  1. I began to lose interest in modern video games right about 2001, right when the X-box and co. came out. I bought a Gamecube, but it seemed like almost all the video games then were fighting in wars and other crap I wasn't interested in. I remember there were a bunch of cool, unusual N64 games I liked, but the number of unique, imaginative games went down starting then. What say you?

I really liked the GameCube, and actually... the ps2 and xbox as well but that was about it.  I enjoyed the Wii but not to the same degree.  The entire time I had an xbox 360 I never bought a full-priced game for the system.  Haven't bought a modern console since.

I loved the original Xbox. I still have it and have close to 100 games. But I lost a lot of interest in gaming once we got to the "micro-transaction" era and the "150GB  download" even though you bought the physical media version".

True story.  I had a rare bit of free time and decided to play a game that caught my eye: Neverwinter, and online D&D type game.  I registered and downloaded a few days back.  I went to play - the required patch was 67% done after an hour.  Well, I went to plan B and tried Jedi - Fallen Order, which I got free last year and downloaded via Origin but hadn't played.  Nope, Origin didn't remember my password and I didn't have it handy on that computer. I gave up and did housework for an hour - the Neverwinter patch was STILL going after two hours.  I found my Origin password and I figured I'd try Jedi.  Nope, required patch for that as well. *sigh*  I ended up making progress on Stone Prophet via gog.com and a few rounds of Kaboom! on my 7800 instead, so I actually got to play some video games today.
