JagCF last news before the before the launch of final proto.
Orion_ replied to GT Turbo's topic in Atari Jaguar
Yes, part of the problem for scumbags that feel it is ok to steal my hard work. You clearly have not writting for a system a difficult as the Jaguar, if for any system at all. did you ever saw the pokemon mini stuff ? that machine had an unknown processor, with unknown opcode, unknow hardware, no hardware doc at all, and homebrew developer succeed in reverse engineering the processor opcode and writing new assembler and debugger and emulator and flash cart and games and so on... and all of this, FOR FREE coding on jaguar is not that difficult at all, I did a little game in only one week, ok it was mainly 68k, but some weeks later I had a game entirely written with the gpu/dsp and 68k turned off (and don't talk again of the gpu in ram stuff, players simply don't care, they only care about the final result that the game is) -
They already exsist......it's called an Alpine. No, because alpine needs a computer to load each game, not the cuttle cart which load from a memory card.
-
check the source code of Jungle jag, there is NOthing borrowed, it IS entirely written from scratch. you talk about code, then change to graphics and sounds subject, I'm a coder, not a graphist nor musician.. you say this because the only thing left that you have superior to us is a hacked 3D engine from the Atari renderer. (and you dare to say that we use others code ?) but don't worry, I'll show you someday...
-
who talk about sticking with the 68k here ? SCPCD just say that the 68k is "the ugly thing" of the jag don't change the subject when you have nothing more to argument on...
-
the FACT you are telling cannot be verified by us... since we don't have surrounded source code, nor previous version that was running at 15fps..
-
humm, instead of judges ,how about a pole?? let everybody vote.....majority wins...simple... there can be cheat with a pole :/ or maybe, a topic with everyone writing his choice on a post an explain why he choose it. then we can count the number of vote and everyone can verify it.

I don't understand why giving so much time to do a game that will be limited to the Jaguar memory but well.. it's also a good challenge to work with little memory, so why not.. who are the judges ?
-
cart is just a pain to produce today, and cost too much, not all developer can afford nor have the possibilities to make cart game... and by the way, there is no official thing saying the jagcf will be able to load cart game yet... again, we just asked if people want it... not that it will be done...

this made me laugh a bit, when I saw how many posts you had here, and how many projects you have currently in development ^^
-
from the readme: and if anybody wants to correct this bug, please do so, I remind you that the complete source code is available.

Enough Technical talk, let's see facts Sega 32x Technical Demo

it's great to read that everything is possible on jaguar. but I still wait to see all those things actually running on jaguar, instead of speaking about it for 10pages ... the frog > the gp32 have no graphic processor, that's why the cpu need to handle all the graphic emulation, but I don't think snes could run fullspeed on jaguar, because you can't emulate every graphic things using the OP only, what about mode7 tricks and other things to emulate ? in theory it seems possible, but in reality I doubt it.
-
as said before, my game is finished and I will not modify it, so you can make a jagcd iso without problem
-
Is that with or without the CF? without as already said, there is only one prototype of the cf and it's not the final one so we can dev on cf actually. (except the creator of the cf )
-
I still don't understand how can someone call us "thieving pirates" where the only thing we did was to emit an hypothesis on if the jag community wants rom features on the jagcf, and where the actual jagcf prototype is not able to do such a thing.
-
T2KFREEKER > what you wrote in french mean "the best shit ever stolen on jaguar", so for you BS = shit ?
-
see, first 2 topic on this forum, BS and Gorf, what else to say %)
-
why not using the previous topic then ? creating multiples topic gives me the feeling that you want to be heard by everyone even those who don't care about gorf. on jsii everyone was talking about battlesphere, now here it's gorf, sometimes I have the feeling that only those 2 games exist on jaguar :/
-
4 topics about gorf hypothetical new release on this single page, maybe enough now ?
-
Until someone writes a new C compiler for the Jag that utilizes the gpu main ram technique's the Frog and Atari Owl pioneered. by the way, does this technique is described somewhere ? so we can try to make a C compiler.

Plenty - Even Dino Dudes uses 24-bit True Colour backgrounds! that's strange .. I get 16bits background bitmap using PT 0.5 debugger when running dino dude
-
I don't remember seeing a lots of textured poly in fight for life, it's a mix between textured poly and gouraud, and the poly are not that big on screen :/
-
instead of writing 6 pages on whether tr is possible on jaguar or not, etc... that would be better to actually try to make it possible on jaguar by starting to code it
-
one of our jagware member managed to get around 1300x574 at 50hz but I don't know if it's the maximum
-
it's a test of my polygon filler routine, not a prototype of tomb raider for jaguar ...
