  1. Does anybody know of anywhere you can still find the black sports system new? I've been debating picking up another DC since I think my original one gave up the ghost (need to retest with some familiar discs if I can find the time, but...), and I'd like to get a new one if I could.
  2. Is it actually disinterest, or just lack of time? I got the impression (and hope) that it was the latter.
  3. It's terribly off-topic, but I just want to say that seeing those two avatars back-to-back is far more disturbing than the sum of seeing them both separately...
  4. Correction: no one's coded a VCS emu for GBA that has been a) completed and/or b) released. There were at least three of them out there in development that I know of.
  5. I assume you mean the woman with her back to the camera? Or do you mean the redhead who also appears further down the page? And who's the guy with the redhead (if not you)?
  6. No I think this is just a rumor. Matt said that he definetly did NOT do a 2600 version, and doesn't remember there ever being one. that stands to reason.. the ST version he has is a review copy.. the gentleman also confides that the 2600 cart he has never fired up in his sears console.. so even if it is real it's most likely dead anyways. Can you get your hands on it? I'd say dump it anyway, and let's have a look at it (a disassembly should show if it has anything like a 2600 program on it).
  7. They had some staff in common (after the fact I think), and they ended up under the same Mediagenic umbrella with Imagic towards the end of the crash; other than that, I don't think there was a formal connection prior to Mediagenic.
  8. No, not much -- between not remembering due to time, and not really caring, there wasn't much to say apparently. It wasn't just Apollo either -- it was just in general. In other words, you probably won't see him at CGE any time soon. And it's out of deference to his disinterest that I don't mention the name.
  9. Even weirder... Pat Roper supposedly had this dream about making some kind of mini-copter or mini-plane as a new commuter device, and Apollo might have just been an attempt to raise money to fund his dream venture. And yes, there's one guy I've been able to contact about Apollo, but he's kind of... disinterested in the old days. He's given some info, but he doesn't remember a lot about those days, or claims not to.
  10. Could be he just doesn't like them. I'm very much not into sports games myself, with a few notable exceptions.
  11. No, one eh? Well, I had made a demo once... Check out the "[stella] Teleterm 2600" thread under: http://www.biglist.com/lists/stella/archiv...08/threads.html It wasn't so much a game as it is a text transmission mechanism; send and receive true rs232 serial (no UARTS) with just a few wires. It was an awesome project I stand by my quote... RS232 != game. :-)
  12. Are you talking for some kind of two-player (via two screens) game? So far no one's made a game that does it, but it's possible to do just by reading and writing the controller ports. The only real question is whether or not you can process the signals quickly enough in both games, and how you sync them up (could be a tough one).
  13. Pretty sure that's the one. Hmm, I thought maybe the other pix had gone up on the 26C site, but am not sure...
  14. Awesome. Now if I could just find the time and ambition to start coding...
  15. The "-AT" indicates that it's for the Atari (and not the C64), but I'm not sure what you're saying is bigger -- or why. The C64 does have a wider board in the end of the cart, so maybe that one is mislabelled? Or perhaps you meant something else?
  16. Yeah, I'm still boggling over that find. Quite cool!
  17. Perhaps. But it looks like a catalog ad... Dunno. Very odd!
  18. Specifically? Probably not... It would be more directly useful for the 5200 than the 2600 though. But as an intro to 6502 assembly code, they should be a decent help. I don't know my Mansfield from my Zaks as far as quality, but I think others have spoken well of his books, and they will get you started down the correct path.
  19. It's unlikely I'll be able to really use this any time soon, but I'm always happy to see more Mac tools. Thanks a lot man! I'll post a note on Stellalist about it's availability.
  20. Good for you. Suspicion is your friend when it comes to the internet. By the way, a good many of these scams really on this sort of thing: http://[email protected] That '@' is something to look for, as anything to the left is not where you're going, but anything to the right IS. Haven't seen a ':' exploit yet, but I'm on the lookout now!
  21. The N501 does appear to be the best of the US models, but one of the ones released in Europe might be a smidge nicer? Can't remember the number or the details, but I think that was the case. As to spare games, I think I have some, but probably not Iron Soldier 3.
  22. Um, yeah, but WHOSE pong? That's not an Atari I don't think.
  23. Actually, that's Jess's site; I only wrote the one review I think (there might be a couple other bits there, but not that I can think of). On the other hand, I don't think I've EVER played a version of Congo Bongo that I've liked, so I can't speak for that review.
  24. I'm guessing "Dancing Plates" was intended here... Haven't followed the rest well enough to make other guesses.
  25. I'm drawing a blank here... What is this (retro.gif) a picture of??
