Nobody mentioned that there is an error in the original Ghostbusters (PAL only?) Activision-release? When you are at the city-map near the GB-HQ and you (when I remember well) pull the joystick down (and press fire?) the screen gets black and the game hangs up! I definetly saw this error when I tested this game in a munich warehouse in 1985/6. Unfortunatly, today I ownly own the HES-rerelease where this error was fixed.

Alle Telemach und HappyComputer Veteranen sollten mal auf www.atari-spielanleitungen.de gehen! Dort gibt es einen tollen TM-Artikel, TM-Scans (derzeit leider wieder nur mal die Titelbilder grrrr.) und einen (versprochenen) Komplettscan einer 84er Happy mit Bildern von VideoMagic (Joystick-Test). An der Happy hat mich frueher immer der spiessige Heinrich Lehnhart, hl, (jeder kennt ihn) gestoert, der seine Tests immer im gleichen pseudo-lustigen Stil heruntergeleiert hat. Als TM-Veteran war ich einfach zu sehr an die intelektuellen Werke von hh und ha (Huff und Andersen) gewoehnt! Tragt euch doch im Gaestebuch ein und huldigt den Meister der Page und fordert TM-Scans!

The picture on my 6 switch (2600P, Atari-Wong) is perfect, the Junior is nearly the same qualitiy, but all 4 switch models (2600AP) i tried have a very poor picture at many games. Some work just fine, others delivers you a picture full of fuzz and static. For example Kangaroo: the picture of the 1987 re-release Atari Corp version was horrible on my 4swich vader-model, but the same game worked fine on the Junior and 6switch The same with Vanguard, Missile Command. The 1983 Kangaroo Atari Inc game works fine on the 4switch!!! Same with 1983 Vanguard and 1981 Missile Command. What is going on here??

Are there any differences between the CV-machines (like the Atari 2600)? The german-version has german-lables and I know one version which says "CBS Colecovision Video-Game/Computer system" , and the power switch is called 1 / 0 instead of on/off. I think it is the last version (1984). But are there any internal differences? Is it true (I am nearly sure it is) that the CV is just a stripped-down MSX-computer? Why ist the color-palette limited to 16 colors?

A few weeks ago I remembered my old CV - now I have "Coleco-fever". I changed the internals from my white ADAM-controllers into the old broken black CV-standard-controllers- now I have a perfect looking and working CV system. Are the ADAM-controllers more durable than the CV ones? At the moment my updated controllers are working perfect. Now I am searching for the controller-overlays. Are there any web-sites to print it out? How knows good CV-websites ( not www.colecovision.com)? Any german-speaking Coleco-fans here?

Es sieht wie handgekurbelt aus: Über den Bildschirm zieht sich von oben nach unten eine starre, platte, alles andere als dreidimensional wirkende ägyptische Landschaft. Der Spieler dirigiert einen müden Pharonensohn durch die Gegend, der mit einem noch zu erheischenden Schatz den Tempel des Re erreichen muß, um Ägypten von einem Fluch zu befreien. Der Durst ist mächtig, und Diebe sind zahlreich, aber von Action ist weit und breit nichts zu sehen. Von neueren Video- spielen darf man mehr erwarten an Spannung und Dynamik, und wenn´s geht, auch verständlichere Anleitungen. (Helge Andersen über Imagics Riddle of the Sphinix). Aha..., von denen die du nicht hast habe ich die zweite Ausgabe und die Juli 84 Ausgabe..unter anderem mit der Vorstellung des Atari 7800 und den Test von Crystal Castles (Note 2). Für das Coleco wird unter anderem War Games, Frenzy und Cabbage Patch Kids vorgesellt. Mister VCS

Thomas: Welche Tests würden dich besonders interessieren?

Neulich hab ich ein paar alte Telematch-Ausgaben ersteigert, und ich bin überrascht über die strenge Kritik bei einigen Spielen. Die Cassetten werden bekannterweise nach dem Schulnotensystem bewertet (1-6). Demon Attack auf VCS wurde beispielsweise mit 3 bewertet. Die von vielen verehrte Star-Wars-The Empire...-Cassette bekam sogar nur ne 4! (deckt sich in dem Fall auch mit meiner Meinung da ich das Spiel schon immer stinklangweilig fand). Generell schneiden die frühen Imagic-Titel häufig nur mit 3 ab. Das Xonox-Game Robin Hood hat sogar ne 6 verpasst bekommen, wegen der sinnlosen Gewaltdarstellung. Das war noch verantwortungsvoller Journalismus *g* Bei Interesse kann ich ja mal ein paar kürzere Tests hier abtippen und zur Diskussion stellen!

In the early 80ies my VCS was NOT my dream-console! I often went to the warehouses and looked with big eyes to the Colecovision-machines. This system was eye-candy for me (great graphiks, great games, a weird-keypad, good promotion). But I never had the chance to bring one of this wondermachines to my home, because of the price (549 DM or 270 US $). None of my friends had this expensive system. But when I compared the Vectrex, which owned my best friend, with my VCS I was more happy with my Atari! Hey, it is my Post no. 100, TEMPEST I AM COMING!!!!!

How many tracks had the original Pole Positon arcade machine? I rember back in 1991 when I played the original arcade machine at the last time i could choose between 4 tracks, but my PC-version (Microsoft Return of the Arcade) only has one (due to the 2600 version). Are there different arcade-originals?

Kann mir jemand sagen ob es im WWW irgend- welche Seiten mit Scans der Telematch gibt? Bisher habe ich noch nichts gefunden, ausser Titelbildern oder ein paar spärlichen Artik- eln (www.gamegrid.de). Kann doch fast nicht sein, dass es das noch nicht gibt! Vielleicht erbarmt sich mal jemand, und stellt seine TM-Hefte mal ins Netz.

NO OBELIX-PLAYERS AT ATARIAGE?

I just wanna know if the other AtariAgers are (active) members on other classic- gaming-boards like digitalpress or 2600connection. I am sure that TEMPEST is a very busy digitpress member, but the others? For myself, i am an AtariAge only, because it is just the best and coolest board on the www! One more thanx to Alex and Albert!

I think it would be just for fun! Everyone here knows that the VCS is no X-box. There are several VCS games which come pretty close to the arcade counterparts. (Kung Fu Master, Missile Command, Stargate, Space Invaders, Night Driver, Berzerk...) I would love to see this!
