Television with built in Super Famicom
youngskywalker replied to youngskywalker's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Well now that I have this baby in my grips, I can tell the story. Saturday went to the thrift store and saw it. Only I had already spent my $15 gaming limit that day.The price tag was for $80 and saturday was the 50% off day so it would have been only $40. I was broke, so I left it there, making excuses in my mind why I did'nt need it. "It's too big", "I don't have the space". But I couldnt get the thing off my mind. Plus when some people here on the forum showed interest in it, made me want it even more. So I hustled up the $40 and went there on sunday and the thrift store was closed. I just recently started shopping there so I'm not familiar with their hours. It was still there though cause I saw it through the window. Well, today I went in there and it was still there. No sales going today, and I asked a man how much would it be:? He said "$80, but I can give you a discount, how about $50", I said "how about $45?". He agreed and I was out of there. Here it is in my room with my only super famicom cart Street Fighter II -

Congrats on the NES find. I also dumpster dive, well sort of, I check thrifts at night to try and find donations that are left in front of stores, or on the sidewalks. I have'nt dived a dumpster in a while but I've seen guys doing it, but yeah it does take guts because you could get rudely asked to leave. What tips do you have on dumpster diving:? Is it best at night time, or during the day:? Any tips are appreciated. -
Today while out thrifting I saw a tv with a super famicom built into the top of it. Anybody else ever see one of these around, could it be rare:? Or anybody know the story behind one of these:?

But who wants to ? Me, that's who. I'd love to get my hands on some 3do titles. I only have one 3do title Street Fighter II Turbo. And I'm searching all over for them. Not on ebay though, they can go for very high prices, see for yourself. 3DO collectors are serious. -

Got up early today, went to a garage sale. Picked up Street Fighter II boxed for gameboy $5, and 10 other loose gameboy games $1 each. q billion mortal kombat the getaway nba jam grand theft auto operation c blade worms armageddon mr chins gourmet cafe rolans curse 2 All came with manuals in plastic baggies Then went to my favorite thrift, got there about ten minutes before opening, so I snooped around the donations area through a fence. Looked like they threw a bunch of 8 track tapes in the trash compactor. They almost looked like 2600 carts, I got upset. Then I decided to walk around the building just to kill some time. The next lot, over the fence people had thrown alot of junk all over the field. I walked down a bit and found a hole in the fence, so I took a look. I looked around the ground and found a Starmaster cart lying in the dirt. It's very filty dirty, but hey I was happy to find it. I also picked up 1 wireless controller, the double player system by Akklaim from 1989. Also grabbed a barley worn pair of adidas shoes from a pile of junk. And a popeye VHS tape. All FREE. Went inside the thrift store and found a hoppity mickey with box, $5.99. Then as I was leaving I saw the donations guy inside the store, so on my way to my car I checked the donations area, left a bunch of puzzles, looked in a box of books and found a new boxed Panzer General playstation game. Grabbed it and was out of there. Then, I was on my way home and noticed garage sale signs all over the place so I hit a few in one neighborhood, found a toy dj thing called dj playstation for $1, you can trigger beats and scratch noses with it. Plus a few records from another guy. I asked a kid if he had any video games, and he came out with about 6 playstation games, all beat up and scratched. He wanted $5 each but I passed on them after finding a mint game for free. So I finally was on my way home, and remembered a goodwill that was on the way. Went in, and found Bill Walsh college football boxed, and Bill Walsh college football 95 boxed for Genesis, $1.99 each. So, I'm happy for now. -

Just got home from vacation in Denver Colorado. Found a bunch of cool stuff while traveling to and from there. The Intellivision games are all sealed $3 to $5 each. NES Quauntum Fighters also sealed $6. Hungy Hungry Hippos was sealed $3. TI computer with manuals and parts new in packages, $7.99. Gemstick joystick packaged $2.99. Payed a bit much ($3.43) for most of the 2600 carts, but found some I did'nt have so that was ok. Spent about 2 dollars in quarters and finally got the blue pac man ghost out of one of those robot arm vending machines in Denny's. And a bunch of others stuff dirt cheap. youngskywalker in Unique thrift store -
3DO FZ 10 not playing cdr backups
youngskywalker replied to youngskywalker's topic in 3DO Interactive Multiplayer
I burned them the same way that I've succesfully burned sega saturn games, and sega dreamcast games. I tried the slow speed burn too. I don't know any more ways to burn a cd. I tried alcohol, discjuggler, and nero. All coasters. I'm gonna get some original 3DO games soon, but for now I just want to try the thing with some cd-r backups. -
I recently bought the Panasonic FZ 10 3DO, I don't have any original games to test. I did try some disc images on various brands of cdr media with no luck. I tried memorex, tdk, maganavox, and some verbatims. All were CMC magnetics accept for some office max cdrs were Lead Data. None worked. I'm using a BTC cd burner, I was thinking I might need to try another cd burner, but hav'nt tried that yet. I read another thread where a guy said his 3DO was playing music cds but not games. Sounds similar to my problem, hope mine is'nt broken. If anyone owns, or has had luck playing cdr backups on the 3DO FZ 10, any info would be appreciated.

Went to a few thrifts yesterday, first place I went had about 10 SNES carts but, the labels were faded on most of them and they were 3.99 each, I was gonna pass on them, but I did get Super Godzilla, the label was'nt too bad on that one. Also a 10" Chewbacca action figure carrying broken C3PO on his back, .99. Went to the next spot, found 1 clean 2600 joystick .99, 1 Sega Genesis control pad also very clean .99, a orange NES lightgun .99, Game Boy travel case .75, and Star Wars Rebel Assault PC CD-ROM .82. Last spot, found a NES power pad 3.99, boxed Ceasers Palace for Sega Genesis 2.99, and Ms Pac Man Sega Genesis cart 1.99. Oh, and Saturday went to the flea market and found, NES 720 4.00, a bit high but I don't recall seeing this one around much. Also a Japanese Famicom cart 2.00, don't know the name but, it has mini gundams on it. -

Thanks for the info, I feel like it will be a good addition to my console collection. The FZ-10 3DO is the cheaper model, but it's supposed to play cd-r backups, so that's great. I can't wait to test out some games on it! -

Yesterday went to a thrift store while I was away out of town. Found a Panasonic 3DO FZ - 10. Payed more than I would have liked to, ($29.92) but if I did'nt get it, I know I would have kicked myself when I got home. And it came with 2 controls, but no games. It does work though, played a audio cd just fine. Are these things rare? -
I searched the fry's outpost website for a pic, but the website does'nt have the item. I did'nt have my digital camera on me when I saw it but if I go back to fry's this week I'll try to remeber to bring my camera with me. The thing looks like somthing you would buy at a flea market from the toy dealers. It's very cheap looking, but the box is very eye catching. It uses original NES carts, no buit in games.

A few days ago, went to a local thrift and immediatly saw a 2600 vader console sitting there, no dust no grime , no sign of use. The price tag was $29.99, with parts, wich is high for me, but the thing was so clean I had to have it. When I went to pay, the guy went to get the parts from the back of the store. When he came out he said he could'nt find the parts. So he had another guy look, I waited patiently, then he came back and said he couldn't find it either. The guys were very helpful, they looked all over the back where they keep stuff, but still came up with no parts. Then the manager came over to help, he said that they had 2 2600s for sale and that somone had just bought one and that they must have given the parts to him. The manager also told me that the 2600s were new in the box. He said he smashed the box and threw it away already. Crushed, I told him to always save boxes for videogames and toys, even if they have to charge a little more. So finally one worker said he could let me have it for $9.98 since there were no parts for it. So now I have a mint 2600 vader console, with well cleaned joysticks and power cord. I'm very happy! -
Went to fry's today and saw a NES flashback. It's a little black console with 2 snes type controllers. You can use your original NES games on it. It's supposed to be NTSC or PAL compatible. I almost grabbed one, but $29.99 was too high for me this weekend, plus my original NES still works. But it looked very interesting, I'll probably end up getting one later.

This is one of my best finds yet... Searched craigslist and came across this lot for $10, Got these this afternoon, 24 boxed games, (NFL football and MLB baseball still sealed), and a boxed intellivoice module. I drove 140 miles rountrip, and dealt with memorial day getaway traffic but it was well worth it! -

Went to my favorite thrift first thing this morning. Found a intellivision 1, $9.99. Plus, Super Tennis Sega card, $2.99. Went to another thrift, found Lolo and Deadly Towers NES, $3.99 each, a bit high for NES unboxed but, today is my birthday so I splurged a little.
