  1. Here's a question for all the 2600 people. Why are all the copies of Bumper Bash on eBay $600 or more? The cheapest copies of Espial are about $1000. And here I thought they were just hunks of plastic filled with metal bits and a label slapped on, not Ming vases.

Video games as high art?  I could see it.  I'd say supply and demand, but also throw in that if most video game players and collectors had as much (meaning as little) money as I have,  the prices would be Lower,...Much Lower.

Scalping. It seems at the moment that most of the copies up for sale now are all from the same people who are trying to drive the prices up. In a perfect world Espial would be cheaper than Bumper Bash due to it being far more common, but since almost all the copies are from a single seller they get to dictate the prices, and other sellers are trying to undercut them but the prices are still ludicrous. Just give it a few weeks or months and the prices for Bumper Bash, at least, will drop back to the 60-120 dollar range where they should be based on it's rarity. Espial will not drop in BIN prices, and you'll only get a good price at auction because the ones listed have been there for over three years and have soured the prices for that game in particular. If you want the real value just look at what they've sold for at auction.

If you're talking boxed prices then it all goes out the window, though a boxed copy of Bumper Bash, based on rarity alone, should not be worth less than a boxed copy of Espial.

Hopefully you're right. Why would anyone pay $600 for one video game? How would anyone pay $600 for one video game? I just want a loose copy of Bumper Bash.
