  1. Yes, let's move this to the Programming subforum.
  2. I've been thinking a lot about the huge connection of my food and my video games and I got to thinking, with Peter the Pea and the Secret Government Waffle Project, perhaps it's not best if if I make a game about burgers at this time. So rather than completely give up on the game, I've decided to give it a different theme. You are a lowercase letter W. All the other letters of the alphabet have got together and attacked W-Land. Your job: Shoot all the other letters with your lowercase i. Some letters may be shooting a lowercase o at you. What do you think? w16.zip
  3. It doesn't have to be Switzerland, either. The protagonist is on its way home.
  4. Fixed the bugs in level 3. added new music to levels 2 and 3 I don't know why, I think it's my computer, but in jzIntv, some sprites flash or do weird stuff for a frame or so sometimes. This is how TIX's boss eggplant looks in the game: herts_2021_01_21.zip
  5. Not that I care when the weekend is. I slept all morning today. Went to sleep shortly after midnight because I couldn't sleep, and then woke up at about 2 p.m. I worked on Hamburgers En Route To Switzerland. I'm beginning to think that it shouldn't be hamburgers since I already made a game about waffles on the Intellivision (not to mention peas and carrots as well.) Something not food related heading to Switzerland. BUT WHAT? My eye began twitching again and it will not stop and I don't know why. Usually when I get a migraine it hurts, but it doesn't hurt. Instead it's twitching. Do you know what? The Jaguar would be the perfect console for the burgers game. And here I am making an Intv version. But time certainly flies, even when you don't have a life.
  6. It's the Sesame Seed Sea. (Yes, I know that burger bun does not have sesame seeds on it, but most burger buns do.) The fish is there for decoration. You can't shoot at it. I thought it looked rather boring and plain without it. I need to do different songs for levels 2 and 3 now. My eye is continually "twitching". I don't know why. herts13.zip
  7. Why can't I get the stupid fish to scroll correctly when the waves above do? ' scrolling movetimer=movetimer+1 if movetimer=3 then IF offset_x=0 THEN stupidfish=stupidfish-1 offset_x=7 PRINT AT 140 color #bgcolor, "\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258\258" PRINT AT stupidfish color 5, "\256" end if if offset_x>0 then offset_x=offset_x-1 SCROLL offset_x,0,2 movetimer=0 end if result: EDIT: SOLVED.
  8. Could tix draw me a different 8x16 boss eggplant? In the meantime, I put in a temporary boss eggplant. I also made the score stop flashing more when an enemy gets hit. herts_2021_01_20_intv.zip
  9. The dimensions of all Intellivision sprites are a maximum 8 x 8 pixels. I use the zoom function to stretch them.
  10. I can't add a green top because I'm already using all 8 sprites.
  11. I noticed that as well. GoSub isn't about food, though. But the rest of them are. I guess anthropomorphic food is funny to me.
  12. This is as fat as I can make it. I had to stretch it x4 to make it the height I wanted. And I can only stretch it x2 horizontally.
  13. Added in a boss level. I don't know why it had to take up a few HOURS of programming to get it just right, but it did. The boss is a giant eggplant that shoots giant peas at you. Shoot the eggplant 20 times to defeat him. Once you get past level 2, the game freezes because I didn't program level 3 in yet. herts_2021_01_19_intv.zip
  14. Ah. Didn't notice it was school_girl. Don't buy that one.
  15. 2 Demo carts on eBay right now from the same seller. Or, if you don't have that money, just the first one for fifteen hundred bucks. Or, you can try your luck bidding on Checkers.
  16. Level 2 is "Mustard Mountains". I wanted to make it "Mayo Mountains" but it wasn't all nice and centered on the intro screen.
  17. I made a small Atari 2600 program to aid me in one of my music projects. Even though I don't know if I'm going to be able to burn it or not. What I've done is make songs of various insane lengths (the longest one I've done so far is over 7 hours long.) I just got off the keyboard after playing it for an hour. I usually don't play it for that long, what I do is stitch together recordings of me playing the keyboard for 30 minutes at a time, various lengths, and call it a song. In a song I call "Alektorophobia" (the fear of chickens, in case you're wondering) I decided to employ the Atari 2600 in transitions. I had an idea for something I wanted to program, an electronic noise maker, if you will, that alternates between two tones, playing at a "random" length. So I made one. And here it is. It even has a "debugger" that tells you which note is playing. But before I could record it, I had to download Stella, because much to your and my amazement, I haven't had a use for it since I had to "factory" reset my computer. So I went to the Stella website and downloaded it. Version 6.5 is a lot different from the one I had before (4.something). Why did I name my song after something weird? I try to be as weird as possible when naming my songs. "Strange People Eating Hot Mayonnaise" is the title of another song I did. It's 2.5 hours long. This is how bored I get some times. I'm listening to it right now. It's the part where I try to figure out the notes to the "Dallas" theme song. Then I gave up and played weird chords and repeating the word "Sandwiches." That's just a little sample of the weirdness I record myself doing with the audio recorder. soundmaker.bin
  18. P2 20282114 here. I don't know, it has more digits than the other INTV 2s in the data base.
  19. I started a FS topic in the Marketplace. There's a picture there too.
  20. I have more than one duplicate console. Anyway, if you want any of the stuff pictured, just PM me. All you need to pay is shipping. If you buy a console, it should be about $10 or so, less if you just buy a cartridge(s) with book(s). The books go with the cartridges and contain the questions. The cartridge stores all the answers to the books' questions, otherwise you would have no questions to answer. cartridges pictured: Greatest Sports Legends, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Team NFL and Soap Operas.
  21. Wow! That's the really old Coleco Quiz Wiz, not the newer one Tiger made in the 1990's. Now I'm wondering if the two are related somehow, or if Tiger just used the name not knowing Coleco used it before.
  22. A box full of Quiz Wiz stuff came today. Four of the booklets I got did not have matching cartridges. But anyway, I did get 13 new to me cartridges and books. And, yes, another console. This one is different. This one is gray. I'm figuring this is a later model since the later cartridges were also gray. I was asleep for most of the morning. I got up at 9 a.m. and was still sleepy so I went back to sleep on the couch. And woke up at noon. It's almost 1 p.m. as I'm writing this. I really need to get back to work on my Quiz Wiz cartridge. I have another package I bought that will be coming soon, but there will be less stuff in it. And I now have a bunch of duplicate cartridges. I want to sell them but I don't know if anyone will buy them.
  23. Lotsa stuff added. made it so there's more enemies than just lettuce. Corn and eggplant have also been added. I also added in the chicken nugget. If you touch it, you get an extra life. The nugget only appears if you have <9 lives. fixed a few bugs about shooting in the middle of enemies dying and other stuff. herts9.zip
  24. So I put a web page up about the music I mentioned in yesterday's blog. I mentioned my mouse broke. So I went to Wal-Mart to get a new mouse. I had no idea there was such a thing as a fancy gaming mouse. I was looking at those, which cost anywhere between $40-$80 before I found the regular mouses (mice?). I pondered whether I should get one with a cord or without. The one with a cord, the cord was only two foot long, which I feared would be too short. So I went with the wireless mouse. It came with batteries. It is really great and much better than my other one. It was $10. While there, I took a look at the toy section. I found the Micro Machines. I bought a five car set for $10. Packaging was shot, so I'm going to open it and get the cars out. That was $10 as well. Well, not REALLY $20 since every store has to price stuff a little less than prices ending in .00 (which is stupid) so I ended up with a nickel and a dime in change. I got home and noticed my mouse came with batteries. And it was made in Vietnam. It works like a charm. And my package I got from eBay where the idiot seller used FedEx to ship it, it took a week to travel cross country, but it is finally in my state. But I suppose I'm the only person in the world who still uses actual cash. I don't want a credit card because I don't want to go into debt. I figure if I don't have any more paper money then I can't buy anything. Not so with a credit card. And that's how people get into debt and then bankruptcy. So I use cash.
