  1. I don't want to have to get an iPhone in order to play portable games!
  2. Added and changed a few more levels. Hope it's easier. I also added a level select at the beginning with left and right. Right now there are only 4 levels to choose from. I don't know how many will be in the final game. gosub3version3.bas.bin gosub3version3.bas
  3. Yep. Its start button doesn't work so well any more, but I still use it every now and then.
  4. Well, I couldn't wait until next Monday. I put up another 3DS review. This one is of Tetris: Axis, and it's a follow up to Monday's review of Bust-A-Move Universe. You can find it, along with all future reviews here: http://www.atari2600land.com/3ds/ I love this machine, it's too bad there's not any wonderful games for it yet. I'm also amped up for the return of Beavis & Butthead tonight at 10. By the time I just got into it, the final episode was airing. I plan to tape this and all other B&B airings. Who knows, maybe another movie could be in the works if this turns out well for Mr. Judge. Now that would be awesome. I taped "Beavis & Butthead Do America" off of PPV even though we weren't supposed to back when it was released. In fact, we taped several movies off there. Good ol' Viacom Cable. It was so cool before Comcast bought and destroyed it. And they STILL refuse to put KWVT on the channel lineup, but that's another story...
  5. DKC (SNES) Mario Kart 64 (N64) Super Mario 64 (N64) Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) Super Mario World (SNES)
  6. I'll be using my system daily once Mario Kart 7 comes out.
  7. I forgot to mention, if you press fire, you can fire a torpedo. Anyway, I spent a few hours making title screen music for the game. I used the Jimi Hendrix song "1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)." I had to change a few notes due to the fact that there were some missing in the Atari 2600's sound library. Anyway, the title screen song goes on for almost 4 minutes before it loops back again. I tried to stay truthful to the first 4 minutes of the song (the original is over 13 minutes long, half of it being weird noises). I also put in a lives counter and a level number as well as a score (10 points for each octopus you shoot.) Anyway, I'm done with this for today. I'll pick up where I left off tomorrow. It's almost 10pm where I am. gosub3version2.bas.bin gosub3version2.bas
  8. I was wondering what to put as the prices for these...mine isn't the player's choice one, though, if that matters. Lowered prices to $20 each.
  9. Someone is actually porting the 2600 game E.T. to the NES. This is the same guy who ported Sneak 'N' Peek. Right now it's on the opening page of nintendoage.com so all you E.T. likers should like this. And E.T. haters, too.
  10. I have a couple of Wii games for sale. Wario Land: Shake It! (case damaged, but disc fine. $15 Super Mario Galaxy $15 Super Mario Galaxy 2 $15 PM if interested. US orders only.
  11. I'll take anything for Saturn off your hands provided it still has the long plastic box and instruction manuals and it's not something I already have. Heck, I'll even take a golf game or something. I'm just sick of going into the used video game store and not seeing anything for my Saturn! Please help me, won't you? PM me if you have any Saturn games I might be interested in.
  12. I did a search on AtariAge for "GoSub 3" and it came back and said that it didn't like the "3" part because it was less than two characters or something. Also, I remember wanting to name a blog entry "i" for my game about the lowercase I, but I couldn't. Is there some way to allow this, for example, someone searching for "Pitfall 2" wouldn't be allowed to...
  13. Since I can't find the topic I did last, I'm starting a new one and starting from scratch. Here's a picture as well as a binary file you can play with. gosub3version1.bas.bin gosub3version1.bas
  14. I know the contest is long gone, but in my quest to see what happens if I hit 300,000, I thought I'd show you my new all-time high: 279,135.
  15. Well, it happened again: my eye began hurting. Undeterred, I decided to tackle Insecticide once again, adding a sample background fighting arena. I got it so it scrolls back and forth like my 50-foot-tall celery game. I also fixed the "PAUSED" text not showing up when the game is paused. It also dawned on me that I need to double the amount of fighter characters to 16 sprite patterns, 8 for you and the same 8 for opponents' because they're in different "worlds" (only a VB programmer would understand...) but I won't worry about that now because I only have one fighter back from the designer of the sprites so far. I think I have an idea of how to not move the opponent while the fighter moves and the bg scrolls: just add opponentx's value by 1 if it's scrolling left and subtract it if it's scrolling right. Of course, I don't know if this would work or not, I'm just thinking out loud here. Hopefully that would work and the opponent would seem as though he would slowly get out of the viewing area. And the opponent is computer controlled, too, that might pose a programming problem (I don't know how I'd do AI), but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. When I was done for Insecticide, I went into the bathroom and barfed a whole bunch, which usually helps decrease the eye pain when I do. So that's what I've been doing for the past few hours.
  16. Hi, I'm back with another 1k bB game. This time I have 1027 bytes left, which is a tiny bit less than 1k. I don't know how feasible the game idea is, though. Spent about 4 or 5 hours trying to get the idea and the game down to 1k. You are a smiley face again, and your job is to eat the little dots that appear on the screen. The barrier and you always move to the right. Only trouble is, there's a deadly barrier that if you run into the game ends. The barrier goes faster than you do, so in order to get to the top of the screen where it's safe and the barrier can't touch you, press and hold fire for as long as you want to be up there. If you hit the barrier, the game freezes, at which point, press down to start a new game. That's me trying to explain the game, but the true way to explain it is to play a few rounds. Again, asm as well as bas files have been attached. second1kgame.bas.bin second1kgame.bas second1kgame.bas.asm

  18. Hi all. I've started a 3DS review site which you can find here: http://www.atari2600land.com/3ds/ (Links don't work for some reason, so I can't put the word "here" as the thing to click on any more.) Every Monday, I'll post a review here if I can. I already bought next week's game as well as some yummy Boo Berry cereal. So now I have two 3DS games. I also got 3 game.com games in the mail today, so now I have 15 of them. So anyway, that's what I'm up to game wise.
  19. Happy birthday dear... nobody?

The birthday feature seems to be broken. Mine was on October 20th (and I've set it in my profile), but it wasn't listed.

  20. Candy Catcher isn't listed in the AA store, he must be using the website to announce and order games. I read somewhere that CPUWIZ made the carts for him to sell.
  21. Well, I think those couple of must-buy titles would have to include Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land, wouldn't you? Those two titles were enough to make me buy one, apart from the third party software titles. And those are coming in time for the holidays, so maybe Nintendo is counting on those two games to boost their sales come the holiday shopping season because others aren't ready yet.
  22. Since I just got a 3DS, I did some research and there isn't very many games I'm actually looking forward to owning. The main reason for me getting one is so that I could play Mario Kart 7 once it comes out. But looking through the release dates, nothing much has jumped out at me saying "I need this!" Here are a couple I found though. Mario Kart 7 - 12/4 Super Mario 3D Land - 11/13 Tetris Axis - out now See what I mean? And Bust-A-Move is the game I got with it, since the store I went to didn't have Tetris (I didn't see it there.) Well, it's an interesting little system, but I think it's not doing too well, just like, say it with me now, Virtual Boy. The other reason I got one, it may not be available for much longer, hopefully Mario Kart and Land will boost the sales of the 3DS once they come out. Oh and by the way, this isn't a want list for you to go get me. This is just my opinion on stuff I feel would be interesting.
  23. Hi all. I just got back with my brand-new 3DS. I just got one. I had tested it out in the car. Set all the settings and tried out a game. I only wish there were more games for it and am anxiously awaiting Mario Kart 7. I had a hard time picking out a game I wanted for it, since I don't really like Zelda or Star Fox, so I settled on Bust-A-Move Universe, not much of a selection now is there? I am impressed with the 3D effect, and I bought this thing just to play off-line games on. So, can anyone recommend some other game out now that isn't Star Fox or Zelda (and obviously not Bust-A-Move, which I got at Fred Meyer, a local department store, for $5 for some reason, so it is obviously the place to go to get one for those with a Fred Meyer around.) And I am putting Super Mario 3D Land on my Christmas list, as I'm not waiting for it as anxiously as Mario Kart.
  24. Ah, ah, ah, #5. #5. I also got some comic protectors. I got 5 of them. They were only 15 cents each. The comic store I go to, there were the two employees huddled down next to a TV watching a movie. Must have been a slow business day. I asked them about it and she said there hasn't been many people come in today. So now I have all five issues. What I don't understand is why this thing doesn't come out monthly. I like the comic book. There's usually like 5 or 6 stories each of varying amount of pages, plus some that are only 1 or 2 pages long, which is good because I have a very short attention span. I wonder why Marvel didn't print this. They did the Ren & Stimpy comic book, so you'd think they would do the SpongeBob one, too. You can view the covers of the issues at this section of the website I started here: http://www.atari2600land.com/sbcomics I want to start a Sifl & Olly comic book. I think that would be real cool.
