I don't think Tyrant was irritated: he is a really calm guy (as we old attendees at jaguar board know ). He was just pointing that you could find a lot of posts about the best games, so you could have a very wide view. [Tyrant supporter mode off] Hey, Nick, you're raising hi ags for those rotarys, uh? ...-And the latest versions of Cubase, and even Cubasis (the stripped down version of Cubase) for the PC/Mac are light years ahead of the abandoned ST version. It's called development , and funnily enough one of the reasons Steinberg left the Atari market after putting in a lot of resources in to it was the piracy of earlier versions... even today I am still asked if I can supply a cracked version of their software ... You guys never had a windoze crash, didn't you ? No matter how 'developed' the software is, if you need a sequencer, a sequencer is all you need! And if it is possible, you should have it on a machine with a rock-steady clock, with NO crashes. (That is /|)

MSA unpacker is almost everywhere in the atari archivers directories. try here: http://www.ataritoday.com/cgi-bin/uptodate...yp=packer&lang= it is the Ataritoday website that hosts the UpToDate list in English. Almost every atari software is there, and a lot of it is freeware/shareware and downloadable. Or you can go here: ftp://ftp.funet.fi/pub/atari/arcers/ and download it by yourself.

Let me see... If I count you and myself.... mmmm.... TWO! Maybe it is better we ask brainfusion.

Shortly, it is the 'internet address' (http://www...) It is the acronym for Universal Resource Locator (if my memory serves me) Paolo

Ehm, sorry, guys. I wrote the message in a rush, and I read it only later. Gunstar: I meant that if you don't like the real thing then you don't really like videogames. SO I agree with you. Also I was trying to say that a true gamer would use an emulator to have a sample, and then would buy the game if interested. This is understandable, since it is difficult to find places where you can actually try the classic games you are searching for. On the opposite side, a freeloader wouldn't pay a dime, no matter if he finds the game amusing or not, so he just shouldn't be allowed to use an emulator.

this hack has been made. it consited in 'cutting' the signal coming out from the digital output of the reader and feeding an external digital signal to the unit. then you put a CD in the jag, just to let him think there is something to play, but you really feed the VLM with an external signal. Mmmmh. While answering I was trying to find the address of the guy who did it, but I can't...

To be honest, I think that people who like emulators like playing games for FREE. There aren't people who like emulators and people who likes the real things, there is only people who likes games and people who doesn't! People who like games usually don't mind paying for those games, and can wait if they don't have the money for a particular game, and then they buy it (and they obviously like the real thing); people who doesn't like games (and gaming scene, in general) don't worry of using emulators, downloading ROMs and even buying pirated software, because they don't mind if they harm the gaming market. Hey, T'Bird! How many people were at your fest? And how many BS and BS:G did you play simultaneously ?

Aaah guys, you don't pay attention! Cubase lite is just a very litte stripped down version of CUBASE itself, and it's FREE! It has been released in the PD since Cubase VST hit the PC and Steinberg stopped the development and support for Cubase Audio on the Falcon. It has very very few limitations (IIRC something like limited parts, like 24, and no DA capabilities) Tim's MIDI world has the specs and the files, too. Bye!

Now that you have it, tony, tell me how does this game compare with NBA Jam TE. Of course I will not ask you how this game compares with WhiteMenCan'tJumpWannabeBasketballGame Cheers

OK, Jay. So, since you have got two of them, you should go and reverse engineer one of them. After all, isn't that for you have more than one? As soon as you end your reverse-engineering job, hurry to some industrial electronics facility and set up a 2-300 units run (it should be enough). Next step, Ebay! Who knows...

Wow! Lots of pictures! GREAT LYNX screenshot! Question: was that playstation there just to be laughed at?

Very nice game! But I need to spend a lot of time on it everytime! It's not a 5 minutes shoot-em-all game. So when I have only 5mins, I plug Protector:SE and blast everything away

Urgh, we're going to let amoeba people in? Amoeba people? The Atari ST rules the f*cking planet, man :-) Cheers, That ST rules is crystal clear! I thought that amoeba people were the Amiga ones. Don't let them in

Stone: I always had the same problem with the saved hi-scores and I thought it was a Jag fault, something like bad contacts that reset the memory. So I would say that I am reliefed, yet disappointed Nick: According to how is your auction doing, forget that refund story . Oh, and don't even think at a counter-refund It seems I made a real bargain, but I understand that the prize is growing every new controller is auctioned, until the request is fully satisfied.

Well, until your kangaroo shaped isle derives and smashes itself on french coasts Now, just to piss you off a little bit more ( ), British Isles are geographically in Europe, UK entered the European Union in 1973, just don't accept Euro as its own currency (but it's matter of time ). You know, sometimes I think that my government could have thought at this currency thing just a couple of years more, anyhow... It would be nice for me to be at JF-UK in June; who knows, maybe I'll have a little time that weekend.

Yes, Tony. Brainfusion in Rimini. I'd like to go there, too. One of the two guys is a Jag&Lynx fan.

But don't you have to ground the shielding, then?

Auction closed - Another Rotary Controler up on eBay
Paolo replied to Tyrant's topic in Atari Jaguar
You know, Nick... now I am going to sit down and enjoy the show. No thrills, no last minutes panic Just hoping the price is higher then how I paid mine Well, if it IS lower, I'll ask you to refund the difference Bye. -
Mmmh... tell me the truth: You chocked an original Jag box with the new skin, but you didn't want to put yourself in a bad light, so you gave us the story about folding a cardboard, eh?

One of the nicest things in the SCART (Tyrant, you bad guy forgot this) is the 12V pullup signal. It allows you to connect more devices in cascade (assuming they have IN/OUT) and let the TV automatically show the right one. That is very useful if you have more devices than SCART connectors on the TV.
-
I bought an RCA video connector with my Jag, just to be sure... Then I decided to skip the Y/C thing and go straight to RGB on SCART, and I built it by myself. It took me half an hour and I had that time to spend that day (it was during holydays)

All I can say is that a couple of years ago I tried to buy a couple of cheap ST items, and nothing happened. I can't even remember if I used the online credit card form, and if I actually paid for them. But surely I have never had an emeil from them.
