  1. Man I am so lucky I live in a state without sales tax. I added up all the stuff and without tax it looks like you've spent $830. Wish I had $830 to spend on a PS3. Of course, I wouldn't buy a PS3, I'd buy me a Wii and Super Mario Galaxy (whenever it comes out.) I'm not a Zelda fan, and about the only other Wii title that would interest me is Wii Sports. I'm thinking about getting a used PS1. What are some good platforming titles for it?

  2. Hey thats pretty cool that they have "classic"games at your GameCrazy. My friend manages one near me and he tries to get Atari games and other older games in the store but there is nobody trading any in.By the way how much was that boxed copy of BurgerTime?and what 7800 games did they have?Just wondering.Thanks.

I think BurgerTime was either $2 or $3. The 7800 (ProSystem) games I think cost a buck each. I don't remember what 7800 game(s) they had.

  3. With the E.T./Pac-Man and "The End" mazes, I think it would be more challenging to add more walls-- for example, so the sub has to navigate between the letters, or do a sharp U-turn in the region of E.T.'s body, etc. Also, I think the treasure should be inside Pac-Man's mouth, like he's eating it. :)

Good ideas! I'll change the end maze and Pac-Man/ET mazes. I'll definitely make Pac-Man eating the treasure :)

  4. Of course, Toobin' is a trademark...

Coincidentally, I was reading up on Toobin' last week. Did you know that it was an *Atari* coin-op? And Tengen-- the company that made (most? all?) the home versions, was a subsidiary of Atari. ;)

So I wonder if Atari would allow a homebrew version of Toobin' for Atari machines? :)

I don't work for Atari, though. So if I were to make a game with the name Toobin', I would probably be violating the trademark thingee. How does Infogrames feel about homebrews on Atari machines?

  5. Great ideas!

    - I just might have a contest.

    - Right now, the left difficulty switch is used to toggle sub speeds. An H for Hard will appear throughout the regular game if the left difficulty switch is set on A.

    - The computer problem you mentioned is that it died, so I had to get a new one. :) Unfortunately, the bBasic codes for Space Bacon & Ima Dyma were lost, but this is sort of like a new & improved Ima Dyma.

    - I'll think about adding an enemy in there somewhere.

    - As for AtariVox, I don't know what that is or whether bBasic programs can support it.

    - And I think I will cut the music for a 2-player turn-based and/or simultaneous game. The music wasn't that good, anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions and compliments. You've given me a lot of stuff to keep me busy with this project.

  6. You might want to exclude prog rock. Long songs are the norm rather than the exception. Jethro Tull thick as a brick, for instance, or a lot of Yes stuff.

So stuff like Alice's Restaurant, Disco Inferno, Madonna's "Up Down Suite", songs that aren't long just for the sake of being long? I read Wikipedia's entry of prog-rock, and there's no mention of the Alan Parsons Project (Turn of a Friendly Card, Fall of the House of Usher). Albums with long songs are hard to come by where I live. (there's only a handful of stores in my city that sell records, and it took me a while to even find Alice's Restuarant.)
