i might have to disagree a bit on Virtua Racing. I'll try to keep this short. I first played it in an arcade whilst on vacation in Vancouver BC, Canada. Thought is was just awesome. So when it was released for the Genesis in "94, I bought a Genesis with Virtua Racing. $115 CDN. Jebus. But it was so worth it. Then I got a 32X and it's version, with better polygons and more tracks was just perfect! Then I got the Saturn version with very high hopes. It was done by another development Team. It looked the same, but it just didn't play the same at all. I was very disappointed by it. And also, a shout out to F1 Challenge, great game, but was very incomplete. Only a few tracks and things, but still very fun to play.

I'd say this sums up the entire 100+ pages of this thread.

Besides the Jaguar, Tempest 2000 also came out on the PS1 as Tempest X. I have all 3! And Manx TT was realeased in NA as well. And another vote for anything by Working Designs, they also did some great ones for Sega CD.

Another solution not yet mentioned that worked for me. I purchased (I think on ebay) a cart extender that gives you enough height to mount the PBC on a model 2 Genesis.

That aside, I am still playing Space Taxi on the same C128/64. There is also a version for windows called Space Taxi II which I have and highly recommend, same great playability with nice graphics!

Great thread gentlemen, brings back a lot of memories. I remember playing U3 on my Atari ST. Around 1999 or 2000 I remember thinking how much I loved Ultima's music but how poor the sound was on the ST. Then I thought, hey, I wonder if it goes out on MIDI? Sure enough, I hooked the ST up to my cheap Yamaha keyboard, outed that to my stereo and promplty almost soiled myself! Sounded glorious! I remember making a cassette recording... HA! Just rooted around in my desk and found it! Just tried playing it on my 1984 Sanyo boom box... radio works, tape deck is shot! Dang! Time to see if my old component deck still works.... It's broken too! Just makes a grinding noise for 5 seconds when any buttons are pressed. Those were the last cassette players in the house that I'm aware of... I've got one in my car! I don't know why, it's a 2002, who was still listening to cassettes in 2002??? (luckily it also has a CD player too!) ok, tape is in my breifcase, will try it out on the car tape deck on Monday's commute, will post back my findings. I'm interested to see if it sounds as awesome as my 13 old memory of it...

A little off-topic, but my brother paid $500 CDN for that gian lego star destroyer when it first came out. It was the largest lego set ever released at the time, not sure if it still is or not. He said putting it together was like another full time job! When we ran out of space to keep it out I had the job of dissasebling it. Took about 2 hours! It's now in storage.

I'm kind of having the opposite problem, I want the mobile skin but it's not listed in the theme options anymore. I'm using Firefox on WinXP. What happened to it?

I've been searching the site for an hour now and can't find how to turn them off. Am I the only one that finds them distracting and annoying?

I got my 6-button WIRELESS controllers for x-mas (1994?). And they had SIX buttons! Good stuff, made a whole lot of games easier. The 3 button is great, good controllers, they got it early, and that made it pretty much standard. Of course, please take this all with a grain of salt, I do believe ALL of the Sega D-pad controllers are better than any other... sorry, just me. Markimus of K.

I've got the Soul Calibur stick for the Dreamcast. I was skeptical at first that it would just be a 'gimmick' kind of stick, but wow, it's very solid and works like a charm. I had an old Ascii-pad (I think?) for the Genesis which was really solid (playing Silpheed on it was amazing), and then I got the official Sega one. I finally beat the earth stage on C=64 Gyruss using it. First try. I've not used the "official" Dreamcast pad either, but I would also like to know any opinions on it.

Canadian here, I had no idea the PS2 was still selling at retail, haven't seen one in a store here in years. However, I haven't been actively looking, I'd just assumed they were long gone when the PS3 hit the shelves. I just took a quick look on Amazon.ca and Walmart.ca and they have nothing except for affiliate sellers. Any other Canadians seen them in retail? I have some broken ones I really should look into getting fixed (phat & slim), but I'd be very interested if I could get a pristine new one or two for backups. And I have a question regarding the Slim, I bought one when they first came out (wow, what a great redesign!). And I've bought two since (one for the GF's kids and one for my camper) and they all had the external power supply. I had heard there was 2nd revision of the Slim that internalized the power supply so there was no power brick on the cord. Can anyone confirm this? Oh yeah, retail and internet shopping blows in Canada compared to the US. The only good thing about it is we're not as bad as Australia...

Interesting, I've actually seen the movie but had no idea there was a game based on it.
