Hey, I just found this online! ************ A recent ELSPA report has highlighted the growing nature of the games industry and the console and game sales since the next-generation consoles were released worldwide. They list Sony as having 74 per cent of the market share, followed by Nintendo on 14 per cent and Microsoft last at 12 per cent. This is great news for all Nintendo fans as the absolute error of this report would have a very minimal impact, due to the massive sales on the percentage scores, therefore these are very reliable figures! Also the report stated that the games industry is still breaking records worldwide and has not yet peaked! For Nintendo, the official release outlined the fact that they are still second worldwide, not with endless marketing campaigns and mergers but with quality and variety! ************** I think I trust CNBC Business al little more. I mean, business analysis is what they do.

Atari's best overall system?
Nintendo Penguin replied to davidcalgary29's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I also have to say I like the Pro-Line joystick on the 7800.... it is much better than the standard 2600 joystick. Of course just because I prefer the 7800, does not mean I have anything against the 5200. -
XBX > PS2 > GCN in gaming reviews.
Nintendo Penguin replied to theaveng's topic in Modern Console Discussion
My only problem with PS2 is that a lot of the games I like for it will be or are already out on PC. That is why I like the Cube... there are a lot of Nintendo exclusive / must have titles. -
I don't know about the 2 hour drive... but that is a good deal.

Atari's best overall system?
Nintendo Penguin replied to davidcalgary29's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I am going to have to say the 7800..... I like the games, and I can play all of the old 2600 games on it. It is the best all around system. -
AH! I did not realize it wasn't released in Japan! Thanks for the info.

well, I can agree with all of the others... but I just didn't like Jaws. P.S. 1943: The Battle of Midway is one of my all-time favorite shooters! I also find it funnny that the biggest loss in Japanesse Naval history, and the biggest dog-fight ever is a game on a Japanesse Console.

Beat it???? I did'nt know anyone played it!!!! LOL Seriously... do you like that game? I never cared for it at all.

Virtual Boy Questions
Nintendo Penguin replied to Nintendo Penguin's topic in Modern Console Discussion
True... so true. Is it me or do a lot of Vectrex systems tend to break? The only one I have ever seen that works was at CGE. It is just me? What gives? -
Virtual Boy Questions

I agree that popularity is usually a big factor, but not always. A good example would be Vectrex, some of those games are very collectable and are fetching a very high price on ebay the last couple of years. -
Virtual Boy Questions
Nintendo Penguin replied to Nintendo Penguin's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Awesome! I had no idea a rarity guide existed for the Virtual Boy. I was working on a rarity guide to post at VintageGamer.net, but almost everything on my list a was a "logical guestimate" based on my own findings and some input from the few collectors I have run accross. Therefore, I have yet to upload it. Stangely enough, a quick comparisson of your list to mine is actually quite similar. (within 1 number in many cases) The only major difference I can see is virtual bowling... I had it at a 6. Of course, I am working off of very limited amounts of information. Also, reguarding the F-Zero sequel, G-Zero.... I was told that a prototype or two does exist and the game was completed. I have no reason to doubt the source, but neither of us has ever seen the proto. That said, perhaps G-Zero belongs in Prototypes, rather than Rumor Mill? -
DEAR GOD!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for telling me about that site! I have never been there before! That commercial was as good as I rememnber!!!!! You RULE!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone thing this system will become very collectable? Does anyone own one? What are your thoughts?

Cube Quarterback Club 2002 $3.99 at Fry's!
Nintendo Penguin replied to jjessop's topic in Modern Console Discussion
$3.99!!!! What great deal. I feel sorry for all of the poor bastards who paid $49.99. Fry's has had some great deals lately... many EA games for the cube are only $19.00! So glad I own a cube! -
R.I.P Dreamcast (or Why god WHY!)
Nintendo Penguin replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Sorry to hear that man. Mine has been very reliable..... yours must have been a fluke? Anyway, $30 seems about right. -
Gaming's 20 Most Embarrassing Companies
Nintendo Penguin replied to Foxy Cleopatra's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I do not want to get banned fro AtariAge for saying this, but how about Atari? I mean, had they been a little bit smarter, 7800 would have beaten the NES to Market..... things could have been a lot different. That is defenately a major business blunder! (Although not as bad as "New Coke" or the "Edsel") I belive it ultimately led to their demise. Had the 7800 been the huge success it should have been, Nintendo would most likely still be a third party! Not that I don't love Atari, I just wish they would have been more successful.
