I'm currently running a Kickstarter campaign for a new side scroller game called Escape 2042 - The Truth Defenders The game is a fast paced 2D platformer with 2 mini-games included. The main game features security cameras to avoid, firing enemies, grenades to collect, computer "hacking" to open doors or disable laser protection fields, and level card based locked door in the first prison levels. The game will take place in 3 different environments (prison, forest, desert) interspersed with 2 mini-games including a reversed shoot'em up and an original abseiling game. The game is targeted for Gameboy, Megadrive/Genesis, Dreamcast, and Windows / Steam Greenlight The campaign is not running very well, so I might considering porting this game on the Jaguar Could you please answer the poll about how much interest you have in buying this game for the Jaguar ? it's not just alpha blending, it's also graphic layers. For Alice I had 2 layers of 32x32 tiles and even with the blitter, I got 30 fps on this RPG I have 3 layers of 16x16 tiles + dialog text, etc..., it would barely run at 15 fps and I think the 2Mbytes of memory would be too short for double buffered 3 graphic layers + all gfx assets and sfx In the end, this RPG will take about 1 year of fulltime work, I can't go for another 6 months to 1 year of redoing an RPG just for the Jaguar, sorry

Yep, I seriously doubt about this final price, because, even when I made an auction for personalized Alice's Mom's Rescue cart, with custom named boot screen for the auction winner, the highest bid was 4 times less than this final price. And only 4 cart was made. (one that ended up in this seller's hand by the way ...) I added an universal cart header, and padded the rom to 2M (so the emulator will accept it) runs fine on Virtual Jaguar CES_DEMO.zip

sorry I didn't know about those game, except for downfall which is not really a real platformer like Alice is. I look at the games you talked about and it doesn't seems they are fast paced game, I don't know what are the FPS of those game on a real falcon, but I wonder If Alice's gameplay would be playable. 30fps is the lower limit.

because I would need to rewrite all the game engine in optimized assembly language to use the specific falcon hardware, and that would require months of work and despite that I wonder if if would run at a descent speed. never wondered why there is only one (not finished) platformer game on falcon ? :/

Alice's Mom's Rescue is a puzzle / platformer game in the pure style of old school pixel art. The giant raven has captured Alice's mother. I updated my game packages on my itch.io store, now you have all the up to date versions when buying the game

I just updated the update (same link) The GEM version should now handle topped/bottomed window, and the game is suspended as soon as your mouse get out of the window. For Firebee users: I also included an update of the original Elansar app which plays in Fullscreen, it is now way faster and smoother (triple buffering, 16bits, direct mouse handling) I also included a Fullscreen version of Philia ! same as Elansar, plays smoothly in 16bits triple buffering. Both fullscreen version have no problem with AES interaction, and will restore the desktop screen perfectly. (while the previous version of Elansar didn't) I updated my game packages on my itch.io store, now you have all the up to date versions when buying the game

If I remember correctly, I tried 24bits mode on jaguar, and I was stuck with an hardware bug which won't allow using transparency on black color (like in 16bits), so, you just can't make a game with square sprites :/

and, to answer topic title, to me, the most impressive jaguar title is "World Tour Racing", a full textured 3D engine at decent speed, I don't think the Jaguar can do any better, (and if it can do better, it is very unlikely that any homebrew guy will ever do something better than this engine)
