Is there a 'City Bomber' type game for the Vectrex? You know, buildings at the bottom, your fly down the screen getting lower as you drop bombs to destroy the buildings.

Have a look at the code for my 'Monster House' er. 'game' at http://free.7host01....rryg/retdev.asm or on my blog: http://garrysgamingblog.blogspot.co.uk under the 'programming' tab. This is a very simple program I knocked up whilst learning the basic fundimentals of programing the Vectrex. You can also download some of my simple demo code from the blog. Have fun, oh and I'd be interested in going through basic games designe/coding with you if you do start somehting. I think you generaly learn more if you have someone to share code/ideas with.

Hello I've recently been looking over a couple of Vectrex games I started a few years ago but left, and it made me want to re-do a Vectrex project. I was thinking about tidying up the RetroDevolved program or possibly finishing the other one; the idea for which was loosly based on a level of the 'Twister Mother of Harlots' game for the ZX Spectrum... I'd appreciate it if anyone could have a look and let me know what you think of the ideas so far. Give me some sugestions about what can be changed or added to make them better... or let me know if I should just dump the ideas and start again! No brand-new idea pitches though please... Oh, you can find the assembly files here: http://garrysgamingb...g-projects.html I'm not precious about these, so feel free to pull the code to bits if you want. They were both early efforts but I think the 'Twister' one may have had some legs... I've noticed people seem to be sharing .bin files here and not the assembly code. Would it be easier if I shared a couple of .bin's?

Hello, I've just started to bung out a quick bat and ball routean on the Vectrex and was looking for a vectrex programming discusion forum to ask some questions on. Can anybody point me in the direction of any such forum, do they exist? I've got my ball bouncing around the screen, I can move my bat back and forth and I can bounce my ball off of my bat I can print statick strings of characters, but I can't work out how to show a score etc as text. It may be my emulator, but it all seems to be going rather slow as well... I'm looking for answers to this and some other basic question on Vectrex Assembly programming. Any help is welcome.

How to recover files from an ATARI 8Bit formatted disk
gorf68 replied to gorf68's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks for the replys... Yes they are single density and most of the disks are written to on both sides! Thanks to deathtrappomegranate who has offered to make immages of these disks for me -
I've still got some of the origonal Page 6 Disks as well, some issue disks and some of the specials. I also found a copy of bolderdash construction kit on a disk, although I've nothing to play then on just now

European/PAL FB2 Release?
gorf68 replied to gizmomelb's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
I think I might just have to buy an NTSC version for the collection then! For me it means messing around with the TV signal and power converster though! -
what do you want the FB3 to be?

How about 400/800 with support for disk drives and tape input? -
Atari XL/XE vs ZX Spectrum... And the winner is...
gorf68 replied to Foebane's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
These arguments have and always will be pointless and silly. It all comes down to what machine you personaly like the best, that's what makes it 'better'. I don't care what anybody says, my VIC-20 is still the bestest computer in the history of ever!!! -
I noticed on the main page of this site that there is a section for all the American Atari Magazines, but no British titles. We did have a couple over here, ‘Atari User’ and ‘Page 6’. Later Page six bought over the ‘Atari User’ name and became ‘Page 6 Atari User’ for an entire two issues before becoming ‘New Atari User’. I still have a fair bit of the magazines and was just wondering if anybody else still has any or collects them?

How to recover files from an ATARI 8Bit formatted disk
gorf68 replied to gorf68's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks for the offer, unfortunetly I'm in Scotland!!! So they may not survive being posted to Cleveland It would only be a hand full of disks and I don't know how much would still be readable! Hopefully I'll find a compleat version of my JetPack and Tempest clones. I've been thinking about getting an Atari 8Bit and Disk Drive again anyway. I would still lke to get them archived though... I've had a quick look to see if I could see any of my old programs on the net, a long shot at best! But I couldn't see any (Although if memory server right my Tempest clone was better than the 'Livewire' one that I've downloaded ) -
How to recover files from an ATARI 8Bit formatted disk
gorf68 replied to gorf68's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks I'll give that a try. The thing is there may be a lot of stuff that was not finished or never sent to anythere on these disks. Still I suppose I might find some of my stuff on the net. It would just be interesting to find out what (if anything) in on these as this was from around the time I was first getting to grips with programming. the Atari 800XL was the first computer I really did any programming on after the VIC-20, my first computer. I had a Spectrum as well at the time but did little to no programming on this; the keyboard really put me off! -
Hello everybody! I’m new here and this is my first post! Can anybody tell me if there is a way to recover files from an ATARI 8Bit formatted disk, short of getting a new machine and disk drive? I ask because I’ve recently found some of my old ATARI 8Bit disks that could hold some of my PD games programs. I thought were lost forever years ago. Any way of getting them back is worth a try. I've found software that is supposed to make in image file out of an Atari formatted floppy. I tried this with a 5.25" drive that I had lying around, but it didn’t work I think it might be because it's a relatively 'new' 5.25" floppy drive, anybody know if this would work with an older drive? I also have an old 40/80 switch type CUMANA drive (attached to a BBC); is there any way I can connect this up to my PC so I can try and use this to retrieve the Arari disk image. Or am I going about this all-wrong? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
