  1. World first lara croft on jaguar ! (by the way, this code is pretty old %) )
  2. oh, by the way, real coders won't wait for the blitter, so, no cycles wasted.
  3. well, you can code in C on jaguar if you are lazy, but don't expect speed nor quality results ...
  4. who need more than 4k+8k of code anyway ? this million cycle optimization is only if you have more than 3 or 4 full gpu/dsp cache of code to blit per vbl ...
  5. the jaguar is really far from having the 3D capabilities of the psx (because there is no 3D chip at all), even the saturn version of TR is lower than the psx version.
  6. phear the paint brush skillz !!! will some of you guys stop taking your desire for reality, learn programming instead, this will avoid stupid thread like this.
  7. Seaplane is not a simple shooter, that's why it is multidirectionnal, it will be a 50% exploration + some ennemies in multidirection mode, then 50% unidirectionnal shooter (after the exploration mode), but will be a simplified shooter since I can't code 2 full games in one ^^
  8. first, I don't understand what is this all about, the ever released 3Dstooges game was on JagCD, CD is easily piratable, and JagCF don't emulate jagcd. second, jagware has proposed to give to the current developpers, a solution to prevent their cart game to be pirated on jagcf, so I don't understand where is the problem ... this is a pretty ridiculous reaction IMHO :/
  9. use BJL under WinXP and you won't get the fast transfer that you have under Win98. now, native in 5 seconds would mean 212kB/s, I'm pretty sure you can't have that rate using // cable with BJL. (even with plain DOS mode)
  10. I don't consider JS2 being the largest part of the jag community. now proove that the original poll was spammed. I could say that your poll was spammed by anti-CF guys.
  11. I have read it and if you bother to read what I said you would understand, let me put more simply for you: I wasn't talking to you, but to megadata. when true game will come out in jagcf format we will discuss about this again ... (and reading the poll result I don't agree with you)
  12. could you please read what we post (and not only read the piracy things that has been already debated in a closed thread ...)
  13. well, I think linux/mac os/winXP has been tested (at least using BJL with the catnip cable), I don't know for the CF (since it's still not finished)
  14. alpine and bjl use parallel cable (not the same speed depend on WinXP/98 etc...), CF use usb, all communication protocol is handle by the catnip cable chip, not the pc, so I think you can have constant speed.
  15. where the hell did you read that ? Right: avoid telling me the numbers. This is a sure fire way to sell something. The numbers I've seen do not correlate with being faster, or with each other. Tell me them. your answer is so strange, trying to confuse me ? I already told you some kind of "numbers" like you said: where ?
  16. oh, because you perfectly know how fast is the jagcf, well, try uploading native in less than 7 seconds with BJL, good luck. and by the way, is there a debugger for BJL under windows ? and can you add 8MB of ram/keyboard/mouse/fast and Working network on jaguar using BJL ? and many other things that the CF can do ... oh but of course as you said the CF show absolutly no progress for jaguar dev... at first, save the money to buy windows vista, which will be More expensive than the CF. did you know the CF can stream high quality audio like the jagcd ? 2MB is nothing when talking about audio. and secondly, you must have free ram for your code to operate so you can't code a full 2MB game with BJL. in other words, don't argue about something only by saying "it has been said", and when you absolutely don't know what you are talking about.
  17. do you actually know what the CF is capable of and why it was made before talking about the "loading rom" option ? obviously not ...
  18. JagChris > and what about the atari flash cart and the alpine board, are they illegal ?
  19. Good boy. Thanks for proving my point. Are you paying attention, Jagware? quoting only the half of the post can say whatever you want to it.
  20. You are right, but the few people leading the drama are not honest enough to admit the Cuttle Cart (and other similar devices, on ALL platforms) helped to develop the homebrew scene. In fact, I have not seen a single example to show the contrary. Er, hasn't the obvious size difference between the 2600 and the Jaguar homebrew scene already been discussed? I count more collector in the jaguar scene than people who want to pirate the jaguar. the 2600 homebrew scene is Now bigger, but a few years back it was not, just as the jaguar homebrew scene actually. I think the JagCF is really going to change that and let people develop more easily on jaguar.
  21. puzzle game are more easy to start with and faster to produce, personally I started a little puzzle game 2 days ago, and when It will be finished, I will try some more serious stuff but it will take a lots of more time for sure
