  1. I began to lose interest in modern video games right about 2001, right when the X-box and co. came out. I bought a Gamecube, but it seemed like almost all the video games then were fighting in wars and other crap I wasn't interested in. I remember there were a bunch of cool, unusual N64 games I liked, but the number of unique, imaginative games went down starting then. What say you?

1995, and I got the feeling that about then it was already almost all fighting games and FPSes.

The ability for small developers to put out creative stuff *has* exploded recently, with Steam, GOG, etc. so IMHO there is actually a lot out of variety and creativity out there, it's just lost in the sea of choices... and the big developers haven't been able to take those kinds of risks for a long time.

I'm selective with new games. I used to be a big paradox fan in the 00s but my interest is dwindling.

When I get an xbox one I'll buy rare replay and the crimson dragon game if its still available to buy. No others catch my attention.

Switch is full of wii u games... That I have or can buy on wii u.

Ps4 I always said I would buy, but the games I would is now on pc or likely to be on pc in the future.

I thought having the ps3 out would spur me to play that more or buy more games for it. But nothing.

Did get a new gx4000 game today though. There's that.
