  1. Removed a dead rat from Mom's garden in the courtyard. The thing I hate about removing dead things (like birds) are I fear they may not actually be dead and come back to life and start moving. But that hasn't happened yet.

      Yep, I've had to dig dead rats out of the walls in my attic.  There was no question that those rats were dead, because my nose lead me right to them.  I don't think anything in the world smells worse than dead things.  :woozy:

      A few weeks after we moved into our house we had a torrential downpour after a bit of a heatwave.  Two baby seagulls were washed down onto our forecourt.  Worse thing about it was they must  have been dead for about a year (there were baby seagulls on other roofs at the time) as they were pretty decomposed and crawling with maggots.  Scooping them up with a shovel into a bin bag was one of the most unpleasant things I have had to do. Man, the stink!!

      Never had to worry about that- our cat does a good job of making it clear his kills are dead. Sometimes the hard part is getting it to stay in one piece for cleanup ?
