You have two MIDI ports on the ST, one is IN and one is OUT. By properly using CuBase, you can have the OUT port also work as MIDI Through, for more fun :-) Now, you just need to put the roland OUT to the ST IN, and the ST out to your sampler. After that, you connect the sampler's AUDIO OUT to your multitrack/tape/PC/Falcon/whatever AUDIO IN Hope this helps

Well, it's an "M" if it has an internal TV modulator, that lets you hook the ST to the TV with a standard antenna cable.

Hi all. Maybe I misplaced my "I sell my Falcon" topic, since I put it in the "Auction Central", while it is not on auction currently. So, please, check it out. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=121322 To the MODS: please review my post and place it where you think it is more appropriate. Thanks

Hi all. First off, thanks for the PMs. (I am posting again at AA and A-F) I came to the conclusion that I can start selling the MIDI equipment directly on Ebay, while trying to give the Falcon a better home here first. I'll try to sell it as a whole first. So, those of you interested, please PM me an offer. I do have an idea of how much I'd like to get, but I can consider also lower bids, thus I will not disclose my idea to you :-) the deal is: Big Tower Falcon 14 MB RAM SCSI chain with Yamaha CD writer and Compaq HD (used for Cubase recording) two regular IDE disks MO-4 board (already installed inside the tower) FA-4 with cable F/SPDIF without cable (it needs a pin-to-pin connection with the Falcon or with the FA-4) VGA adapter MIDI cables Cubase Audio Falcon (box, dongle, manuals) HDDriver (disk, manuals) HardDisk recording software (manual, disks) some freeware utilities As you can see, I did not list the details (HD capacity, CD burning speed, ...) since I didn't take those things out of the storing place yet. But you have a quite good idea, by now. I'll post the exact details soon. I repeat, my idea is giving all of this in bulk, if I can. Otherwise, I'll try the piece-by-piece system. If we can't sort it out, I'll have to go to ebay :-( Sorry for the long post.

Hi all. I never -ever- thought of going to do this, but my brother needs space (and I need even more), so we are thinking of finding a new home for some serious music stuff, and a Falcon that goes with them. Of course, before discussing how much should I ask, and if anyone here is interested in something, I'd like to hear from you some comments, or ideas, about this. In the meanwhile, this is a rough list 1. Yamaha dx7 II FD E! (manuals and hard-cover, keyboard stand) good conditions, battery replaced. (The E! engine is a masterpiece of Yamaha/MIDI machinery) 2. Yamaha TG77 (manual, 3 sounds expansions) great conditions 3. Yamaha EMT 10 (manual, great conditions, rack supports) 4. Roland Boss Dr 550 5. Roland Sound Canvas SC8850 6. Yamaha EMP 100 (multieffect great conditions) 7. Mixer Yamaha PROMIX 01 great conditions 8. E-MU Proteus 9. diversity radio microphone 10. Rack with electric switch for (can't remember how many) modules 11. power amplified studio loudspeakers And then: Atari Falcon in BigTower case, 14MB ram, regular IDE and SCSI chain with two HD, one SCSI hd, SCSI Yamaha CD-W, Cubase Audio (with dongle, of course) and some music related hardware (MIDI patchbay, FA-4, an SPDIF thingie ...gotta unbox something to get the whole list), HDDriver, some other music related (always original with manuals) software. I know, there is some Atari/music history in there (and also some personal history as well), and I can absolutely tell you that if it wasn't because of the room it takes, this stuff would *never* leave our homes. Mind you, everything has been bought new at its own time, except for the Falcon, which was bought from Claes Holmerup. So, wanna talk? PS: almost forgot this. There is an old article about our music stuff at: http://www.myatari.net/issues/jan2003/tipofday.htm In the meanwhile we added something to that setup. PPS: I'll cross-post this to atariage and atari-forum, so sorry to annoy you twice. I hope you will understand.

Hey, RedBeard! You can visit AtariAge with an ST(/e/Falcon/TT), you know? It is very Atari friendly

Just to add some useless cents to this discussion, I often used a particular sound processor (I had to use earphones for gaming in the late night ) that gets a stereo (with surround sound encoded) audio from the Jag and -instead of sending it to the [2+1 / 2+2 / 3+2 /whatever] amplifier- it re-encodes the sound in order to recreate the 'sound location' into the headphone. At first I said "WHA? How is is possible?" Then I made some reading and learnt what is obvious: we have TWO ears, so the sound reaches us and we can locate sources because of acoustic stuff like phase, reflection, refraction... Thus, a processor only have to take the separated channels and mix them up in order to get the correct soundspace. And the helicopters still came from the back, firing! But the best is when I rotate my IS and hear the 'copter move to the front. Once I plugged the cable in reverse, it was disturbing, I couldn't wait five minutes before re-plugging them in the correct way...

So, that's cool! I never thought I could see the day of a JAGFEST in Italy! I mean, I met a few ST guys over the time, but NEVER a Jagfan. And I mean neither in person, nor in the Internet. I recently knew there were at least a couple, by reading the forums (AA/Jfest, ...) So (English below), Ciao ragazzi. E' un piacere sapere che nonostante la Melchioni, qualcuno è riuscito a comprare un Jaguar in Italia. O l'avete preso fuori, come me? Forlì è un po' lontano da Napoli, ma devo studiare la cosa e provarci (sapete, moglie, figli, lavoro, 'ste cosette qui ) Hi, guys! It's a true pleasure to find out that somebody managed to buy a Falcon in Italy, although Melchioni was in charge of the distribution. Or maybe you bought it overseas, just like me? Forì is a tad far from Naples, but I HAVE to analyze the thing and try to came (you know, wife, sons, job, this RealLife stuff ... :-) )

It usually depends on the courier. If it is the Postal Service, they usually make three tries, then leave a postcard, and you have to get yourself the package from the post office. After some days (15 IIRC) they start charging you for the 'parking'. Kind of. However, Italy is a mess right now. As I explained to Dougy in a PM, we've had a huuuuge transport strike this week. You know, the no-milk, no fruit, no fuel kind of strike :-( Deliveries took a serious hit. Also, the Custom and the Postal Service do their good job to mess things up. They even managed to lose a printed photo album from Apple I ordered as Priority parcel. go figure...

WOW! Talk about roaming around in a desert! To be honest, that's where I am stuck, right in the middle of the desert. I can't remember exactly where, but I surely didn't encounter the tank. So I got bored... I should resume the game, though... I always liked the visuals in Highlander, so thank you, Clu, for sharing.

maybe here. I think it's what you need http://www.logicsays.com/atari/fmc/

Anyone want an Atari Hotz Box?
Paolo replied to Clint Thompson's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Hey, Gunstar. Why do you say "MIDI is outdated"? It is not true at all. MIDI is for exchanging data between instruments, and it is the standard today like yesterday. Then you have digital audio tech for moving data around, that is another thing (you know, virtual instruments, virtual effects, virtual-a-lot-of-useless-stuff... ). MIDI only sends notes (like in a music score page) and SYSEX (data like program change, pan, sustain, ...) and the specs *never* changed from day one. I agree that some particular applications, like controlling a huuuge mixer, is achieved today with Ethernet instead of MIDI. However, there are several reasons for trusting MIDI in a lot of departments. -
Just bought my first Jag. Region questions (CD Add on)

So, according to the BattleSphere colour conventions, you can shoot the European Jags, then -

still, don't forget the Dragon's Lair 'bug' which allows only NTSC Jags to run the game. -
Hehe, I know who you are referring to...

Hi all. I know that this is a gaming-related question, but I think this is the best place to ask (OK, I admit, Al told me so). I know that somebody managed to play Frozen Bubble on X under MiNT. If you read the FB docs, you see that there are three or four libraries required, but I don't know if they are 'directly' available on MiNT. Any hints? Thanks.

looong time ago I set up a page where a lot of jag users from here, js2 and somewhere else put their own ratings. It should still work. http://www.protom-multimedia.com/aagames

Of course, it is a matter of interpretation, since only T'bird knows what there's in his mind and heart. No doubt about this. I should have worded my post differently, of course. But, as I said, it's laaaate here! PS: it goes without saying that I'd love to see games from ALL developers still active in the Jagscene, both the newbies and the masters!
-
So, Steve, you say T'bird changed his mind after -what- eight years of screaming "no more Battlesphere"? I wander what changed his granitic mind, then... I am serious! You know I *love* the star raiders mode of BS, and I am a proud owner (NOT COLLECTOR) of a BSG cart, but what I hear right now looks a lot like a threat against CF, along the lines of "well, if CF is in, we're out and you'll never-ever get any BS/G. Doesn't matter we already said so, but now we changed our mind, and we want to do more BS/G! Oh, wait, we don't" ...if I was able to explain myself. (you know, it's pretty late here right now :-) )

So it is OK to see 10 minutes of the intro of the 1st scene with the storytelling and all in a xbox game, and tell that is a great game? Hmmm... think again. After all, it would surely be a BAD game, instead

about the MAP: I KNOW there is a map somewhere, but I really can't remember where. I twas based on something like Google Maps, and it needed registration to enter your country. Anyone remembers this?
-
of course you can start with a modem, just hook it to the com port and by using the appropriate program (as example ICONNECT or STING) you are surfing already. Oh, by the way, higwire can handle LOTS of websites, just there isn't javascript support, and flash. Adamas, does have javascript support, but I never used it, so I can't comment. CAB has got the SSL layer, but is lacking CSS support

Come on guys! There is room! The Old Continent is leading the pack, closely followed by The New World. We completely lack jaggers form Down'Under, the Latin Countries, the Huge Africa, and -as Claws just stated- Asia. As I said, COME ON, THERE IS ROOM!
-
Hmmm... right. You probably could have split Europe in major markets, so to see how many Germans, French and Rest-of-Europe users as well. At least, this is how the market appears *now*: GB, DE, FR, other in Europe. Ah, well. As usual, better ideas came *after* the actual publishing Italy here, by the way. Now, let's see who can post a southern location below mine

This is something whose result is disappointing, but it looks like a great human experience, and a showoff of serious business and customer care. It is honorable a disappointing result in such circumstances, as I already wrote. Thank you Steve for your efforts, and thank you Midway for having considered the options. Of course, I'm awaiting for the next thing from Frog.
