Yeah, you'll miss out on stuff. Remember when Dead Rising for XB360 was only legible on an HDTV? Seems very similar.

I like it when games have a colorblind mode. I don't have that trait myself, but turning it on makes Star Wars Battlefront 2015 much more playable.

That'd be pretty cool if it exploded. But it was a technical reason. The color palettes for color and b/w had different contrasts at certain inflection points. INTV had no switchable palette like VCS.

Both machines had video subsystems to match the displays available at the time.
