I am planning on attending the classic gaming expo this year. Have any of you been before? Please, leave out no detail.

This is an awesome place... I have always been in awe of it. A few months ago, you guys added the lynx section, has there been any discusison about adding an atari coin-op section?

We don't have a very scientific business plan. (not one business major among us actually!) Anyway, where I live there is a downtown area with lots of anique shops and stuff. There is an awesome Vintage arcade with a vacant store right next to it. The rent is pretty cheap all things considered. The place is kinda small, but thats life. The four of us were thinking of pooling our money together and giving it a try. No one would be out more then $2500-$3000, and we could start out by using some of our personal collections as inventory. This is more than a pipe dream, we have spoken to the landlord and are inquiring about a business license. Nothing is definate, but it looks good so far. Hopefully, we could be in business by the end of the year.

Cool, its definately worth checking out. Its on commonwealth, just east of harbor. Near Knolwoods, its right next to the hub cafe if that helps.

How about a video game store, like Funcoland or Gamestop, but it only specializes in old stuff. Atari, NES, Coleco.... and so on. There are no stores like this in my area, and I do think there is a market for it. Does anyone else agree or disagree? I am curious because three friends and I are considering doing it.
Thanks!

Hi all,
I noticed some threads talking about old arcades. If anyone here is in The Orange County, CA area, there is an awesome Vintage arcade in Fullerton. The place is called the Reagan Years. It is on Commonwealth Ave, near Harbor. Its not very big, but they manages to cram about 30 or so good games in there. Anyone been to this place?!?!

Hi Everyone,
This is a shameless plug for my new website. Please visit http://www.vintagegamer.net. The site is not complete, rather I just uploaded a little sample to get an idea as to weather or not people like the look and to see if there are any technical problems I should be aware of. Please note, none of the links are supposed to work. Hopefully, one day, this will be another third rate gaming site dedicated to the NES and SNES and beyond....

Thanks to all of you for keeping your eyes open. I appreciate it! With Regaurds to the Sonic image... thanks, but I was really hoping for one of the Mario Bros.

Hi all,
It seems there is some doubt about buying Stadium Events for $8. Well, follow this link: http://www.gamestop.com/search.asp?sortby=...nd.x=1&find.y=9
The game is back ordered ant Gamestop.com, but the do carry it!

I live in Orange County California, and am looking to buy a Pole Position II machine. Anyone know where I can go?
Thanks!

Hi,
Maybe I am missing something here guys?!?! You can buy that game on gamestop for $8. I could understand paying that much for it if it was still factory sealed, but that one was open. Also, I think the B rating is pretty accurate, I have two copies of this game in my collect... one of which I bought a FUNCOLAND. I think whoever paid $300+ on ebay got swindled.

Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted here for a while, because I was taking a little break from video games. Anyway, I have been working on my website, and I need a graphic. I am not especially artistic, and even less so when it comes to creating art on the computer.
Here is what I need... we have all seen those stickers on the back of Ford or Chevy trucks that have a little boy (Calvin) pissing on the Ford or Chevy logo. Well, I wanted to get some T-shirts made for the classic gaming expo, and I thought it would real funny if I had a picture of Mario or Luigi Pissing on the xbox. (not trying to offend any xbox fans, its just that my website deals only with nintendo) I can handle inserting a stream of urine and the xbox graphic, but I need a good quality picture of mario or luigi pissing. Ideally this would me done in photoshop or fireworks format so that I can make any minor changes that might be neccessary. (for size and what not)
If anyone is good at making graphics or knows where I can find a graphic like this, please let me know. Post here or email me: [email protected] THANKS!!!
P.S. Sorry, but I cannot afford to pay the artist, you would be doing this out of the kindness af your heart. However, I will post a big thank you note on my site when we re-uload it in July.

Hi all,
Thought I would ask this just for fun: What do you guys think the easiest NES game was?
-
AH! I forgot all about those competition paks! Has anyone ever sen on for sale. I would love to add one to my collection. (probably to expensive though.)
Yes, the NAMCO Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-man are supposed to be kinda rare. However, I managed to get sealed copies of both on ebay for $20 each. My guess is people didn't realize they were rare. :confused
-
Yes, it was out in the arcade as well.
-
Hi all,
The gold ones came first and the are a little more common. They are also a little more collectable. The grey carts were released in the "classic series" (as mentioned above) along with a few other NES hits. Neither is particularly rare, but collectors seem to favor the gold.

Howdy,
To my knowledge the rarest adult game is Bubble Bath Babes. The rarest liscenced game is probably Dragon Warrior 4 or maybe Lolo 3.
Thats just a semi-educated guess though.

Hi guys,
I am going to have to say that you are all wrong. Granted, I did enjoy every TMNT game on the NES, but the GameBoy's TMNT: Fall of the Footclan was the funest TMNT game I ever played. Also, I think you guys are forgetting Turtles in time on the SNES.

I totally understand that nothing illegal has taken place, but in my opinion that doesn't make it right. -^Cro§Bow^- is correct, whatever their marketing stategy is it doesn't make any sence, it all seems pretty stupid to me.
However, just because nothing illegal has taken place doesn't make it right. You are supposed to give credit where credit is due... at least thats the way I feel about it.

What does everyone think of this idea?

Wow! I am so glad someone who owns a video game store actually posted a message. Can anyone who owns a game store (or has worked at one.) offer us any advice? There isn't really anyone locally I can ask, as all we have around here a big chain stores like gamestop and babbages.
Thnaks!
