  1. I got this letter saying I mailed something via Media Mail that I shouldn't have and now I have postage due. Not explained in the letter is how to pay it. Why not?

      You youngins and your VCR tapes. We used to have to walk 73 miles to the cinema, and there was only one talkie playing. No choice.

      If there is postage due, either the recipient pays it or you'll receive a bill from USPS. If you receive the bill, might just be a small envelope you throw the money in for your postal carrier to retrieve. Happened that way to me once.

      USPS might also penalize you by charging full postage from origin (even though it's at a distribution center halfway between) to the destination AND you'll be out the original media postage you paid. It's not like they simply charge the difference. Again, my experience - until they learned me but good.
