sup8pdct replied to phaeron's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The pdf looks good and has heaps of info. I was wondering if maybe you could add info for Printers that respond to different P: numbers as listed in compute here. https://archive.org/stream/1986-06-compute-magazine/Compute_Issue_073_1986_Jun#page/n111/mode/2up James -
How to degauss your vintage monitor
sup8pdct replied to atari8warez's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
No amount of degaussing is going to fix a powerful flash being held against the tube and fired. It broke the lining on the inside that holds the phosphors in place on our then only TV. I wasn't well liked for a while........ James -
I asked about the ones i linked to. it supports at least FMF and 128 byte sectors. If you dig through the docs, I am sure it supports much more. James

After quite a bit of messing around and trying to figure out what happens during loading, i have finally cracked Letter wizard. it works on XL/XE in altirra, not 400/800. ATR is a copy of my original with minimal alterations. I don't have spell wizard. Also have a PRO image if anyone wants it. James letter wizard.atr

1450XLD testing, help needed. Perhaps somebody knows......
sup8pdct replied to mr-atari's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
At least 2 of those controls are to set up the frequency for the data separator. Page here http://s100computers.com/My System Pages/ZFDC Board/ZFDC.htm describes how to setup, down near bottom The 5-25P can be setup by trying to continuously reading sector one and turning the pot till it reads. you should be able to find a sweet spot. sup8pdct replied to mr-atari's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I have had a quick look at the 87P50 rom. Only sector maps in there are std 1050 ones. So no special high speed ones. Maybe done to keep same as std 1050 disks. James -

sup8pdct replied to mr-atari's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Only way is to dissemble the rom for the controller and find the format commands and what ever other commands are used. Maybe the 2k rom will help as well. Then write a custom format program. James -
atari 1064 in addition to 64k two chip upgrade?
sup8pdct replied to rockdoc2010's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
No. The 1064 and internal ram will mirror each other from the 16K boundary and higher. It may or may not work properly. Best not to do it. James -

How does it work with fuzzy sectors? Where each time it is read, different data is returned. James -
