  1. It just doesn't come up in conversation very often. Everyone remembers EG, but EF gets neglected.

I have a full collection too, made doubly sweet by the contest win and mention.

I think the only other mag I got mentioned in at that time was Video & Computer Gaming Illustrated.

Modern mags, on the other hand... I've been mentioned in a few, most recently -- finally! -- EGM.

  2. I've been taking the binder route myself, though I don't have all the inserts I need to really get going on it.

The 5x7s (2 pocket) work almost perfectly for most stuff; Gameboy and other smaller instructions fit well in the 6 pocket ones.

What I used to do was just put them in game boxes. I had two bigger boxes (Star Raiders and one other) full of regular instructions, and my Boing box full of oversized instructions. That did the trick for 2600 games...

  3. Hmm, guess I hadn't thought about doing a PCB swap... I'd still need an extra Atlantis cart -- I think I have the Combat to spare, or to spare the feelings of other responders, perhaps if someone has a dead Atari cart that isn't too dirty...

  4. To respond here rather than the ROTLA thread where Scott mentioned it...

When I found the HsW initials "by mistake", my brothers and I were trying to roll the game by playing it over and over. Somewhere around 860,000 the game started with a purple ET. It's quite possible we had picked up over 31 Reese's Pieces, though I can't remember for sure.

But Thomas, was ET purple the round after you got 35 Pieces?

  5. Speaking of doubles, is there anyone I could get this set of games from for relatively cheap?:

    Adventure

    The Empire Strikes Back

    Pele's Soccer

Labelless is best, since I'll be replacing the labels anyway.

I also need Atlantis in an Atari cart. :-} Guess I'll be talking to Hozer about that one...

where did you hear that the million patch matched the kaboom patch color scheme? Who would know something like that?

I think I heard it from a guy I was trading patches with a long time back -- I didn't even know about the Laser Blast million patch at the time, and got one off of him, but he said he was looking for the Kaboom million patch. Don't know where HE heard it from though...

  7. It's frustrating -- I talked to a guy a LONG time ago who claimed to have Pizza Chef and Immies & Aggies; of course, I never heard from him again, and I didn't get his name/number right apparently. Grr...

As to Good Luck Charlie Brown and Pink Panther... Neither has been dumped as far as I know. I almost got GLCB dumped by Sean Kelly at one of John Greve's getogethers, but the guy who owns it couldn't come.

I'm currently working on trying to figure out who owns the rights to Pink Panther as step one to getting that game dumped, but I'm not hearing back from the people I need to talk to. Grr, again.

  8. Though they remind me a little of Creativision carts, the slanting sides are nothing I've ever seen before...

Do you have translations on the titles? Given the cart shape and small board, I'm tempted to say they're either for a crappy electronic (not video) game, and/or an educational system, though the label graphics don't indicate that.

Perhaps the system was called "Top Game" as appears on the left label... Sounds chintzy and portable.
