20 hours ago, RREDDWARFF said:Am I reading this right. When I click on the links, is it saying these games also play on Windows XP/7? If so, do they not work on Windows 10?
XP, 7 or higher, I just don't have Win10 at my home, but I tried on another computer with Windows 10 and it works, there is generally no backward compatibility problems on Windows (but MacOS is a different story)

I still have some Dreamcast game in stock

Hello,
I updated the files so the Atari STe version should also be compatible with the Atari Falcon !
Please report any bugs with this new version as I don't have a real Falcon to fully test the game.
Enjoy !

Thank you, i hope you enjoy the game

I think it's one of the most advanced Jaguar CD game made at an "amateur" level, more than 20Mbytes of graphics and 55Mbytes of cinepak videos !

Does the game use "The Enhanced Joystick Ports" too?

nope, only standard joystick in port 1
-
This is a port of my game Escape 2042 to the Atari STe, 1 Mbyte of RAM required.
2 floppy disk (hdd version available too) uses the Joystick and runs at 50 fps !
Discover a futuristic fast-paced 2D platformer game, including a reversed shoot'em up mini-game.
The game takes place in three different environments (prison, desert, forest) and is interspersed with one mini-game and multiples cutscenes.
Avoid the security cameras, collect grenades to get rid of your enemies, exercise your working memory by hacking the computers of the prison to unlock the doors or to dis-activate the safety systems.
The game is now available for download on my online game shop: https://orionsoft.itch.io/
A boxed version of the game including 2 real DD floppies + manual + making of, will be available in the coming months at the approximate price of 40€ + shipping.
If you are interested in this boxed version, please send me an email to get on the pre-order list at this address: [email protected]

Orion, spread the word about your software in the communities, like the PS1 community, genesis community and dreamcast community. Spend many weeks building up hype about your software. Get everyone pumped up for it. Then create a group on Facebook like the one Joe did with NESmaker. Joe regularly talks to his backers and people who are using his NES software. Also make a more kickass promotional video for your kickstarter.Relaunch the kickstarter with a low goal and low price point. I say $50 for the version where you export to all consoles. While it may be a low cost if many people back it you make out in the long run. You can do $50 for the software, but then add $50 dollars if you want to get an early version of the software as a beta.
I grew up with Genesis, Dreamcast, PS1 and I want to make a game (with NO SPLASH SCREEN) and sell it LIKE A BOSS!!!!
You think I just made the kickstarter and posted only here on AtariAge ? I posted on several PS1/Genesis/Dreamcast forums, and people have been posting the link to several other forums and sega fan websites, more than 20 websites talking about it.
I'm working on this tool since 2 months and talked about it on my twitter and facebook page each week, posted 4 videos of it during these 2 months to show progress
and yet it's still a failure, what can I do more ?
Oh and, you want a complete tool that can export to 4 platforms, with 4 full game engines, and possibility to make thousands of dollar from your games, and I only get 50$ as a reward ? what a joke !
This project is BURIED, go spend years of learning programming and make your game yourself.

For the Sega Genesis armature version all you have to do is open the rom in YYCHR and delete the splash screen graphics. Just don't even force a splash screen at all as it really upsets me.
You think I'm a noob developer ?
Try to hack my game Escape 2042 on Genesis to run on an Emulator, good luck

I don't think people won't buy because of a splashscreen, how many people really plan to sell their games ? not the vast majority
now if 30€ is too high then I can't help it, I'm not working for free
if you plan to make lots of money out of a 30€ tool, where I'm the one working the most, it's not fair

The tiers with the splash screen, are you allow to make more than one cart and sell them?And... the multi-platform tiers, do you get a rom for each system and can you sell them?
Also, can you make more than one game?
You are not explicitly allowed to sell your game with the "Amateur" version, it's just that, having a splashscreen at the beginning of a game you sell, is not really professional, and it will make free advertising to my software.
The multi-platform tiers, you get a rom for each system, if your game matches each systems restriction (for example: a Dreamcast scale game, won't run on Jaguar ...)
Here is the restriction order: Dreamcast > Playstation 1 > Jaguar > Megadrive/Genesis
You can make as much game as you want.

Here is my Kickstarter for a tool I have been working on since about 2 months
It's called "Retro Game Designer" and it's a Windows / PC tool that will allow you to create your own video games and export them to the Sega Megadrive, Dreamcast, Playstation 1 and Atari Jaguar consoles!
Without any programming knowledge (except for the adventure game engine that will require some very simple scripting)
Several game engines are planned depending on the amount that will be reached by the KickStarter.
We start with a 2D platform game engine, then an adventure game engine (point & click, text or myst like)
followed by a Shoot'em Up game engine (horizontal or vertical), and finally we end up with an RPG / Rogue like!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/orionsoft/retro-game-designer
Please spread the word !

Wow, that was quick !First post updated! Much thanks, Orion!

Nice work on the vidéo optimisation

-
maybe with my IMADPCM player you could have had a better frame resolution, it's 4bits -> 16bits (3m47s @ 15300hz would take 1736550 bytes)
drop me a message if you want the DSP source code
-
instead of talking about it, start working on it !
(and you will soon understand why, we coders, are laughing about noobs that have not a single idea of what amount of work is required for such a project)

Zia is too big for the Jaguar, not enough RAM and not enough processing power for 3 map layers and alpha blending during the battle sequences

Hello folks !
Since I won't produce new copies of my Jaguar CD games, and because there is still demands for it, I decided to offer my Jaguar CD games available for download at a small price.
You can buy my 4 games on my itch.io web page and get the game to download in the form of a CDI image.
Here --> https://orionsoft.itch.io/<--
Available games are:
Elansar (point & click "myst" like adventure game)
Philia: the sequel to Elansar
Alice mom's rescue (cute 2D platformer)
Yopaz IceStar (2D puzzle game with level editor)
In the zip file you will find the CDI image, that you will need to burn on a blank CD-R at the lowest speed (x1) using the demo version of the software DiscJuggler (available here for free: https://legacy.padus.com/downloads/demo.php )
You will also find the manual and cover in high quality PNG image that you can print using your own printer, so you can produce your very own complete copy of my game !
Enjoy !

My Jaguar games available as ROM for the Jaguar GD
in Atari Jaguar
Posted · Edited by Orion_
typo
a rom is a rom, it will work on any flashcart.
except if the flashcart included specific exclusion of specific games, but I doubt it's the case for my games since I wasn't approached about this.
