Are there internal differnces between both 2600A (woody and vader)? Is the screenplay on the 4switch woody sharper than on a vader?

One of you finished Radar Lock? I can´t finish the 3rd level. The docking-scene is very tricky! By the way it is a fantastic game with great graphics. What do you think?

Is the TV-signal on the woody 4-switch better than on the black 4-switch? I never owned a woody 4-switch, but I think they are internal the same. Some games on the black 4-switch are horrible (e.g. Fatal Run). Is there something to repair? It is a shame for Atari, because I think the black VCS is the best looking VCS!

Why looks the PAL-version of Battlezone so much different from the NTSC-Original? The NTSC-Original is so much more colorful than the PAl-version.

Does anyone know how to get rid off the fuzzy lines across the screen and static on a 2600A? Is there something to clean? Some games work others don´t.

One of you wrote that "the six silver switches are so charming". What do you think about the 2600A with only four switches and.....the little Junior with his simple buttons. .. Is this a real VCS? I tried to love the Junior about the years but it is impossible. The long rainbow version is a "Tramiel-Masterpiece" with red color near the red power light!

I just wanna know why Atari Corp. released the so-called XE-game-system after the 5200 and 7800. Was there a market for 3 nearly indentical game systems? Why re-realeased Atari in 1986 games for the dead 5200 system?

Hi, what do you think about Fatal Run? I think it is a good racing game. I have problems to play it on my 2600 AP (darth vader). The screen is full of "white lines". On my 6switch and Jr. there is a perfect screen!

Hi, how many 2600er do you own? I actually own 3: 2600 P (6-switch, Hong-Kong), 2600 AP (4-switch,black, Ireland) and 2600 Jr. (short-rainbow, Taiwan) My favourite VCS is the 6-switch.

Hi, I remember back in 1984 I owned a german 2600 Jr catalog from Atari Inc. with the Warner-logo. Are there any Juniors from Atari Inc.? Mine is from Taiwan (short-rainbow), and I think its a pretty earliy version, but it says Atari Corp.

It´s not the same if you play Congo Bongo on an old Atari VCS or on a 2600Jr... At the second level the game restarts on a Jr if you walk on the left or right edges before the river! What is the technical reason for this?

What do you think about Mr. Do? For me its a very good game, much better than Dig Dug. Its more fun than the CV version.

I remember back in 1983/84 the CV was my most wanted system (but it was too expensive for a 12 year old kid). But today when i compare the VCS and the CV I must say that the VCS has more "magic". The actiongames are faster (Space Invaders / Gorf) and VCS-versions of the same game are better (Pitfall II). I like the VCS Smurf much more than the CV Smurf (its more challenging). I think the CV is just a stripped-down MSX Computer with all its scrolling-problems. Hunting for a hiscore is more fun at a VCS than on a CV. The best CV games are Mousetrap, DK Jr. and Turbo. What do you think?

Hi, there is one thing I am missing at AtariAge: Scans of the different 2600er owner manuals -from the first 6switch VCS to the last 2600Jrs. Because I live in Germany, I would love to see the international editions too. What do you think?

Hi, could you tell me if there are any internal differences between the woodgrain and all-black 4switch VCS? All "darthvaders" I owned had an ugly screen- play. If the woodgrain 4swich has a better screenplay I want to buy one and insert the motherboard in my darthvader 2600, because I like the all-black look.

The hardest games in my opinion are: Ghostbusters II (I can`t finish the second level) The Swordquest games Pressure Cooker (the later levels) Jr. Pac Man (with four ghosts) Radar Lock Solaris Donkey Kong Jr. Double Dragon and Kung Fu Master are not so difficult in my opinion. What do you think?
