catbox is a bit expensive but in the jaguar faqs then are excekkent descriptions on how to build a scart by yourself , and it's simple: I did it!
-
Even funnier if you think that you wrote pyropong only in BS:G, that was when the rotarys were already out! Oh well, we'll find it in BS:Platinum Bye.
-
Just to be sure: 1. does pyropong allow rotary controller? (c'mon T'bird, say YES ) 2. will starcat's ball game allow rotary controller? 3. do you know of any other game with a rotary controller compatibility? Now, I know that this has been discussed tons of times, but just to be sure... BTW, I never read something from T'bird about pyropong except the comments he left when the code has been discovered; so who knows... Cheers.

Ok! please queue BIGFERRET: You can't imagine how I was scared you put another bid in the last minutes: I kept reloading the page more and more, my only luck has been my timezone when the auction ended . I am pretty sure Tyrant is going to give Jaggies some more controllers. TONY: Sorry, man. I have been so busy that after I won (and paid) the auction I totally forgot about it until the thing arrived. T'BIRD: I spent 40 GB Pounds + 5 shipping & handling, it is 70.90 Euros at the time I have been charged on my creditcard. KRUPKAI: I have a standard controller on port2, so I can enter my name in the high score table, and play the bonus levels. Since it has been the first time I had to follow the 'yellow brick road', I didn't understand if it is better to use the rotary, but it seems so. TYRANT: I double checked the weight issue, and you are right (of course): it has been just an impression driven by the fact that I usually hold the controller without holding the cable, while I still was holding your new controller with the cable ribboned (is that a real word?) (Stone, will you please translate this last word mess in an understandable phrase?). Bye!

Ah, well. I thought it was a difference between EU and USA models, since I bought mine from US stores, while Tyrant's were probably EU (I was just assuming that in GreatBritain it was obvious to buy an european model). What am I writing? Maybe this is a side effect of Tyrant's controller. *warning*warning*

... But I could only open it today. Hare are my first impression. The joypad is heavy. And I mean that there must be something inside because the knob isn't that heavy! (It reminds me that Tyrant suggested to never open one of those things). The soft-clicking knob is somhow comfortable: I thought I would have been disappointed with a non-continuos rotating knob, but I was wrong. the soft keys are black. My controllers all have soft keys in grey rubber. the wire is thinner then my controllers' one. (yet it's an Atari cable. Strange). But the main thing is that I felt guilty while playing T2K! I mean, It took ages to me to reach the red webs levels, and now I am there at my first attempt. Plus I have a whole load of zappers available! At first it looks that you have to rotate a lot to move a bit, but then you understand how to hold the knob, and your zapper lands from a point to another on the web with precision. *** Suggestion to everybody *** Send tyrant TONS of emails asking your own rotary controller. Everyone who has a T2K cart *must* have a rotary controller. Tyrant's one is what I have. Surely JediJeff's one is as good as well, but I can tell that you are not really playing Tempest if you don't have that piece of hardware. (Tyrant: I'll send you an invoice for this advertisment ) Have fun (I do)! Paolo.

Yup! But don't worry. Nothing on Atari ST really breaks That port is for serial devices as Modems or serial printers, ... or mice, but with a particular driver, to say it in PC terms. It's a little program to execute in the auto folder that recognise the mouse plugged in serial2 and use it. I suspect that your problem is in the boot sequence. maybe a program went ruined and you should "clear-boot" the thing. Does it crash after the atari logo?
-
Hey, where did you plug your mouse? MSTE has the mouse port IN the keyboard! Maybe you should check this. Please note that serial mice won't work unless a piece of software. Regards

My Jaguar came yesterday! Impressions after day 1 . . .
Paolo replied to NebraskaDragon's topic in Atari Jaguar
Ok, maybe I told this before (in maybe three or four different threads...) but White Men Can't Jump *s-u-c-k-s*. I tried to have fun with this game, but nothing happened. Bad colours and animation, and that stupid moving camera BTW, my son loves checkered flag! He keeps setting different colours for the cars, then changing track or weather, and then back to car colours. After five minutes he starts a race, then crashes a couple of times in (put your favourite obstacle here) and then resets the game Aaah boys... -
It is a good deal if THEY give you 10.50 for taking that cart

Yes, it is the original Pitfall (and it is exactly how I remember it from the 2600). There are a couple of ways to go there. The easier to me is: from main menu go left and then 26 (just like 2600) times down, then press A(hope I didn't mess up something, I can't try it right now). I can't understand why they did it 26 times DOWN, it should have been 26 times UP! Have lots of fun!

Iron Soldier 2. Cart or CD? What are the differences?
Paolo replied to NebraskaDragon's topic in Atari Jaguar
I only have HS CD version, so I can't answer Gunstar question, but I could add a thought for the people that doesn't have any version. I think that the framerate is good enough. the real trouble is the pixel-rate while 'steering'. When you move leftwards or rightwards, you see a difference of, say, 20 degrees between the previous frame and the next. It is about a 30-35 pixel jump that gives you headache and a very bad control. If they only allowed a slower (but smoother) steering of 7-10 pixels, you could make a 360 degree turm three times slower, but also smoother, with better control. I realised that this isn't affected by the wireframe code, so I assume that it is just a very stupid decision taken during project stage. But I *love* the way the hover moves forward. -
Ahh. I consider myself a gamer, not a collector. So I am not really interested in labels variations and such (although I think it is a very interesting hobby). I will surely focus on games I think (or it seems) they're funny to play (to me). I know, I made a mistake: WMCJ, but at least I have the TeamTap, and one of these days I'll get NBAjam

this whole Aircars thing makes me feel more and more curious about this cart I am interested in seeing how bad it is! Well, I think that a couple of snapshots could be enough if it's that bad... ... going to jagudome...
-
My thought is that PF is more 'coloured' and pinball-like. Also I found it smoother and with higher resolution. I don't know if this is true, but this is how it looks to me. bye!

Looking at the control panel of the "developer" starship in Battlesphere:G, it looks like they used a Falcon. Am I wrong? Happy new year everybody.

well, over here we have 100 Hz TVs, they are the above average models, but thy're absolutely shocking. You can't see flickering even with your eye's side! Do you have 120Hz tvs in the new world?

Oh, guys! these Telegames facts make me sad, but I agree that somewhere else there are unfinished or unreleased games waiting for us. About financing: I still think that if it's matter of 1000-2000$, is it possible to find two or three sponsors willing to help. About t.skid's statement: I think he meant that since he is in Italy, he is far from any Atari action, either in the US or in Europe. Of course it is possible to work on projects, but it's difficult to help finding lost games or contacting Atari-related people
-
You mean "ever published"? Oh well, I know it is going to be difficukt to know if your bypass was developed before or after Songbird's one. ...just curious BTW, that pyropong is awesome! And it's the only Jagpong I have, so I'm glad to have it! And that so-easy-to remember activation code!

Did anybody ask Telegames what were their requests for selling those licences and sources? I remembere there was a similar discussion last year on JI2, but I couldn't find any money-related answer. It would be much simple if Telegames publicly (referred to the Jag community) stated their requests, so we could have a look at them and discuss a solution. Who knows, maybe it is a sum you can put together just with a producer and a couple of sponsors... After all, I agree that Telegames has two choices: get little money o get no money. And I also understand that they just don't release anything by themselves: as T'bird stated time ago, it would mean more losses since the community isn't as big as needed to raise a lot of mony.

What a coincidence, EtHunter is just selling his own copy. High rollers only

What's this 4.92 thing? I didn't know! What are the diffferences? Does it deserve a trial run? P

Well, having these infos near Christmas vacations, it looks like something more is adding at the "to do" list Thanks!

Hey, T'bird. I remember I read a lot of threads about the analogue affair, and I am sure I never heard about the PCjoystick conversion (obviously I may be wrong). So, pleaspleaseplease tell me how to convert this PC joystick, and why nobody is selling adapted joysticks, since there are a few guys that know well how to hack hardware. Bye Paolo

There is something else (maybe I didn't understand the way you used jugs): I tried jugs from win98 (DOS window) and it didn't work. Then I shut off win and under plain DOS it worked great. This thing didn't happen at all with another PC, running fine from both win98 AND plain DOS. IIRC there is something about this in the jugs manual.
