      No clue,it was color and battery life was not really a big deal just plug it in.gameboy was almost unplayable with a god awful screen

      Can't just "plug it in" when you're a kid roaming around outside. "Plugging it in" defeats the purpose of what it was primarily designed to do--be a portable game system.

       

      I had a Game Gear and loved it, but I will admit to only using it near a power outlet. It just wasn't viable outside. Yet, all of my friends had Game Boys and toted it around with them. The battery life was incredible on that thing, and not the Game Gear.
