  1. Hey, I am holding my breath, and it's more than a whole full day, now! :-) So, any (good) news?
  2. Are those things usefu with CT60 Falcons? I'd LOVE to use one of those. (you know, while waiting for Nature or Czuba...)
  3. Back on topic, maybe this whole thing is taking a good shape. You know, the need of contacting Midway ended up with you actually contacting them! Maybe this was the input you (we all) needed to sort this thing out.

    Gorf

Well, I am old enough to remember how it was at the arcade (yeah, I know, senile attack "when I was young"... ) ...and it is arcade perfect. Now, on the other side, if we could flip our TV set ... :-) did you hear me, Frog?

    Gorf

I already got one of your Gorf disks, but I think that we could launch a "gorf gift campaign" for those of us who want to contribute, while not buying another CD for ourselves. Just a thought. And, please, send my condolences to your dear friend's family. Paolo
  6. Oh, I fully agree with you. Always, always, use more than one source. If I remember correctly, a few months ago, there was released the first full open source 3d animated cartoon, Elephant Dreams, made with Blender. The autors also produced a DVD, and in the "other languages" menu they used wikipedia to write the names of the languages (Italiano, not Italian, Espanol, not Spanish, ...) Well, The translation for CATALAN had just been object of an attack, and bad words were used instead. Obviously, the authors couldn't know this, so in the DVD release of Elephant Dreams there is an offensive word in place of the title of Catalan language. edit. better yet, I found the article :-) http://orange.blender.org/blog/an-embarrassing-mistake/
  7. Well, if this was Slashdot, it could go like this: 1) download roms 2) decrypt them 3) create a CD with menu (http://www.xs4all.nl/~rdemming/Atari/index.htm) 4) crypt the CD 5) ...? 6) Profit!
  8. @ggn: I must tell you that it *is* relevant what Wikipedia says because million of people rely on that as their first shot. There are Wikipedia search buttons directly on the Search line in Firefox, and there is a Wikipedia Dashboard widget on Mac OSX. You can try by yourself this: put a word of your choice into Google and watch the first ten results. You can bet that there is a Wikipedia entry amongst them.
  9. So, Gorf. will we able to see CD images (or even printed CDs) of your recent releases, or are they still intended for those with JUGS or BJL? I, for one, have both, but I am too 'n lazy to connect cables and upload stuff
  10. However, by ebaying them can't hurt.
  11. OK, here I am. I found those images (of course, ha ha ) they are quite small, but (at that time) they got the job done. If I had to print them again, I'd probably build them up again, following the 'originals'. Unfortunately I can't remember where I downloaded them from, but it was from somebody here. So thank you again. He also took he time to do IS2 cover and inlay, and I'll post all here.
  12. ...now that you make me think of it, I use to (it's an automated thing I forget of) backup periodically whole volumes of my HDs. As soon as I go to office, I'll search.
  13. AATE is the only BS game I actually play (and I love it). And yes, it IS more difficult than Star Raiders. At least, I have (well, I had) the 800XL cartridge, and it was a little easier. Strategy things: I like to send the fleet and cover the bases, then jumping in and making my show.
  14. I remember a while ago, somebody made a CD cover and INLAY CARD for both IS2 and WTR, I also had them stored somewhere in my computer, until recently, when I finally printed them and throw the files away... :-(
  15. Well, somebody should tell this to the GameOn folks, I think. Maybe it is a genuine mistake and they just need to replace the tag.
  16. YAY! Instead of changing the board colours (like any other chess game -boring-) let's change the characters. I like it! ...and since I sense a 'me too' thread, when are we going to hear about the development status?
  17. I am pretty regular at AtariForum, but I don't know what is this "message you know". Anybody can share the knowledge?

    Scart Cable

I think you can easily go to any electricity store and get a meter (sorry, a couple of feet :-) ) of RF cable; even without the plugs, toying around you will be able to understand what's going on.
  19. Paolo, Italy I have a MEGA4STE, 30MB hard disk, HD Floppy, TOS 2.05 Italian, mono monitor (124), SCART connector to the TV. I should find a better home for it, though, since my Falcons get the most usage now.
  20. It could also be, hmmm ... North Vermont!
  21. IRC: Internet Relay Chat the very very very first chat system
  22. For a quick and rough comparison table, I set up (ages ago) the AtariAge-inspired rate-your-jag-game page: rate your jag game At that time, a lot of people submitted a rating for their cartridges, so it might be worth a look. </shameless plug> :-)
  23. That is the actor that stars in "that's my Bush". I find him quite funny.
  24. Hmmm... a couple of months, more or less. It is connected in a 100Mbit LAN with a Mac, a LinuxBox and some Winboxes, routed to the Internet at a 4Mbps adsl connection. The LAN activity is performed vith SahrityLight, which mounts other systems' shares as NFS. I use Mint (as I already wrote in other threads) with its net modules, and I just activated Gluestik in order to use Aicq.
