  5. The system is showing the 3DO emblem on screen after power up. I found a message from back in 1995 on the 3DO newsgroup about a problem similar to the one I'm having. So far it's all I have to go on. http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.v...4f13dad64fd0407
  6. Nope, no spin sound at all. When I insert a disc the green access light comes on, but after that the screen stays black. So, I guess it's the disc drive. Well, anyone know if it's an easy fix, or worth trying to fix at all:? I'll need some more knowledge before I open this FZ 1.

  10. Sorry, I had it wrong. It's only the swap trick.

  13. Found some 3DO games today. 99 cents each. The boxed ones were sealed 1.98 each. There's some cool looking japanese titles in there too. I was'nt having any luck trying to run backup cd-rs on my 3DO FZ-10, so I'm glad I finally came across some originals.
  14. I started collecting records from thrifts, flea markets, and garage sales in the early 90's and from then til now I've definetly seen less and less good vinyl available. Those big boxes of goodies has turned into a few goodies here and ther. Plus you need to be very persistent to find good stuff. Since I was finding less recods around I happened to get into this videogame collecting thing about a year and a half ago. The records were'nt around, but the retro gaming stuff was. But, just in the past year since I've been thrifting the workers get to know a regular and they know what you're after. I just saw a 2600 with power supply paddle and joysticks going for $35, when just a few months earlier I got one from the same place and in better condition for $10. If I do find a cool cartridge it will be like $5.99 for somthing common. They are jacking up the prices on anything videogame related now.
  15. Found an Odyssey 2 at a local fleamarket today. The guy wanted $25 for it and I had already spent like $20 on 2600 carts. I only had $10 on me so I gave him $5 to put it away while I went to an ATM. Luckily I was able to get across town and back quickly enough to get it.
  16. #12 If you find a really nice cart, it's usually un-priced and gets thrown into the `to be priced' bin, never to be seen again. This has happened to me, When I found a Saturn memory cart (made in england) I almost liberated it, but I went to catholic school, so I asked for a price, came back a couple days later. They could'nt find it.

  19. Today I found 2 boxed Sega Dreamcast arcade joysticks by agetec, the kind with the green buttons. They are in like new condition, for $7 each.
  20. Congrats on the complete SMS collection. How long did it take you to collect all of the titles?
  21. Today found, Vindicators Tengen NES loose $2.99 Greatest Heavyweights CIB Genesis $2.99
  22. I take stuff thats left in parking lots, or around the front area of thrift stores. I don't jump fences to get into donaton areas, most of the time it's a locked area. The only reason I started doing it is because once I got to one of my favorite thrift stores about a half hour before opening. There was a pile of old pirateship models from the 70s still in the boxes. I saw them there and thought I should leave them, then a guy came up and took all of them! I felt like I missed out on a great find that I could have had. So now I always check to see if there's anything cool around the donations. Somtimes I drive by thrift stores at night and a bunch of ladies are already raiding the bags of stuff! So far I've found only a few things worth taking, one being a new panzer general playstation game. It's not like I'm taking kids clothes or wheelchairs or anything. I feel like theres much more serious things in the world to worry about.
