  1. Do Macs have stupid updates that it forces you to update and takes away 20 minutes of your life?

      Most updates are really quick and painless, usually (but not always) under 10 minutes.  I don't update major OS versions, though, because so much changes and breaks with every big version change I won't do it until I absolutely have to.  My wife keeps hers up to date all the time and Big Sur has been kind of a mess.

      OK, Mac users have to suffer too I guess. Why is there no computer that has zero updates? That would be nice.

      Because they ARE computers, online and therefore the target of hackers, scammers etc, at the very least there are always security updates. Also, as for other updates, while YOU might be totally blissful and happy with an OS doing very specific things without ever taking advantage of new tech, abilities, services, options, most are not. You are better off looking for info on how to schedule updates, set your "Active Hours" , maybe consider manually checking for updates at times when you are not needing your computer so they download and install are more optimal times that wont interfere with you 😉
