NES: Weird Capcom prototypes or what?
Nintendo Penguin replied to Cybergoth's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Devo - TMNT Tournament FIghters was a legit NES release. PRetty rare though, at least in the USA. MegaManFan - Impossible Mission for $15?!?!? Wow. I got mine at Funcoland for $2.00 a couple of months ago. Just thought you would like to know that. -
Glitch... Thanks! I can see it now!

Actually the Third Generation Toaster and the Top Loader do not play unlicensed games. (So I am told) At the same time, I have more than on NES that doe snot play any games... licensed or not.
-
Cannot confirm this, but the seller claims it is a NES test unit. Decide for yourself. Here is the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3052072404

Deep Breath man... deep breath. See, now you feel better, huh? Honnestly though, I know the feeling. Wanna be NES collectors are worse. Games that are not even close to being remotely rare go for $25.00 sometimes. Go figure.

Thats what I figured.

How does the 7800 Mario Bros. compare to the NES version?
-
I have nothing against the GBC version. I am just a big fan of the original and the newest game. DAPHNE!!!!! Oh, yes!
-
I have that SNES game as well. It is not the Dragon's Lair most people know and love. Neither is the Game Boy Color version. If you like the Arcade original, you will probably like Dragon's Lair 3D, it is available for all modern consoles. I thought this game was excellent!

I am always partial to Nintendo, but collect for the 7800 as well. That is a sweet deal. Pick-up the 7800, but promise me you will get an NES later.

Great games that were never popular? (but should)

EA boycott? Anyone interested?
Nintendo Penguin replied to Nintendo Penguin's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Its more than just NASCAR 2004 that pisses me off... that was just the last draw for me. I liked Medal of Honor and Lord of the Rings too, but I am just generally pissed-off with their sports games. Now that they are whipping the competition (Sega, Midway) the quality of their games is going down. NHL games are a prime example. I have not played Madden '04, but 2 people I know have kept playing '03 in its place. I dunno... for sports titles I honnestly now perfer Midway. NHL Hitz is just way better than EA's NHL games. The NASCAR thing just really pisses me off because they signed a damn exclusivity deal... no competition is a bad thing. I hope it doesn't happen to other sports. That would be a damn shame. I hope this is not the begining of an ugly trend. -

I get the business reason things.. but here is my problem with that... NASCAR is the #2 sport in the country (in terms of viewers) after NFL. NASCAR had to have sold better than some of the other sports crap they put out there. I doubt Womens Tennis out sold NASCAR. Same goes for the aforemention bad Hockey games (Midways are better), NCAA basketball, Knockout Kings and a plethera of other shity sports titles they produce. I cannot believe NASCAR did not sell well. The number just don't match-up. I mean I know it wouldn't do as well as MAdden, but Womens Tennis!!?!? -

What pissed me off is the NASCAR Thunder series. It went down the toilet when they signed an exclusive deal with NASCAR... now there is no competition. Not to mention that they did not even make it for the GameCube, but they did make it for Playstation 1! That really pisses me off! I am seriously considerng writing a letter to NASCAR and EA and anyone else who will listen. Does anyone have any experience on witting a letter of complaint or starting a petition? -
EA has been pissing me off lately! Anyone else interested in an EA boycott? If so, why?

My friend did not care for the game... gave it to his girlfriend and she is totally addicted. Now they play together... I guess it betters their relationship or something?!?!

Is there an NES rarity guide out there?
Nintendo Penguin replied to donkeykong1's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Penguin, I'm disputing your rarity list, in fact it looks pretty good so far. I'm wondering how you are determining the rarity and do you think you will ever put prices on the games? Rarity is being Determined by Iron Chef and I on a couple of different fronts. 1. Digital Press Guide 2. Mike Etler Guide 3. Store and ebay availability 4. input from gamers like you. The Mike Etler Guide, while good, IS very dated. The DP guide is also good, but is missing some titles and is a bit "off" in some areas. Ebay and availability of some titles in stores is also a ruff guide for helping to tweak rarity ratings. And lastly, input from fellow gamers will be essential in determining rarity. Anything you see differently, you can bring to our attention and it will be looked at. Althought the Etler Guide and DP guide were our starting points, I did not want to copy them. (Lord knows there are enough rip-offs online already) You will find the PlayNintendo.com to be more or less unique to PlayNintenod.com, however, in order to maintain a consistency in the gaming world, things like AA's and DP's 1 -10 scale will be adopted. As for a price guide... well I dunno. Location seems to play a big factor in determining price. If we do eventually include a Price guide, it will most likely have a Southern California slant. Hope that answers your questions. -

Any games you have any questions on, feel free to ask here or at PlayNintendo.com. Most of us have a pretty good feel for the market.
