Songbird might take some at a low price, I'm still waiting for an answer from Albert of AA.
-
All made in France I just want to make something clear, the next games I will produce for Jaguar CD won't be pressed CD. Because each time it's a minimum of 300 to produce, and even if it sell well, I guess I will have 200 CDs of Philia remaining in my room for ever. So, next time I will produce less, using professionally burned CD-R, which is still more reliable than burning CD with a standard computer
-
Elansar is already working on Jaguar, so, it is possible to convert it to JagCD without much work. That would add the video for Intro & Ending using cinepak, + better image quality (raw 16bits dithered like Philia) Also, it will release me from making cartridges, which is painful and expensive to do !
-
That would allow Intro and Ending video using Cinepak and no more cartridge pain, I will think about it

If you follow the link where it says "Mac" you will be redirected to the page where you can order the CD version, which contain a Mac OS X version. When I say it's available for iOS on the AppStore, I'm not talking about the Mac App Store. It may be easier for Mac users, but Apple is not really cool with developers because Mac App Store == You must pay an additional yearly fee, and they take a percentage on each selling, + you need to buy the latest state of the art Mac computer to run the latest OS X version, else you can't submit your app. So I'm just a bit sick of this policy, I just keep my old mac and distribute the app on CD myself.

A new game was released for the Jaguar CD! This is my new adventure game "Philia: the Sequel to Elansar" The game was professionally produced with a pressed CD in a DVD case with a color cover and manual ! For those who are interested, see the ordering page here: http://onorisoft.free.fr/retroshop/philia.htm For those who don't have a Jaguar CD, dont worry, the game is available on other platforms too! Windows / Mac / Linux / Falcon / Android / iOS: http://onorisoft.free.fr/retroshop/ Video of the game running on Jaguar CD: https://vimeo.com/93892663

Yes it will be padded envelope except for people/store ordering more than 2.
-
tadaaam ! here is 300 top quality pressed CD with professionally printed dvd box/manual, cellophane wrapped, etc... I need to buy lots of envelopes and I will start selling them on my website (and on AA store if Albert answers me in the meantime)
-
all this require a custom BJL cable to be made and a PC equiped with parallel port next to the jaguar. I really doubt the average gamer have such equipment.
-
oh yes, I forgot that raw sectors had a little header with sector number, I'm just wondering how a small header like that can be identified through a bunch of raw random data. anyway, I doubt any one here will ever code such a driver for the jaguar cd, considering the really small use of it. for example, only CJ ever tried to use the "cd_switch" function of the jagcd, and it seems that only function is buggy and not working as intended...
-
the way the JagCD work, your project will not be possible, because, when using the cd_read function, the seek is aproximative, that's why you need a MARKER in your data. when reading raw sector from an ISO9660 CD, jhow will you know where starts the data you are searching for ? If you ask for a precise position reading, the laser might read a bit before or a bit after the actual position, so, that's impossible without a marker.
-
That's why I added the "Advanced" world which gives you a lot more than DiamJag watch the video to see what things has been added.
-
It's not a "programming" question, it's, how can you transfer data from a jaguar to another ? appart from tiping a lonnnnnnnnnng and boring code of letters. you better take a picture of the level and reproduce it
-
what solution do you propose for this ?
-
First of all, for those who are waiting Philia, don't worry, it's close to the release, I should receive the CDs from the factory very soon. But in the meantime, I'm still working hard on the JagCD to port another game: Yopaz IceStar, a puzzle game that you can see as the sequel to DiamJag You play as a little character named Yopaz and you must collect all the stars in the universe, but the vacuum of space forces you to slide indefinitely when you run in one direction. Only an ice wall will stop you in your tracks! With this unusual constraint, you will need to collect all stars on each level. This puzzle game features 40 levels in 3 worlds Local highscore to beat the best time with your friends and Infinite levels possibility using the built in Level Editor ! In comparison to DiamJag, Yopaz adds the world "Advanced", providing additional features for seasoned players. You will be able to change your color and collect stars of the corresponding color! Your color will also allow you to go through teleporters, direction changers, or even protect you from enemies! You can watch a video of the game here (ps1 version, but the jaguar version will look the same, except that the PocketStation minigame is not available) http://vimeo.com/73975208 Screenshot of the Jaguar version: It will be available as a professionally pressed CD in a DVD case with a manual (just like Philia) Please answer the poll if you are interested, Thank you

I have too few demand (< 30) to make a cartridge production batch myself, it will cost too much per cart. So I'm waiting for someone to make a cartridge production batch so I can associate with them, I know reboot might do it in a future but I don't know when, so I'm waiting
-
why don't you email Atari Age admin to ask him ?
-
and how much do you think making a cart can cost ? that IS the issue. making a batch of 100 carts is like buying 15 jagcd, you need cash, and you can't make just one cart, the price is only interesting from 50 to 100.

I tried BPEG decompressor for movie, I was able to have decent speed at 160x120 only Also, atari was working on an MPEG hardware decoding cartridge, that only make sense when you know that the DSP/GPU can't handle mpeg software decompression. so, better stick with the cinepak. I'm still waiting for my answer by the way, why developing an ISO9660 reading program, for what purpose ?
-
and so, what would be the purpose of doing that ?
-
ok, I have ordered 300 pressed CDs, they should be shipped to me during next month, so expect a release soon no preorder, just check this topic or my website's shop by the end of next month
-
remember that, using ISO9660 on JagCD will only work in developer mode (i.e BJL), it will never work with the JagCD encryption/boot process. the JagCD bios need a 2 session Audio CD with at least one audio track on session 1, and 2 audio track on session 2, one is the boot program and require the ATRI/ATARI APROVED DATA HEADER, and the last track needs to be the encryption hash table I'm even wondering if not ALL audio track on the session 2 needs the "ATRI" header for the encryption/boot process, in that case, this will invalidate the ISO9660 format. so, even if you insert an ISO9660 image in here, just for the beauty of it, it won't be readable as such by a PC, so this is useless
-
are you really thinking about it before posting such question ? the sequel to myst is Riven, Riven is a 5 CDs game !! do you understand how complex it can be to port such a huge game ? we don't have any sources of this game, so how do you think it can even be possible ? did you ever play myst 4 ? it fit on 2 DVD, it's real time 360° video, what a joke ...
-
as all the donators are from this forum, I will simply send a PM on this forum to all of the donators, so they can buy the game at a cheaper price when its released. hopefully next month

Finding the latest devkit released by Atari
Orion_ replied to TXG/MNX's topic in Atari Jaguar Programming
the only "devkit" you need is the file "jaguar.inc", and the "jag_v8.pdf" documentation the rest is unnecessary, just get the latest "windows" compatible modern assembler like smac/sln from subqmod or rmac/rln from reboot's website. check out example on how to code on jaguar, and there you go http://www.jagware.org/index.php?showtopic=836
