. Let us know when it's up. (PS - what about your A#2FLC labels Marty?)

Can someone verify what issue specifically?
  15. While you're at it, put some duct tape over the other end so you won't accidentally end up playing it... It's a HORRIBLE game.
  16. Actually, it's not a bad idea to do that -- Sony's doing okay supporting PS & PS2, for instance. The thing you gotta keep in mind is what people are willing to pay... So you've got a $50 system and a $150 system. The cheapskates aren't going to buy a PS2 anyway, but they WILL grab that PS. So you're not fully "competing with yourself" if you can keep a price separation like that.
  17. How big is it? I might at least like to see the images, though I'm not sure I have the space to host them either.
  18. Hozer has only closed it's web page -- they'll still sell you Stella Gets A New Brain V2 for $5 (shipped!) via mail order. Randy Crihfield P.O. Box 1332 Pepperell, MA 01463 So, order it and make your Supercharger happy!
  19. There was an "Aussie Rules Footy" game for NES, released in Austalia by BeamSoft, or LaserSoft, something like that...
  20. Actually, I'm pretty sure that is an MPT-02 clone, the MPT-02 being essentially a Studio II clone, though as I understand it, some MPT-02s actually display in color. Hm, I don't think I've seen this one before though...
  21. Interesting... Possibly you could scan it and post it somewhere?
  22. I'd like to get a copy, but I won't be at JagFestUK.
  23. Search for the the Supercharger and/or Starpath threads in the 2600 Forum. I gave the address for Hozer Video Games where you can buy the CD for $5 shipped.
  24. No, not true. IIRC, we didn't think those games existed in PAL form until long after the first version of Stella had sold out; then some guy came forward with a tape of Survival Island in PAL format (can't remember where we got Sword of Saros in PAL).
  25. I'm not sure what Randy is doing outside of the Stella stuff; I didn't ask because I wanted to stay out of the whole thing that brought his web page down. But, the CDs are still available via his postal address, which I've given twice in other threads, titled Supercharger IIRC.
