Is that true? I thought that was just a recent thing between me and Povlok. Was that the case before this contest started? That feedback issue got blown way out of proportion, probably because I called Povlok a moron when he started attacking me all of a sudden with lots of 4-letter words, after not hearing from him for 6 months. I didn't realize we had had an issue that whole time, since I only ever got one email from him back in February which I thought I had responded to adequately. Same with HH. I had no reason to believe there was anything to resolve with either until Povlok started telling everyone last month that I was, well, lots of unpleasant things. I am working to restore HH's feedback (first through Ebay, then if unsuccessful, through SquareTrade). I don't know who is the "third person" Povlok is refering to, since nobody else contacted me about a false negative, and he hasn't provided a name. I've done business with many of you over several years, and I never had anyone question my integrity until now. I apologize for whatever it was I did that offended you guys.

I still have not received your address. I think everyone has responded except you. From my email: As thanks for taking the time to try this, if you send me your name and address, I will send you a boxed copy of Pick 'n Pile for the Atari 2600. If you don't collect 2600 games, let me know and we'll try to come up with a more appropriate gift. Also, from those who respond with their address by January 7, I will pick two names at random and send one the "second prize" (5 games) and the other the "random prize" (t-shirts and mouse pads). Though I won't enjoy sending you something at my expense after your insults, I still will, but only if you let me know where to send it. Hmmm....My Mom's is in desparate need of a new computer. I figure these games are worth close to what a low-end computer costs these days. Perhaps I should sell them and get my mom something she can appreciate. It seems that would be the right thing to do, though I'm sure there's nothing I can do that would please this group.

Nice. Actually, that wasn't exactly the problem. My "plan" was for everyone to email me how much they ended up contributing, then I would verify it with the total. But since the total was less than $50, nothing really got contributed (i.e., you still have all of the money you earned). If this makes me a liar, then fine. I've recieved some really nice emails from 5 of the other participants, so I don't feel as bad as I did a couple days ago. But evidently you took it personally, so I apologize again. Also, as you must have missed in the email I sent you, I'm still awarding two of the prizes randomly as well as a token gift to any participant who wants one, just by sending your address. Interestingly, because of the way things worked out, if I were to strictly adhere to the original rules of the contest, I would end up having to give the rare games to my Mom. And I don't think she would appreciate them. On a side note, I made $250 through Upromise in early '03 just by doing a no-cost refinance on my house. That's where I got this whole "brilliant" idea. Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

Labelling error...an Atari cart with a wrong label???
bloatedmonkey replied to perryrhodan's topic in Atari 2600
I have an Enduro that plays Ghostbusters. Lable looks untampered. Freaky stuff, man.... -
It's been an unusual December. Rare stuff is going lower than 2 months ago (not the norm from my experience), and common stuff (incl. systems) have varied wildly. My "system + 8 games" packages have sold one day for $100 and the next for $40. The last few years it was much more consistent. Not sure how to interpret these tea leaves.

I turned on my computer at 6:50 and did some other stuff before checking Ebay. So I ended up being one minute late to the party! Nice buy dude!

I actually asked this question a year or so ago: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...&highlight=mash Luckily, I didn't take $15 as a basis when I sold it privately.

Oh, yeah. I assumed since in was in Pounds.... I'm glad I decided long ago not to collect boxes - I'm sure my wife is too.

I have an NTSC version of this (loose), and hadn't considered it a rare item. I kept it only because it looks cool. Is it just the PAL version that's commanding the high prices?

Guilty as charged. Looking at that link a few messages up, I can't believe I got so bent out of shape over this issue, though the thread did turn into a fairly good debate. I think all this upsets some people because they're trying to be successful in this game while playing by the rules. It's like when someone cuts in line - it just kind of makes you mad.

Listing Error?? or just scared no one was bidding???
bloatedmonkey replied to povlok1's topic in Auction Central
Nope. You guys can believe whatever the hell you want. -
Just want to assure everyone that there's nothing wrong with this contest. This guy didn't realize that this is in fact the same contest that started 6 months ago, and was trying to hurt my reputation because I evidently wronged him some time ago. If you have any concerns (and don't mind foul language) you can see the whole story here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39064 and here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39318 - it's not pretty. The contest is still going and will end at the end of the month - I think I've made a whopping $40 so far. Bummer for me but good odds for those who are playing.

Agreed. Sorry everybody, I was just enjoying antagonizing him. This is my last post.

Motorodeo sold for nothing almost?
bloatedmonkey replied to highinfidelity's topic in Auction Central
I know it's in my best interest to let this die, but going through my emails, I found Povlok's initial request to fix the problem I wasn't in the mood to spend $20 to help this kind of guy. -

That part I won't argue. In this case, it was a single accident (messing up the list of who paid me) that caused more than one incident. But even I'll admit it was wreckless. Hopefully the lesson learned here is to take your time when leaving feedback, regardless of how many auctions you run. I know I will. -
Cool! You threatened to drive to Texas to take me on also. Maybe you could make a road trip out of it!

Actually I have 3. You're a "glass is half empty" kind of guy, aren't you? You just can't accept that I might be honest. I personally have a few negatives that were left either by people who didn't realize that they had inactive email accounts or by retaliating non-bidders (my favorite is "this guy plays with doo doo") They haven't affected my sales one bit, so paying $20 to get rid of one is a bit steep, regardless of the reason. Also, I was surprised by Mr. Wolfman's comment above, so I checked my archive and found this. Perhaps he never got them. I don't think I wrote Ebay again, since I was still waiting to hear from them. then -

I'm really surprised that I didn't, regardless of how much money you spent. If that's the case, then I apologize. -

You think I have a bad attitude? Have you actually read what you posted here? I am truly devastated that you won't be bidding on my auctions, but you'll be happy to know that I plan to exit the Atari "business" by March - there's too many people taking all of this too seriously (though I will be keeping my collection). For the rest of you, here's a small sample of what I'll be getting rid of starting in January: -

bloatedmonkey replied to highinfidelity's topic in Auction Central
Thanks, but I remember reading this after Mr. Povlok called me (he was quite anxious about his precious feedback - if I knew he would have settled for a follow-up, this thread would be shorter). Unfortunately, the condition for removal is: Negative feedback intended for another member will be considered for removal only in situations where the member responsible for the mistaken posting informs eBay of the error and has already placed the same feedback for the correct member. This does not apply to a comment that was mistakenly marked negative instead of positive or vice versa. Since the mix-up caused me to leave POSITIVE feedback for the other person, this situation seems not to apply. I did contact Ebay at the time and did not receive a response. -

Done. Was that so hard? I thought you said I could somehow remove the negative, but I don't think that's possible. -

I don't mean to antagonize you further, but are you ready to tell me how to revise the feedback or do you want to complain some more? -
Video Reflex and Video Jogger ending soon
bloatedmonkey replied to bjk7382's topic in Auction Central
Thanks. I remember the whole package hit Ebay in 1999, but that was back when I reluctantly paid $14 for a Music Machine, so I wasn't about to spend a couple hundred bucks for it. -

You are a moron. The contest started in July and ends at the end of the year. There are seven people in the running - but not you, because you are a sad, untrusting soul. The "ad" was still in my signature and has been removed. As for the negatives, I was running a couple hundred auctions back then. I had a whole lot of deadbeat bidders, and I got a few people mixed up (I also left those same people positive feedback on other auctions). I apologized to each and tried unsuccessfully to reverse it. You kept saying I could, but would never tell me how. Tell me how to fix and I will, otherwise quit your whining! I have always been honest in my dealings (5 years now) and I'm insulted that you would suggest otherwise. -

On the US Ebay, this game routinely brings $50 without the box.
