Almost forgot -- I'm pretty sure there was also a self-release of Pressure Gauge; at least I got mine from John directly instead of through Hozer.
-
As to "Ebivision Games", I assume ebi05 is Escape From Supercade... Even though it hasn't officialy been released, it was shown over a year ago and so might be listed.
-
As to "Self-Published", you should probably add: Crazy Valet: Philly Classic Vault Assault: Sep 11 (for label hunters :-) Stell-A-Sketch [CD]

I like in Waterworld that they gave clues -- that made solving it more reasonable than Earthworld and Fireworld. The problem is, it was a little too easy. They went from not being to solve the game, to being able to solve it in an afternoon. I wish they'd found middle ground.
-
Bergbros: I actually did try to find the winners, but had no success. The solutions for EW and FW were donated anonymously, so I couldn't ask how they were solved. That left me in a bind that way. WW I solved myself, so that was trivial, but sadly I didn't make the tiebreaker -- and I was never offered $2000 by Atari, so I assume the contest got at least that far if Michael Rideout's comments about WW in the AtariHQ interview are correct.

The Gunfight Label Contest winner is...

San-D, you beat me to it! -- I was going to say the same thing... Let's have a poll. There were a lot of great labels. I dig the "pop-culture" aspect of it... -
Hey guys, thanks for the permission from those who've okayed it. One thing though, I don't know who "Jeffooze", "Lost Monkey" or "ATARIPITBULL" are, so I can't match nicks to labels. Oh, and Lost Monkey, don't worry -- the images won't end up on anything other than 2600 Connection. Charmin stiffed me on the last image I tried to sell them.

These were way too early... I'm almost positive no coding was done at the point the boxes were made. I'm not aware of any other SW games that might be found as a prototype.
-
Stan: was thinking the same thing when I saw the bowling ball bag ad...
-
Where'd you hear the boxes were shipped? Has anyone even found a labelled Frog Pond? If the box is one that showed up at Best, none of them had games in them as far as I know. I think you're far more likely to be hit by a meteor...
-
Ah, whoops, I got Zellers & "Cooper Black"s mixed up... Guess the next question is, does anybody have "Cooper Black" style carts in a different type of box?
-
Hey, I think this would be a fun mini feature for 2600 Connection (if I have room!). If any of you artists wouldn't mind me printing your labels (black & white), please let me know at [email protected]
-
Marco: Not exactly, no. It's bulkier. Briguy: That's what Mindfield meant -- Gameline became QuantumLink which became AOL.
-
I THINK Atari meant to all along, as the Sears catalog/ads noted when it would stop being exclusive.
-
Is it no coincidence that the cart looks like a Supercharger?
-
I think these are the carts known variously as "Cooper Black" (for the cart label font), "Zellers" (for the store they're sold at; maybe? -- are there other styles? am I wrong?) and "Taiwan B" (IIRC) in the Digital Press Collectors Guide. I'm not positive about all this though...
-
How about a scan of that pic?
-
2. Super Breakout was a Sears Exclusive for a few months. Atari later released it themselves.
-
I think it's mentioned in one of the big ads in one or more of the issues of Atarian, along with White Water Madness.
-
I think there ARE two distinct label types for the Imagic release, and I did hear a rumor that the difference in the ROM matches the labels, but I've never seen that verified.
-
Yeah, that's right Jess. I can forward him the link and see what he says.
-
How much of the codespace is wasted to do the anti-hack protection?
-
Take a look at Thrust -- possibly that kernel could be used for a version of Caverns of Mars for the 2600.
-
Actually, I think Atari licensed the rights, but didn't buy them. Just to be clear. Given the Rabbit Transit carts that are around, it seems Atari was considering re-releasing some of the Starpath games on cartridge. But there's been no real proof of that.
